Pick Range Of Dates And Find Number Of Days Without Sales Between Those Dates

A2 to BF2 is a range of dates
A3 to BF3 are sales. Days without sales are 0.00
I want to pick a range of dates and find the number of days without sales between those dates. So, a formula that will look to a start date in A1 and an end date in B2, and then count the number of days that did not have sales between. Index/Match/Countif/Dateif I can't seem to make anything work.
Excel 2007 :: Unable To Convert Text Dates To System Dates
Oct 21, 2011I am in strange situation where I have a data with Invoice Dates. These dates are in Text. However, when I convert it into reall excel dates. For some reason the dates do not come right. convert my text dates into excel real dates. I did a lot of google search and apply these three methods but all of these gave me strange result I was not expecting. These are the methods I used and the result of each method.
Method 1 : Using Text to Column Wizard (Excel 2007)
I highlighted invoice column and went into text to column wizard. I clikced on Date button, and selected MDY format. Strangely enough, my result was day, month and year i.e. DMY which does not seem right.
Then I press Control ~ on this data as shown in second view.

2nd Method - Using formula to convert text date to real dates When I used formula, I get the following result. As you can see, formula is converting text dates into different system dates than the first method.Further strange things is when I take these system dates i.e. 4283 and in 2007 excel format use "Short Date" the same system date gets converted into wrong year as shown in the second view.

Similarly, I tried other methods or copying blanks etch but none seems to convert text dates into real (system dates).

Nov 14, 2013I would typically consider myself a decent Excel user, but I haven't been able to solve this one. Maybe it's just the lack of sleep now. I am attempting to combine 4 cells into one where the last cell contains a date. Below is the formula I am using:
=B3&" "&C3&" "&D3&" "&TEXT(E3,"m/d/yy")
It works when all of the cells have values, but the only problem I am having is that some of the dates (in column E) are blank. When this cell is blank the default date that displays is "1/0/00." If I add the typical, " " at the end it says the formula has errors. The need for the TEXT(E3,"m/d/yy") for the cells that contain dates is throwing me off.
Convert Imported Text Dates To True Dates
May 18, 2007I have a very large spreadsheet that comes out of SAP and it brings out the majority of cell entries as text ie putting a ' at the begining of any number. the problem that i have is with the cells that have a date in them ie '19/04/07. I have tried varioous methods to remove this and turn the cells into date format but to no avail.

The form has a dynamic element, the user can choose the number of items they are ordering and it unhides the required number of text boxes. To keep the scripting down a did a little work-around to update the database using a loop through the form controls:

Search & Replace Real Dates & Text Dates
Aug 9, 2008I have a macro that searches and replaces dates (both text and date formats) in all files in a folder. It works if I initiate it from the VBA Editor, but not if I initiate it from the file.
It seems that the worksheet is not activating. Please take a look and let me know what I can try.
Things I have already tried: Window methods, such as minimizing the workbook that contains the macro, activate next, etc. Also putting the macro in Personal.xls and retrieving the values from the other file.
Where it hangs is right after the first workbook in the folder is opened. I tried to get it to select A1 in the active sheet but that cell is not selected in either the macro workbook or the newly opened workbook.
Also, if there is an easy way to exclude my macro file (name contains ZZZZ) from the FileSearch............

If date in B2 - date in A2 is 1 or less days, put a 1 in cell C2.
If date in B2 - date in A2 is 7 or less days but more than 1, put a 2 in cell C2.
If date in B2 - date in A2 is 30 or less days but more than 7, put a 3 in cell C2.
If date in B2 - date in A2 is 90 or less days but more than 30, put a 4 in cell C2.
If date in B2 - date in A2 is 91 days or more, put a 5 in cell C2.
OR
Another, maybe simpler, way of saying it is:
If date in B2 - date in A2 is 1 or less days, put a 1 in cell C2.
If date in B2 - date in A2 is 2-7 days, put a 2 in cell C2.
If date in B2 - date in A2 is 8-30 days, put a 3 in cell C2.
If date in B2 - date in A2 is 31-90 days, put a 4 in cell C2.
If date in B2 - date in A2 is 91 days or more, put a 5 in cell C2.
Dates, Number Of Years
Dec 15, 2008I have two dates, one is a start date the other is todays date, I want to subtract the start date from todays date and show the number of years. But a small twist is I only want to take the years away from each other, ignore day/month. Start 01/05/2000 todays date 01/10/2008 years = 8. Start 10/10/2000 todays date 01/10/2008 years = 7, want it to still show 8 years and ignore the start day/month.

Nov 10, 2008I am trying to set up a function to derive a number of days between 2 dates.
Within the table I have an on hire date, and off hire date, and an optional suspend hire date range in 2 other columns - ie. there are 4 columns with dates in.
On hire is in column B; offhire in C; suspend hire in G and recommence hire in H. The optional suspend hire date range will always fall within the main hire date range.
Column I calculates the number of days for the suspend hire period.
My key cut off date is in cell C4.
There are 3 different scenarios I need the function to cover.
1 - if the cut-off date (in C4) is later than recommence hire, calculate the number of days from hire start to cut-off date, less suspend hire period days.
2 - if the cut-off date (in C4) falls within the suspend hire period, calculate the number of days from the hire start to the begining of the suspend hire period.
3 - if the cut-off date (in C4) falls before the suspend hire period, calculate the number of days from the hire start to the cut-off date.
This is the fuction I have written:-

I have been using the following formula =IF($C5="","",MAX(0,MIN(L$1,$C5)-MAX(K$1,$B5))) but when the stay is a full year it is giving me 365 in a single column. I think maybe I need to add in the number of days in the month but not sure how to do it.

Oct 10, 2007I'm currently working on a file that has employee holidays/sickness etc. What I want to do is be able to see is a DATE FROM and DATE TO and next to it the total amount of working days between and including those dates. On top of the since employee's sometimes like to take half days I need it so that it can determine half days as well.
So for example I have an employee going to be off work from 29/10/2007 until 09/11/2007 12pm which is 10.5 days in total, but that includes weekends when I don't want it to.
Also it comes out as 11 days at the moment because I can't figure out how to get it to determine is it is half a day.
What formula should I use or if someone could create an example that would be really usefull :D

How To Assign Week Number Against Dates
Apr 15, 2012We have started a new venture from 5th April & I need to create a template for a year and assign week no against the dates. The week1 will start from 5th April & week 52 will end on 31st March.
Also there will be a summary of the Week No(Starting Date & End Date) against each week at the top of the template. I could put the formula for the summary part but I am unable to figure out how to assign week no against the dates as given below. It is very difficult to assign the week no manually for the whole year & also it is vulnerable to error. a formula across B7:B23 which can deliver the desired result?
