I've created a CommandBar Menu using Macros. It's not a linear code, I've used Do-While to create the different objects and embedded objects. As you can guess all objects refer to the same Macro. And in this Macro is were I've got the problem. I can't come with a code to get the name of the object or the index reference, and thus I can't create the actions for the different objects in the menu.
I have a right click event for a cell where I create a custom commandbar with single or multiple control buttons based on the cell value. I want to link each control button to another cell in the same sheet.
'The following code creates a new commandbar name Visual Basic Editor, which on event delete the VBE module1. How can I tie the built in visual basic editor commandbar to this.
Sub bar() Set mybar = CommandBars("Tools").Controls("Macro") Set mycontrol = mybar.Controls _ .Add(Type:=msoControlButton) With mycontrol .Caption = "Visual Basic Editor" .FaceId = 1 .OnAction = "MySub" End With mycontrol.Visible = True End Sub
Function mysub() With ThisWorkbook.VBProject.VBComponents("ThisWorkbook").CodeModule .DeleteLines 1, .CountOfLines End With End Function
I'm finding that my add-ins that worked perfectly on Excel 2003 are not functioning on Excel 2007. One of the main issues seems to be loading any UserForms that use the RefEdit control. I get a message saying:
I have some excel tools developed in Excel 2003 which uses the date and time picker control (DtPicker). When I open my files in Excel 2007 the DtPicker is missing and the change_event will not load the calendar. I cannot find and activate the datepicker in the Reference base.
My set up office 2007 win xp pro ie 8 I am using the code below to retrieve web pages etc it works fine, however it display in differ areas of the screen, so I was wondering if there is a way to control the positioning and the size of the window?
Code: Set EXP = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.application") EXP.Visible = True EXP.Navigate (aurl)
I have a form that collects four pieces of information from the user and places each into columns A, B, C, D on a sheet. I would like to automatically add an option button to column E so that a user could select it and then click a control button to delete the corresponding row.
Is this possible or is there maybe a better way to do this in Excel 2007.
My drop downs are simple yes/no/NA witht a down arrow apprearing to the right. Works fine for all users except one troublemaker who for some reason sees the text and arrow as a mirrored, upside down image. It's not rotated to be upside down, it's mirrored so if you turned your monitor upside down you'd see the letters in the words backwards as if looking in a mirror. We're both on Excel 2007.
"How to create a 'main' macro to control other macros within a workbook". I have my individual macros created. There's one macro for each sheet that searches online data and returns the information. I have one of these per sheet (a total of 20 sheets) since I couldn't find a way to have all 20 macros be on one sheet and still work. My trouble is that whenever I'm on my 'main' sheet and try to run the macro which applies to a 'secondary' sheet, I get an error. I have to select the sheet first, then run the macro and it works. Below is the macro on each sheet.
VB: Sub Holding1() Dim DataSheet As Worksheet Dim EndDate As Date [code].....
I have a userform with a textbox and would like the user to type inside the textbox which in turn send the text typed to a cell on my spread sheet say sheet 1 cell ref A1. I am writing the following into the control source Sheet1!A1 but the control source does not except this. I am using excel 2007 .
I have a defined range in my workbook which I have not been able to delete (I think it got there through some malware because I didn't create it!)
The main annoyance is that the name refers to another workbook (to which I don't have access) and to a non-existent range therein (resulting in a #REF! error) - so I get the unwanted Update Links message each time I open the workbook. I have created my own workbook with the same name as the workbook referred to by the name, hoping that I may gain some level of control over this gremlin, but to no avail.
The name is "Flow" immediately followed by a thin-lined empty square (like the ANSI character 042 formatted using Wingdings2 font). It could be a line-feed character.
Whatever it is, I have not been able to delete this range name - either directly through the Insert / Name / Define / Delete commands or by using VBA. Using the menu commands I can select the name, edit it (even add a valid cell reference to the workbook name), and click Add - but that just adds a new name "Flow" without the control character and the original name remains! The original name also remains if I select the name and click Delete.
I want to delete a picture from an image control in a worksheet when pressing a button. So my code is:
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click() Sheets("Sheet1").Image1.Picture = LoadPicture("") End Sub
Well, the problem is that this code only works when I create it. If I save and close the excel file when I open it again and I press the CommandButton1 I get the following error: Run-time error '-2147417848(80010108)' Method "Picture of object "IImage" failed.
