I am trying to find a efficient solution to convert 3 lists (in the same column layouts) to a calender format. I have different lists that are maintained but want to consolidate them into one calender. So rather than looking at 3 individual lists, someone can view this one master calender with all the events/meetings.
The events from each list would automatically populate one master calender.
I have a consolidation workbook and source files.I would like to convert the data from the source files into a list format in the consolidation workbook.
I have attached a sample of the sheet format of the source files in the attached file, called 'Page 5'. The other 2 sheets are 'Template' and 'Instructions'. The 'Template' sheet is what I imagined would be the list format of the data copied from the 'Page 5' sheet. Instructions is where the lookup table for currency is.
So basically starting from row 8 in 'Template' sheet, I would like to copy and paste from 'Page 5' sheet to 'Template' sheet: - H2 to A8 & B8 - B2 to C8 - According to the list of currency in 'Instructions' sheet, lookup the currency according to operating unit in C8 and paste to D8 - D5-I5 to E8 - row A8-A23 to column F-N
I actually have had a similar problem before, which Derk has helped me here - link: Use Access or XL? (I've decided to start a new thread because this is a more relevant forum).
I have tried to modify the code but I am rather lost as to which part I am supposed to modify.. Note that in this code, the source data is in separate file instead.
Sub add()
Dim wb As Workbook, f As Worksheet, t As Worksheet, j As Integer, k As Integer, n As Integer Dim mty As String, yr As Integer, d As Date, bu As String, cur As String, sTodo As Variant
sTodo = Array("Page 5") 'finish adding the names Application. ScreenUpdating = False Set t = Workbooks("Example1.xls").Worksheets("Template") i = t.Cells(65536, 2).End(xlUp).Row
I have a calendar created as an excel workbook that currently has no functionality other than writing notes for specific dates. How can I get excel to show a message/popup/notification when the calender is opened up each time for what has been input as a note for the date today? The calendar has a year to view on one worksheet and then a month to view on subsequent tabs. please note i am a relative novice with excel.
I am creating an employee work register to record working days and hours both in the office and remotely. I am doing this using Excel, where one spreadsheet represents one month and each cell represents a day per person. I want to enter everyone's working hours for the first week of the first month and then use a formula or another feature to replicate that pattern across the entire month/year, i.e. add a recurring event.
At the moment, I have twelve worksheets in a workbook for each month and each worksheet looks like this:
DAY | DAY | DAY >> (all the way to the end of the month) NAME NAME NAME NAME NAME
I have a column of cells with values - 0.2%, 0.32%, 0.22, 0.5 etc. The cells with % symbol are in ' Percentage, 2 decimal' format while the plain numbers are in 'General' format i.e. column contains cells in either of these formats. I need a macro where I can specify the column and it will select the cells with the % format, convert it to 'General' and multiply the result by 100 eg. 0.2% converted to 'General' becomes 0.002. When multiplied by 100, result is 0.2 i.e. is displayed without the % symbol.
I have a page for data entry that I want to automatically convert any data that is a percentage to a whole number (50% to 50 - not to 0.50). I am in the Sheet code (not the workbook) and I can't seem to get this to work. Data will likely be pasted by the user in bulk to a range (B3:H32) though data may not cover the entire range. I want the conversion to happen seamlessly to the user as my userbase will exceed 1,000 users, many of whom are not Excel savvy. When I enter data as a percent in the range on the sheet (using B column only at the moment for testing), nothing happens. Right now, the loop only covers the B column, but ideally, it will cover the entire range.
Code: Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) If Not Intersect(Target, Range("B3:H32")) Is Nothing Then For Each c In Range("B3:B32")
In D2 I have: =B2 In D3 I have manually input: (space)3-08
As you can see the CONCATENATE puts the "39569" date in A2 But the second line puts the text date as I prefer. What I would like to do is put in a formula or macro in D2 and down that will change the "Mar-08" to "3-08" so it CONCATENATEs correctly to column A. Simply: I'm trying to avoid manually inputing the text version "3-08" (or whatever M-Y) into D2 down a hundred or so rows!
I select the date from drop down calendar in excel and linked with one cell. when i use the date in vlookup formula it does not work due to linked cell date format.
I have a userfrom with 2 textboxes used for entering dates. would like to either force the user to enter the date as xx/xx/xxxx or have a calendar feature where they can select a date. I checked my 'additional controls' in my toolbox but do not see a calendar option.
