Jun 6, 2008the active sheet contains a number of defined named ranges. i would like to delete range names beginning with "Sales", yet the number of defined ranges changed from sheet to sheet = for example, Sheet1 may have 3 defined ranges (Sales1, Sales2, Sales 3), Sheet 2 may have 1 (Sales 1). Is it possible to included a wildcard search in the following code?

How To Find Specific Word And Sum The Column According To That Word
Mar 14, 2014I would like to have a formula find a specific word in column L and return the sum from column E for the same fund from column C.
I tried using =SUMIF(L:L,"*annual*",E:E) but that gives me the sum of annual for the entire column. I need to be able to specify the fund.
word "annual" also appears in "semi annual" so I need to be able to separate the two.

Jun 18, 2014I have a row (will always be row 3) where each cell contains a day of the week, the days repeats for a year or so, making the row almost 400 cells.
Like this,
Mo - Tu - We - Th - Fr - Sa - Su - Mo - Tu - We - Th - Fr - Sa - Su - and so on...
Though, A3 doesn't have to be "Mo" because the days in this case can change (A3 can start with "Tu"), hence I think I need a macro.
So if this row contains a weekend, "Sa or "Su" I want all the cells in the column beneath that which contains a specific value to be cleared.
Example, if "Sa" or "Su" has 3 values in the columns under them, all the values that contain "X" or "Y" has to be cleared.
Like this:
Rows (1,2,3...,)
1----
2----
3 Mo - Tu - We - Th - Fr - Sa - Su - .. and so on..
4 A --- B --- X --- Y --- X --- B --- Y
5 A --- B --- X --- Y --- X --- X --- X

After the macro it should be:

Add A Word Before Every Line In Cells
Nov 27, 2013I have hundreds of lines with unique tasks in each cell. I wanted to add 'P&C- ' to the front of each task and do not want to go through and add individually as it will take take.
Is there anything that can place in one cell and just drag to the last cell and complete?
E.g.
Current Cell: Task A
What I need: P&C- Task A
I cannot add attachments as my work seems to have a restriction on doing it and always asks for admin password

Apr 8, 2008I have a spreadsheet where there is a white line that is over a row line. No matter what I do I cannot seem to delete it.
I zoom in but I cannot select it.
I change the border of the cells and it will not disappear.
I am completely lost as to what else it could be, no doubt it is a simple answer that is staring me in the face. I inherited the spreadsheet so not sure what was done in the past.

Sum all cells that the adjacent cell contains the reference "Raffle 0001" but not "Raffle 0002" this needs to be calculated on another cell
Sum all cells that the adjacent cell contains the reference "Rescue" this cell could contain other text as well, so could say "Rescue for Sweetie by Laura Herarty" or "Rescue for Bliss by Jane Telford" all need to be calculated.

Jun 24, 2014I know Excel is not the best tool for formatting sentences, but is there a way to insert a Line-Break based on a condition? (Either using Formula or VBA).
The situation is:A fixed-width cell, is a concatenation of 5 strings. Each of these 5 strings is a small sentence of 3-6 words; individually much smaller than the cell-width.2 of these 5 are fixed (one at start, one at the end). The other 3 are results of their respective "IF" formulas.Hence, the final sentence wraps over 2-3 lines.I need the 3rd & 5th sentence (the whole sentence, all 3-6 words of it) to start in a new line, only if they are going to be wrapped into two lines.
So If the wrapping results in:

Then change it to:
