I'm just reviewing the basics of SumProduct to be sure that I understand what I'm really doing when I deploy the function. So, I have the following formula:
I'm working on an Excel spreadsheet and basicly i'm inserting manually data from a lot of paper forms.
It isn't a dificult thing, but is boring, because I have to do more than 2000 forms per week!
I want to accelerate, and how to do that
Problem: "Address"! The Excel page that i'm working has a column to feel with Addresses manually, but I have a table with all correct Address names from the city that I'm working about in other page.
What I would like is when start typing some keyword from the Address cell, it could show me all the choises of input (based on the correct Address Table)
Excel, by default, show, by exact order, all the choises, already typed on the same collumn.
I don't want that.
- imagine I have the Table 1 (representing the table with all city adresses) with a collumn called 'Address' with:
A1 - Street ZXY
A2 - Avenue QWE
A3 - Street QWE
A4 - Avenue ZXY
when typing on another Table, if I write something like “QWE” show me the A2 and A3 to choose wich I'm going to feel, and the same to “ZXY”, showing the A1 and A4. Other thing, if I write “QWE street” may show A3 also. Keyword is what i'm talking about
This seems to take much longer than I would have expected. Is there anything I can do to speed it up, or is this just something to live with?

First macro: I am able to specify my range (B6:B77), but the macro applies to blank cells and I need to apply to "" cells.

Second macro: very fast as well. Here, it applies to "" cells, but I am unable to specify a range. So the rows 1 to 4, which are empty, are hidden but should not.

To monitor fast moving decimal values in the even numbered cells( e.g. F2 to F 30 ) of a column, ignoring blank cells, and if two of cells values simultaneously fall below a certain value e.g. 2.04 True if not False.
I wasnt sure if I could make a shortcut on the screen, such as a button that says "Reset all filters". I need to make it very easy for non-savy excel users, and would like to stray away from using any keyboard shortcuts, that will Be hard for them to remember, but I will use this if absolutely necessary.
We have our system set up with 2 folders one with blank forms and the other with these forms filled out and completed (records), is their a trick to removing the data from a completed form fast with out removing tables and text used to make the forms questions? If I could do this it would save time from opening in the blank forms folder then saving in the records folder.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have created a macro that basically looks for rows that contain an "H" and hides the row if it does.
Users can add new rows throughtout the year to this spreadsheet. and based on certain criteria, an H or U will be placed in a hidden column which the macro looks at and hides any row it finds an H.
The user has to click on the button that has the macro assigned to it once they have finished working on the spreadsheet.
The problem we're finding is that for users who insert/delete rows, once they click the button it takes up to 15 seconds to run through macro (which is ok). However, users who haven't added or deleted any rows and who click the button, they have to wait upto 5 minutes (which isn't ok) for the macro ro run.
We can't figure out why the macro takes longer to run when no changes have been made?
I've taken on an old excel datasource any I need to restructure it and a column is foxing me.
The column lists time in mm.ss format (decimal seperator), so 1.5 hours is shown as 90.00. For future use, I need this column to be formatted in hh:mm:ss (colon sepertors), ie 1:30:00
If I simply change the cell format to hh:mm:ss,
I am trying to save a file from xls to csv. One of my columns in the xls file is filled with numbers separated by commas but is saves as a text. Whenever I save the file as a csv it converts the numbers saved as a text to be saved as numbers so it screws my commas up and therefor messes up the entire file.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI am using the function =LOOKUP(J2,Sheet4!$A$2:$A$1000,Sheet4!$B$2:$B$1000)
which sometimes returns a #N/A error. I want it to return an empty cell instead in those cases. My attempt was =IF(LOOKUP(J2,Sheet4!$A$2:$A$1000,Sheet4!$B$2:$B$1000)=NA(),0,LOOKUP(J2,Sheet4!$A$2:$A$1000,Sheet4!$ B$2:$B$1000)) however, it still returns a #N/A error. Is there any way around this?
I have a rather large "application" that I've built into a spreadsheet at work (about 1200 lines of code, 4 forms, and code on a few spreadsheets).
I'd like to convert all this code and the forms into a VB6 project so I can have this application as an executable separate from the workbook, if possible.
I tried exporting the forms, but they show in the project explorer as Designers.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi try to convert several decimal values into Days Hours:Minutes:Seconds my problem is the following. If i user the format DD hh:mm:ss values over 32 will start counting the days from 0 (like a new month). and if i format it like M D h:m:s values < 32 days gets displayed with a 1 (for the month) before the days.
[Code] ......
is there a way to get only the count of days displayed without the summarization to months?
I am trying to convert cells so that I can pull data into a pivot to only show month & year. I have connverted the format in the cells to custom mmm-yy in the source data w/sheet which displays it how I want it to but the pivot table also picks up the day so instead of having groupings by month/yr I am getting groupings by day/month/year.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow to convert the excel formula into its value? I know the easiest way is to copy and use paste special then "value" options but is there a way to make it automated in case the desired output value has resulted.
HTML example:
A1 B1 C1 D1
1 2 A1+B1 Yes/No
on the above example, if D1=Yes, the output C1 will become value equals to 3 and the formula will be remove, if D1=No, the formula will still remain.