Is it possible to write an event trigger macro to format cells? Let's say I want to add a new information to the row which is after FinalRow. Can I force excel to detect the input and then format that new row as previous rows or something custom?
How do I change a date "10/01/2004" into a format like 20041001? I used concatenate(right(A1,4),left(A1,2),mid(A1,4,2)) but the function takes the serial value of the date as an argument and concatenates that . So I get a different value.How can I get away with it?
I need to define a specific calendar quarter and year, and want to do so using a combo box for the quarter (e.g. 1st Quarter, 2nd Quarter, 3rd Quarter, 4th Quarter) and a list box for the year (so the user can select any year desired).
The selections in each item should then somehow define the quarter's date range so I can use it in my SUMPRODUCT calculations.
Example:
User selects '1st Quarter' from the Combo Box User selects '2004' from the List Box
CurrentQuarter range is somehow defined to equal 1/1/04 through 3/31/04.
If this isn't possible, then perhaps two ranges can be defined based on the user's selections:
QtrStart is set to 1/1/04 QtrEnd is set to 3/31/04
I have been asked to create a calendar which will display, on the applicable date of expiry, a contract name. Basically so someone can go and see what contracts are due to expire. And then if a new contract comes up it will automatically be added.
I have a list of Contract names in one column followed by the expiry date.
I have looked around and there are some things which could help but they are seriously complicated and I can't work out how to apply it to my situation.
What I want to do is have a sub-Function that will check to make sure what is entered into a TextBox is a number, and if it is NOT a number that it changes the color of the TextBox to Yellow.
Currently if the entry is not numeric it just clears the cell and that part is good, but I want the color to flag that the user TRIED to put something there.
I'm doing this as a sub-Function since I need to use this check about 20-25 times.
I have a marketing calendar that I need to update just about daily with new promotional plans because the dates change very often and there are a lot of markets that we are keeping track of. Because the format of the excel is basically a bunch of merged cells to show the range of dates of a particular promotion, it takes a very long time to unmerge and remerge everything when one date changes.
I have an example of what the graph looks like below, as well as a grid of what I would like to use to generate this graph automatically using the start and end dates so thats all you need to change. If you changed the start dates, the market name, or the promo name, the chart would reflect the updates.
I have a program where I can update the calibration due date of an item. I have attached a cut down version of my program showing the relevant areas. There is usually password protection on the worksheet so it can only be edited via the form (the vba coding removes the password protection before editing, then re-enables the password protection after editing). The "Update Calibration" button is usually on a "Menu" sheet.
Once the form is opened a serial number is typed in the textbox. The calendar button is then clicked, which brings up another form with the calendar on. The due date is selected on the calendar. When "OK" is clicked, the date label caption is then changed to the selected calendar date. When "Submit" is clicked, the spreadsheet will search for the Serial Number, once found, the label caption (being the date selected) will be entered into the cell to the right of the serial.
If the day selected on the calendar is greater than 12 the date is entered correctly onto the sheet. example: calendar date selected = 15/01/2010. shown on sheet as 15/01/2010. However, if the day selected on the calendar is 12 or less, the date is for some reason entered incorrectly onto the sheet. example: calendar date selected = 08/12/2010. shown on sheet as 12/08/2010???? What is going on here? how come the day and month are swapped around if the day is less than 12????
I want to select a date of choice from a calendar in a field within an Excel spreadsheet.
I do not know how to do userforms and so that is why I wonder if I can add this in just a spreadsheet.
This is how far I have gotten so far: After doing the following, I have a static calendar setting in my spreadsheet like a text box showing the current date.
Developer Insert More Controls Calendar Control 12.0
Let me see if I can explain my question in an understandable fashion....
I have a table containing data for about 2000 ID numbers. Some of these numbers are unique and some are duplicates. I would like to convert the ID numbers into a consecutive list of integers while preserving the unique numbers. For example, if the first column of my table is currently:
I have a spreadsheet that in various cells have numbers that have been been formated as text and have a leading zero and therefore displays the green flag in the corner of the cell. I want to change them to number format and clear the green flag.
using something like Cells.ClearFormats Cells.NumberFormat = "0.00"
doesn't seem to work. whist it shows the format as number it still leaves the green flag and the leading zero.
I have 13 sheets in my workbook (one for each month plus a GlobalSettings). In each month sheet I want to create a change event that prompts a UserForm when they select "Yes" from a drop-down validation list if it happens to be a month prior to the current month.