I have this code below which creates a CommandBar but my problem is that I thought the line of Code .Width 100 would make the width of the actual CommandBar increase if I adjusted that number, but this doesnt seem to be the case. The title in only shows Nursing Sta instead of Nursing Staff Rota. How can I make the CommandBar wider than is?
I am trying to disable a shortcut menu for a commandbar I created. I am able to disable all shortcut menus for all commandbars with this:
Application.ShortcutMenus(1).Enabled = False
But, I'm not trying to disable rightclicking for all commandbars, just one. Is that possible? As far as I can tell, the "shorcutmenus" property is a direct child of application.
I am familiar how to perform the task of bringing in an access table into excel, then using a data validation filter to control the data set in Excel 2003.
I have programmed an Excel file that removes all the standard commandbars from Excel and then opens a custom commandbar, I built, with limited functionality ( Named "Limited"). When I open this file on another computer, since that custom commandbar does not exist in that copy of Excel no Limited commandbar shows. So I created a macro that builds the custom commandbar when a file is opened. What I want is when the file is opened on subsequent times that it checks to see if that commandbar already exists. If it does, it skips the macro which builds this custom commandbar for the first time. It then disables the standard Excel commandbars (code written already) and enables the "Limited" commandbar (code aleardy written).
How can I save a new xlt or xls so that the toolbar settings I am viewing will always reload with excel. I have tried purging all items from my xlstart locations, but unwanted (and unchecked) toolbars keep reappearing when I restart excel.
I am not the best at this, but we recorded a macro and we want to delete whole rows after we 'control' find something from a specific column. WHen we recorded our macro, it finds the first instance and we hightlight the whole row and 'control' 'shift' 'end' and delete all of the rows. We did this because we sorted and made sure the information we wanted to delete was at the bottom of the worksheet. we realized that each day the spreadsheet we pull from an ip address gets bigger and the row that we started from to delete starts on a different row each day. How do we get all the information to delete everyday, even when the row that Owned starts on changes? ...
I have create a Command Bar, my problem I'm trying to understand is this 1.Can you amend the font colour of the any Captions on the CommandBar? 2.How can I get the Caption to pick up from a range and use the range name as the Caption?
I have named a range in a worksheet that I want to pick up and use as the range. Below is my CommandBar code
I had made a Workbook with my own command Bars, and everthing is ok .. the problem is when i copy it to anthor pc. i have got an error msg. and when i check the code (debug) i've found the problem is with that command bars ( it's missing ) and now the Q is:

I want to select a date of choice from a calendar in a field within an Excel spreadsheet.
I do not know how to do userforms and so that is why I wonder if I can add this in just a spreadsheet.
This is how far I have gotten so far: After doing the following, I have a static calendar setting in my spreadsheet like a text box showing the current date.
Developer Insert More Controls Calendar Control 12.0
In any open (new or existing) workbook (Excel 2007), I cannot delete a column by right clicking the column header and highlighting the entire column. The "delete" word is greyed out and not selectable. I CAN however still delete a column by going to the "Cells" toolbar, then "Delete" pulldown menu, then "Delete Sheet Columns". Right clicking the column header is much simpler and easier.
BTW, I can still delete rows by both methods of right clicking on the row header and by going to the Cells toolbar.
I am using excel 2007 and when I right click on the worksheet tab, delete is greyed out. My workbook/sheet is not shared. I also had the problem owith row and columns. CommandBars("row").Reset sorted that out but I can't seem to sot out the tab issue.
I have a file that has an original file format .xls
I saved as .xlsx (I am using Excel 2007) with a different name so I could make changes to the new file without changing the original.
That turn off compatibility mode.... but it is still "shared". While it is shared I cannot delete a sheet. In fact, I really don't even want it to be shared. If the file is open, and someone else opens it, I want it to open as "read only". I cannot uncheck the "Allow changes by more than one user at the same time. This also allows workbook merging." checkbox because it is greyed out.
I have two spreadsheets. one contains a master list of computer names. the other contains a list of computer names to be removed from the master list (exception list).
I need to go through the master list and remove any computer names that are on the exception list- for example, if 'computer1' is in the exception list, i have to find and remove 'computer1' from the master list.
The exception list is quite long, and I want to automate this process if possible. not sure how to achieve this.
