Is there a formula that will enter the current date in a cell A1, when I enter text into the adjoining cell A2? I'm creating a log with notes and would like the current date to just appear when notes are entered in a cell.

if col b has a date then subrtract col a from b and display the # result, if col b is blank then subtract col a from location I store the @ now date - say Col ZZ Row 99? so no matter there is a count of number of days in every row in column D
I have a user form that when a command button is clicked it enters the data from the from into coloums a,b,c,etc. I have code to do this but I want to add code to add a static date in coloum B based on if coloum A had data entered from the form. Each code corresponds to a text In the next column (lets say column B) for example AA is the code for "Transmission". Using a clean spreadsheet and using a drop down list, I would like the cell to the right of the selected dropdown code, to automatically fill in the text of what the code corresponds to.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI would like to be able to enter the data into the grey cells and then have the yellow cells auto generate a result. The only problem is that the required value in cell B5 is from when the entered value in B4 is looked up in the table, rounded UP to the next highest value and then the answer from the next cell.
So, if I enter in B4 a value of 500, a lookup is made in the table and the next highest value would be 553 with the correct answer shown in B5 being 13.
I know there is a way to enter the current date in a cell.

For example
cell g (accounts) is blank, cell H (date found).
Once the correct account is entered into cell g the date will autofill in H.
The formula i was using is =IF(G1"",TODAY(),"")
I have a little problem (but for me is like a break); I want, when I change some in a cell, in the other cell, show me current date. I try with "today()", but , next day when I open that workbook, in that cell, show me the date coresponding with the next day (normaly).
How ,I can rezolve this? I want to blocked that cell, only view, but no acces for change enithing.
On opening of an excel document is it possible to have a date in a cell that will continuously update. =now() enters the date required but if i was to go into the sheet days or whatever later is there a way that this will update automatically??

I found a useful code on a forum (maybe here, don't know for certain) and modified it to suit my needs (see below). I am however now getting a debugging error suggesting that the second line that reads "Private Sub Worksheet_Calculate()" is causing an error.
I have two columns, column Q and R. Column Q has Data Validation set, where you can only choose one of four options in any given cell between rows 2-250,000. When "Complete" is chosen, the cell turns green. Now when "Complete" is chosen in column Q, I need the cell next to it in Column R to auto-fill today's date. However, the date should not update to the next day. So if the cell autofills to today's date, which is 12/6/13, tomorrow, when the date changes to 12/7/13, the cell still reads 12/6/13.

See the attachment for the example. What I need is whenever row 3 ="x" I need the corresponding cell in row "d" to update with the latest date, time and username. Please not the macro is currently not active on the sheet as i've added the ' character.
I am trying to allow the Command Button when clicked to go through multiple conditions before making a decision. So, when someone clicks on Command Button 3 the code should look to see if CheckBox1 is true, then it should check today's date, and if it is between a range of days, or even months, then it would add the number in TextBox1 with the amount already in cell H18. This event will happen every time someone clicks on the Command Button.
The end result is to have several sheets (4 total) for each quarter in the fiscal year, and if the dates are within those parameters, the clicking of the command button will update the correct sheet.
I'm trying to workout how to take a known initial date a repeating frequency and work out the next due date from today.
Example
Initial Date :- 1st of January 2014
Frequency :- every 5 weeks
Current Date :- 9th of March 2014
Next Due date should be :-12th of March 2014 (if I worked it out correctly from my paper calendar)
I want to use a cell formula to do this for different initial dates and varying frequency periods (the frequency will always be whole weeks i.e. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,8,10)
I have userform with date pickers and have text boxes overlaid on these, when I select todays date from the date picker it does not display the current date in the text box (I have 8 date pickers on the userform). If I select another date then reselect the current date it works. It has occasionally worked but why.
Below is the code for populating the text box from the Date Picker.

I have two columns of dates, leave start and end dates (when people start leave i.e. annual leave). Would need to introduce column(s) to calculate how many days fell within the month including the end date and excludes weekends.
For example, if the staff on leave from 31st March to 6 April, i need to show that the number of leave taken as 1 day in March and 4 days in April.
Trying to automate the period part of the impt function
To calculate current value of loan i have the below formula below with the 3 being the current period
=IPMT(4.3%/12,3,5*12,-7000)/(4.3%/12)
What i would like to do is for the period to be self calcuating from current date and the loan start date. I can return a value in days using start date - today() and aware month function returns the month number but stuggling to find a way to work out cumulative month from the start date.
I have an excel sheet wherin there is a column that has the data where in the dates are displayed and many other columns.
I get this excel every Thursday so i want to filter this date column in such a way that it give me the data related to the date of the previous week only yet there is a catch here. When i say previous week i mean.
Suppose today is 03/14/14 then i want the data from 03/07/14 till today ie Last week friday to this week full( so cant use Current week option) and then paste it in a new sheet.

I created a basic excel weekly budget and would like to know how much money I have as of todays date. on the top row I have a date range from Sunday to Saturday, so it looks like this:
09-15 16-22 23-29
with the month manually put in above it.
then below I have income and expenses with a Overall below that, so basically what I want to is see the Overall value based on todays date, not sure how to do this with the weekly range and automatic current date(which is =TODAY() as far as I know) I have attached a photo as a reference.

I have a protected worksheet with 60 columns (20 sets of 3), and want to give my users the ability to hide the columns they're not using. There's a row of unprotected cells below the columns in question with data validation allowing a choice of either Show or Hide, and want my macro to act based on thier choices.
Since it's a large spreadsheet, I don't want to run 60 (or 20) different hide commands, if at all possible.
Is there a way to read the 60 different Show/Hide cells (or 20 range names) and join those into a single VB range so I can run the EntireColumn.hidden = True statement once?
Basically, I'm doing a recorded macro for work where I take an export and manipulate the data to show differences between sales from last year and this year. Also comparing this months projected sales to avg of last 6 months and also against last years this month.
The problem I'm running into is in automating the this month sales for mid-month exports. I can do it individually but I can't find a formula that will do it. Data is in one cell per month, so ex. 130 sales this month so far. I need to have it convert that to projected sales for total month based on what day it currently is.

I'm working on a spreadsheet which needs to refer to the current date. My PC checks the system date/time daily. Can I assume that if an end-user regularly connects to the internet, their PC will have a correct system date? Does anyone know if Win2000 or Win98 automatically update the system date/time when connected to the internet?
