I need to disable the normal Print Icon and Print function from the menu bar in excel. I did find an article for this but it disabled the function for all excel spreadsheets! How can I overcome this so that its only relevant to this particular worksheet.
The reason I want to disable the normal printing functionality is so that the end user clicks my own print button which in turn before printing will check if 2 cells in my worksheet match. If they do not match a message will appear and they won't be able to print the worksheet(in essence a certificate). So I need to validate cell a1 against cell a2
I want to use the Validation function under the Data menu to check a cell for a number range, a blank cell, or for one or more spaces. I have a formula to do the first two but not to check for one or more spaces. I'm running Excel for Mac 2011.

I have a spreadsheet that pulls in a log file after running a macro with 100000eight digit numbers which may or may not have a record in the system. These numbers are produced by using any seven digits and adding a check digit at the end for an eight digit number using the mod function specifically Mod7...=MOD(A1,7) , for example, if cell A1 has 1234567 the mod7 function will produce the check digit 5 then concatenating for the eight digit number 12345675. the next number will be produced by adding 1 to the end of the 7 digit number 1234567+1=1234568 then concatenating again the number with the check digit 6, 12345686. this would be sequential order.
my spreadsheet gets all the eight digit numbers with no record and sorts them in MOD7 sequential order in one column. since the spreadsheet ignores the eight digit numbers with records. my compiled list of numbers have non sequential numbers in the list.
i need a way in VB to loop through 100000 lines (column A) and find the first and last number of a MOD7 sequential range and place the first number in (column B) and the last in (column C).
I have figured a way to do this in a spreadsheet but it takes too many functions and calculations in 100000 lines so the spreadsheet takes too long to open and sometimes crashes!
i need some formula to data validation with this criteria :
allow only text "DROP" and "check" ...
I'm looking for a function which will check if the cell value is a valid UK registration number plate format.
True if it is, False if it isn't.
I've tried myself and had a look around but am unable to find a solution to my problem.
If also possible, if false, to make to necessary amendments to make it a valid format...ie If some lower case values, make them upper case, if there is a space entered, remove it, if a O is entered instead of a 0, correct it and show the corrected value when the function is run. For all that it can't do that with, then leave as False.
I understand the second part may not be possible, just identifying whether or not the value is a valid format. I have something similar which does this for UK postcodes, but am hitting a brick wall trying to do the same for UK registration number plates.
Got a table where I've placed Data validation - List on them.
Placed a macro on a button so that the data on the table where the validation list is placed is transfered to another sheet (same workbook).
What I need is a to modify the macro assigned to the button so that when the button is clicked to activate the macro:
a.) Can identify if there are any blanks on specified cells with validation list
b.) Stops the macro from copying the fields to the other sheet
c.) Alert the user of the blanks (an alert stating there is a blank would suffice)
d.) Alert should preferably be similar to a Stop alert from Data Validation.
Can anyone help? Been reading through several threads but don't seem to find anything that could help me - tried reading a Visual basic thread and now i've got a headache....
I have a userform with 15 Combo boxes & I would like to make sure all the enabled combo boxes (some may be disabled) have a value > 0 (Zero) before exiting the userform.

Example: Todays date is 19/03/14. If a user enters 25/03/14 into 'TxtDate' they will not be able to proceed.

I'm sent a file every day where column A contains a month & year but in "general" format.
For example;
Column A, starting with cell A1 with the next date in A2, etc
Jan15
Feb15
Mar15
Apr15
Is there a way through a formula or macro that I can use in order to run through all the dates in this column to make sure that the next cell down is always the month after the cell above it? The dates go all the way through to 2018 in the above format.
I have a sheet(Sample.xlsx) in which weekly data is collected and this is done by using the VBA code(Present in Copy 1 and Copy 2 button in Master US.xlsm) written by me. But in my code, it inserts a new after asking two parameters, i.e. line range(i.e. row no for eg A64) and date. I want it to automatically search row containing last date and inserts row below it and this needs to be implemented in "Insert Automatically" and "Insert Date" button using VBA code in Master US.xlsm sheet.I dont have problem with second paramenter.
Logic i want to use :

How to check cell from a " DATE" column has todays date or not?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI want to check if Date in field B2 (which is 25/10/2013) falls between 21/10/2013 - 28/10/2013 (Using UK date format, not sure if that's relevant). And apply that to all other fields in the column.
I got it to work using the Today() function, and Today()-7 but I can't get it to work with regular dates, and some of the checks I want to be able to do are from further back.

