I am looking for a macro or someway that I can delete data out of a workbook that dont contain specific data. On the example shown below, if in column E it dont say one of the following Nhampton, euston, tring, bletchley, Nhamp Emd, Nhamp NJ, Nhamptn RS, Watford Jn, Bltchly MD, Bedford, Bletch CS or M keynes I need the row totally deleted.

I need a quick macro that will search column D for the words "balance forward" then delete the entire row. The macro needs to loop through many rows and it contain more than one "balance forward" reference.
I have been trying to create a macro vba that will look at a specific row in the current sheet and if it sees a name I need to delete that row. But I am looking to also under stand what it is doing so I can use this script in other instances. I just bought some things off MrExcel's Store but i won't get this for a few days.
I have a large report that I pull each month listing which products we sold last month. There are certain products I don't want included in the report. Until I can have the report re-written, I'm looking for a macro or a function that will find all the rows that contain these product numbers in column M and delete the entire row. The product numbers I need to delete are always the same, but some months one or more of them might not be in the report if they weren't sold.
In Summary:
Find in column M the product numbers: c1000 316140a 316140 316295a 316295 316311a 316311 316451a 316451 316450a 316450 316452a 316452
Delete those rows containing the product numbers above
I need a Macro that will search all of the cells for specific text, and delete all cells containing the text. I prefer to make a list of the specific texts and run macro to find all of them and delete all cells containing the text. I need to be able to add some more text into the list in future.
I have a sheet of data. The data starts in row 4 and can be variable in length. I want to delete rows that do not meet a specific criteria, for example a location, Leeds, which is in column "i" of the table. I have written the below but it seems to delete data from row 1 rather than row 4 and repeat down each row
Code below
Sub deleterows() Dim i As Integer Dim intCounter As Integer Dim strLocation() As String
p = Range(Cells(4, 6), Cells(4, 6).End(xlDown)).count
Currently I am using the Kickbutt VBA Find Function of Aaron, but I would like to have something that works more efficiently. What I currently do is (assuming all possible values for Column J are A - F):
although I just want some code that says: delete all rows except those that have "F" as content in Column J. I already tried something like:
Range("1:65536").Select For Each cl In Range("J:J") If cl.Text = "A" Or cl.Text = "B" Or cl.Text = "C" Or cl.Text = "D" Or cl.Text = "E" Then Rows(cl.Row).Delete End If Next
but it also takes much to long. The major problem I think, is that the number of records is variable so I search the entire worksheet...
I created the following macro to remove all rows that contain the value 'Shutdown" in column F
Code:
Sub DeleteUniqueValues() Dim LR As Long, i As Long LR = Range("F" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row For i = LR To 3 Step -1 With Range("F" & i) If WorksheetFunction.CountIf(Columns("F"), .Value) = Shutdown Then .EntireRow.Delete End With Next i End Sub
The macro runs without error, but when I checked the spreadsheet, rows matching this criteria were not deleted.
is there a code to chose certain rows using there numbers (Row number 3 to row number 9) to be deleted? yes, there is a code to delete the selected rows, but what i am after is a code to chose rows by thier numbers like delete from row3 to row9?
I need to have my macro select all buttons in the current row (including the button I clicked on and delete them. There are many rows with buttons. Each row needs to have this button. So I need it to be row specific.
I know that this is how to select the row that the button is in:
But I do not know how to select the buttons in that row. It needs to be included in this:
VB: Sub move() Dim shname As String, sh1 As Worksheet, lc As Long, rw As Long Set sh1 = ActiveSheet lc = sh1.Cells.Find("*", , , , 2, 2).Column rw = sh1.Buttons(Application.Caller).TopLeftCell.Row
[Code] .....
After many attempts and alot of research, I have some more code for this problem: This deletes all buttons in the sheet:
VB: Sub DeleteShapes() Dim shp As Shape Dim myVar As Shapes ActiveSheet.Activate
[Code] .....
And this deletes the current button only:
VB: Sub pressbuttons() With ActiveSheet.Buttons(Application.Caller) .Delete End With End Sub
Any way to either limit the first code to just a particular row, or expand the second one to the entire row.
I have 2 spreadsheets of delivery information. Sheet 1 contains data of all stores in the UK with addresses. Sheet 2 containts contacts of all stores that promotional matrial needs to be sent to.
The only common cell in a column of 4 digit store numbers.
I need to delete all rows from sheet 1 that do not contain a value in the store number column that is displayed on sheet 2.
I want to delete a specific words from string but i have a problem with the code below. For example, i wan to delete the word "Inc" only but the problem with my code is that it is deleting from "Incorporated" too and i want only the code to delete only if it finds the word "Inc" only.
I have written such loop which I want to delete entire row when a given cell is empty:
Code: lastrow = Cells(Rows.Count, "A").End(xlUp).Row For Counter = lastrow To 2 Step -1 If Cells(Counter, 6).Value = "" Then Selection.Rows(Counter).EntireRow.Delete End If Next
It works not the way I want. It has ommited some blank rows and also removes 5th row everytime I run it.
If I have a column of data called "ColStream" and want to delete all rows that don't contain the string "Production", whats the best way to achieve it?
I have tried a for each loop, with INSTR but as this moves down a cell from the cell whose row has just been deleted, skipping the "NEXT" row in the range, it doesn't give the correct results.
Incidentally, the end game is to copy all the remaining cells to the cell immediately below a cell called "StreamsDatabaseStart" in a worksheet called "ProdStreams" should anyone out there be feeling particularly charitable!
I have a macro that delete's a row when a cell in that row contains a specific value. I am unable to make the macro work automaticly when the file opens.
Sub Delete_Rows() Dim rng As Range, cell As Range, del As Range Set rng = Intersect(Range("A1:F400"), ActiveSheet.UsedRange) For Each cell In rng
I need a formula that finds a value or range of values in a list and if the value meets the criteria automaticaly delete that row. For example I want to search B3:B7 for a 0 value if I find a cell in that range with a 0 value i want the formula to delete the entire row.
I need a formula which can clean up a huge data set. Essentially i need to delete the entire word which contains the characters "aceae". note that "aceae" is a suffix, but i need to delete the entire word not just the suffix, plus keep the rest of the string. i have tried the "find and replace" function of excel with wildcard, but that deletes everything before/after without deleting the entire word. i have tried a combination of formulas to isolate the unwanted words, but that method is inefficient and inaccurate. below is a schematic of what im looking to do:
Column A ------------------------------ Column B l. planeri asteraceae africa laselva-----> l. planeri africa laselva l. planeri moraceae europe singer------> l. planeri europe singer origin l. fluviatilis bignoniaceae asia----> origin l. fluviatilis asia alternate l. fluviatilis piperaceae asia---> alternate l. fluviatilis asia
A macro that will delete a tab or tabs in a file if and only if rows 11, 13, 23 & 25 are completely blank within that tab? So basically ALL rows would need to be blank, if there is any data within any of those rows, then tab should NOT be deleted.
I'm trying to loop thru the worksheets(which are imported from a web form in Outlook) and delete row 31 until the text "PARTS" is reached. I need to do this to format each sheet exactly for export to an Access database. The code below works when I step thru it but when I save and run from a button it gets stuck in an endless loop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. JB
Sub DeleteRow31() Dim w As Worksheet Dim rng As Range For Each w In Worksheets w.Select
Do Until Cells(31, "B") = "PARTS:" Range("B31").Select Range("B31:K31").UnMerge Range("B31").Select If Not Cells(31, "B") = "PARTS:" Then Selection.EntireRow.Delete End If Loop Next w End Sub
I am trying to create a chart that will Add or Remove data entries as toggle buttons are clicked. I've fallen at the first hurdle. When I remove one series from the source data, all the SeriesCollection numbers will change down. e.g. ->
ActiveChart.SeriesCollection(2).Delete
where (2) will change to (1) when I delete a series. This then screws up subsequent Removal macros. Is there any way I can either lock the SeriesCollection number?
