Delete Worksheet With VBA From Different Workbook?
Dec 9, 2011
I am running VBA that will open a new workbook, at the end of that VBA code I have a line of code that reads:
Code:
Sheets("Sheet1").Select
ActiveWindow.SelectedSheets.Delete
When the code hits those lines it throws a VBA error 400. What do I need to do to have Sheet1 deleted from the "new" workbook?

I am trying to have an operation run when opening the Workbook. The UserForm opens fine, but I get an error when the GoButton_Click sub runs. The error file is not very comprehensive.
The user is promoted to 'Delete' or 'Cancel' before the sheet is deleted. I do want to select 'Delete' for the user, but I'm not sure how to do this.
The error mentioned occurs after the user selects 'Delete'. The error is:
Run-time error '-2147417848 (80010108)':
Automation error
The object envoked has disconnected from its clients.
VB:
Option Explicit
Private Sub UserForm_Initialize()
Me.Choices.List = Array("Choice 1", "Choice 2")
End Sub
Private Sub GoButton_Click()
If Templates = "Choice 1" Then

I'm trying to find a way to save a single sheet of an excel workbook and in the same process delete all vba code and shapes from the new single sheet workbook. I was looking around and found this code which does save only the single sheet to a new one sheet workbook but doesn't delete the vba and shape that I have used to assign macros to in the original.
Code:
Sub SaveSheetAsNewBook()
Dim wb As Workbook
Dim InitFileName As String
Dim fileSaveName As String
Dim wshape As Shape
InitFileName = ThisWorkbook.Path & Format(Date, "mm.dd.yy")
[code]....

I am looking for a code that would copy the data from each worksheet in a given workbook and then paste to just one worksheet within a different workbook. The Sheet names are auto generated when I run this canned report but the naming structure is always the same...the first worksheet is named Repair Details and then the next sheet is named Repair Details_1, the next sheet is named Repair Details_2 and so on for every sheet in workbook. So I would like to copy all of the data(Headers to last cell) and then paste in a worksheet(ex: Master Repair Report.xlsx and the worksheet could be titled Master Repair Details) on a different workbook, then the next sheet would copy from the one under the header to the last record and paste to the same workbook. This process would repeat for every worksheet in the Repair Details Workbook and paste to Master Repair Details worksheet in the Master Repair Report workbook.

I need to copy a range of values (actually two ranges). The ranges are of fixed size. Le't say A2:D20 and E2:H20.
Both workbooks have the exact same layout, and they both have the same named worksheet (in this case it's called Entry). However the actual filename of the source workbook is unknown. I know numerous users have changed the filename of the xls file.
I want to instruct them to open the old and new workbook, and open a third workbook containing the copy macro, they run the macro and it copies the data.
How can I reference a known worksheet name but of an unknown workbook name esp when the source and destination share the worksheet name?

I am maintaining an issues list in excel. File contains two worksheets/tabs: 1) Open Issues & 2)Closed Issues
One of the columns is Status. When an issues is in 'Complete' status, it is removed from Open Issues and added onto the 'Closed Issues' worksheet.
There are many issues closed daily and its quite a manual task to individually delete rows in one sheet and paste them at the end of the last row in the other sheet. Want to have a button/macro that would find any rows that have the cell for the status column w/ value 'Complete', delete it from 'Open Issues' sheet, and append it to the 'Closed Issues' shseet.
ive done basic c++ programing years ago, but know nothing about vba or excel macros.

I have a Excel workbook with two sheets - 'MainDataSheet' and 'ArchiveSheet' .
The 'MainDataSheet' has 5 columns and one of the column is 'status'.
The 'MainDataSheet' will have a command button 'MoveData' which will trigger the VBA macro to move data rows from 'MainDataSheet' to 'ArchiveSheet' . Only the rows having value set to "MOVE" in the 'status' column have to be moved.

Is it possible for a workbook to delete itself after two weeks or by date since putting in VBA codes?
Or does it have to be active to be able to delete itself.
I'll be going away for a holiday in two weeks (yepeee) and the person who's taking over my place will only use it on first day of my absent.
I do not want others to use my file (of course I'll back it up before I'll go).

I want to delete all macros from my workbook (so it will work well in Mac 2008). I went to Alt-F11 and deleted all Macros there and check every sheet and found no references. I did all that and when I try to open it in Excel for Mac it says there are still Macros.
How can I ensure my workbook has no macros?

I was trying to print a workbook which was about perhaps 20-30 sheets of roughly one page of printed info each. However, I saw the print job and it said it was printing over 7,000 pages!!!
It turns out there were about 4-5 worksheets which were blank (and also didn't have gridlines even though gridlines were checked on in options).
When I switched the sheets to page break view, lo and behold each sheet contained a few thousands "pages". I simply can't seem to reduce it down to a relatively normal size.
I tried going right past the edges of page 1 and deleting all columns/rows to the right and bottom of it to no avail. I selected the whole worksheet and removed all borders and any cell content with no luck.
I saw other "solutions" on the internet about copy/pasting the other unaffected sheets to a new workbook and deleting, but this seems cumbersome.

An old post provided the following macros that purportedly prevent users from deleting a worksheet. Unfortunately, it also makes it so you can't delete ANY worksheet in ANY file, which is of course not what was intended. Need figure a way to remove this nuisance? All attempts to delete a sheet keep looking back to the offending workbook, even though the macro has since been deleted from it.
Try pasting the following two event procedures into the Help sheet module:
'==========================>>
Private Sub Worksheet_Activate()
Dim CB As CommandBar
Dim Ctrl As CommandBarControl
For Each CB In Application.CommandBars
Set Ctrl = CB.FindControl(ID:=847, recursive:=True)
If Not Ctrl Is Nothing Then
Ctrl.OnAction = "RefuseToDelete"
Ctrl.State = msoButtonUp
End If
Next
End Sub................