I inherited a spreadsheet and the date validation does not work. It checks for the formatting of the date being entered, and when anything is entered is returns the pop-up error message. so even when a correctly formatted date is typed into the cell the error message prevents the user from entering the new date. I have checked and cannot find the problem. I even tried formatting the cell with Crtl-1 to ensure the date being entered was formatted right, but still does not work.

i am trying to see if a date is between 2 dates. i have a sql dump and want to create additional colums before creating a pivot. each line was created with a date and i want to create 2 new colums financail year, month. not sure if it is possible with vlookup and that is about as advanced as i get. attached is a summary table.

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy excel worksheet is a Project Status Log with many rows and columns. My code goes through each row and sorts the projects Unique_ID by Launch Date. On the Launch & Revised (12 & 13) columns, I need to perform the following for each row (I reference Column 2 which is a Unique_ID).
Check if Revised value is populated
If yes then use Revised value else use Launch value
Check if value is a date else store Unique_ID in array Other
If the value is a date then check # of days from today to value
My problem is that if the value is not a date it does not store in array Other but may store to any of the alternate arrays I am utilizing. (I believe this is due to the string being converted to a date and then checked for date difference but don't know why this is happening.)
I have added more than the code I described in an effort to provide more understanding, so if you need more detail I can attempt to explain but right now my brain is hurting.

I expected it to return error if the date entered is less than Current(System's) date. This is not working.
I have a input box in a userform that I am trying to force the user to put in a valid date(mm/dd/yyyy or mm/dd/yy which is changed to mm/dd/yyyy). The code is below. When an invalid date is inputed by the user, for example 'abc' I get the error: Compile error: Label not defined. I would like a message box to pop up showing the user that a valid date needs to be inputted. What is wrong with the code to throw the compile error?

I am constructing a spreadsheet which is intended to highlight Just in time and late jobs. I have headings job number/Customer/Delivery Date/ Revised Manufacture Date. The first three are already populated by extracting data from our erp system and we enter the revised run date ourselves.
What I am looking for is a formula which shows if the revised run date entry is a day prior to the delivery date then populate the last cell with JIT and colour the cell yellow. Or if the revised run date entry matches or is beyond the delivery date, populate the last cell with LATE and colour the cell red.
I want to be able to validate the data input into an input box. It must be in the following format

First three letters of the month, a dash then the last two numbers of the year.
I need to confirm that a date is entered correctly into a userform.
This code works for a command button, but not for a WorkSheet_Change event.
My textbox is the first in the userform, and needs to be checked immediately, as the labels in the rest of the userform all change to reflect the date that was entered.
What is the best way to do this? I tried a keycode = vbKeyReturn option, but cannot get it to work?

I am trying to work out if today is in a sequence of +30 days from a specific date (and not past a specific date)
so, for example i have a start date of 25/1/11 and an end date of 25/1/16.
i want to know if today falls as part of a 30 day cycal from the start date.
i need to be able to do it without working it maunally such as just "=25/1/11+30" and fill across.

I imagine this isn't the best way and I since I couldn't get past the Set statement. What am I missing? Is the range of dates causing the problem? If my range is one cell in the range it sets the range?
I have software that generates an excel worksheet with data with dates. In this column of dates, there are either valid dates or dates with all zero's (00-00-00). I need to setup a formula that checks this column, if they have a valid date (anything greater than 00-00-00) then mark that row with "Contract", if hit has all zero's (00-00-00) then mark it as "CP". One thing, this column is not formatted as "Date", it is formatted as general. I didn't know if that made a difference.
Also, is there a way to setup this WHOLE column with this formula so that as soon as the data is extracted, it will automatically change the cell value to CP or Contract?
