Dynamic Link Between Table And Chart

I m trying to make an Excel Charts that would update according to the choice made in a control box. I have uploaded the example test.xls. If you open the file, you ll see the graph is link to product 1. What I d like to do is if I choose product 2,3 or 4 from the control box, the chart updates itself to the good corresponding product.

I have a table of company data, and I want to be able to select different companies data and create a chart automatically perhaps by pressing a 'create' button.
The table data contains three values I want to populate in the chart: red & green sales which I would like shown as a stacked bar, and red as a percentage of total sales which I would like on a different axis as a line.
I tried to create a macro but my VBA skills are almost non-existent.

I'm using a table with dynamic data to populate a column/line chart.
The data is based on monthly targets achieved and forecasted. With each month, the information will update. The graph needs to have only the current month and future months to be displayed and I don't want to include the previous months information in the chart. The information in the chart automatically updates and loses the previous month's data. Unfortunately, the graph plots the blank data and has a blank entry on the graph. This means that the information I need starts in the middle of the chart and has a line that shoots up from 0 to the current month's value.
Is there any way that I can omit the month altogether?
The data source I am using is below:

As you can see, July August and September are not included. I want to be able to start the graph from October in the above example. In the following month, I want to use the same data but October Figures will not be required. How can I achieve this?

My boss wants me to design a dynamic, updatable chart in Excel 2003. I initially made a Pivot Chart based on a Pivot Table which worked perfectly, but it doesn't look professional enough when printed (or viewed) and she wants me to approach it a different way.
So, I created a graph based on the data in a Pivot Table, and used dynamic ranges as the source for the graph series so that the chart updates when the criteria fields are changed for the Pivot Table. I then added two combo boxes (ie data validation lists) to the Chart sheet, and wrote VBA code so that whenever the combo box values are changed, the Criteria fields for the Pivot Table on the 2nd sheet are updated accordingly, and this in turn causes the graph to be updated as well.
This solution also worked perfectly, but now I've been told to create the graph without macros.
Does anyone have any suggestions? The requirements/details are as follows:
1. The Pivot Table is on sheet "PIVOT", and the graph is on sheet "GRAPH"
2. The Pivot Table has two criteria - School Name and Year Level
3. On sheet "GRAPH" there are two data-validated fields, School and Year, which only allow the selection of valid Schools and Year Levels
Is there any way to make the Pivot Table update when values are changed in the fields on the CHART sheet so that the chart also updates, but without using code nor a Pivot Chart?

There are two teams in my department, and each is assigned to maintain their respective work book and I'm looking to link them in order to save some time.
Team A - Responsible for receiving Invoices (Bills) and entering them in an excel spreadsheet when received and update when bill is paid. Only one tab in this workbook.
Row A - Name of company billing us
Row B - Invoice #
Row C - Invoice Amount
Row D - Once Bill is paid the check amount is entered here
Row E - Balance Due (Row C - Row D = Row E)
Team B - Is Responsible for maintaining a list of all checks issued. All of the checks issued to pay the bills received by Team A are entered here plus other checks to pay a variety of different stuff. On this workbook a new tab is created every month. One tab per month. Since we need to follow accounting rules and record the check NOT on the month it was paid, but on the month the service was provided. for example I might be paying a bill in the month of November for services that were provided in September, so I would need to enter this check in the September Tab.
Row A - Name of company check is paid to
Row B - Invoice #
Row C - Amount Requested to be paid
Row D - Reason for payment
Row E - Date of check issued
Row F - Amount paid
Row G - Check #
Here is what I want to do.
I want to link both of these workbooks so that when Team B fills out the information of the check issued this will automatically update the Workbook of Team A so that
the balance is zeroed out.
He is my challenge. Workbook of Team B has multiple tabs so I can't just do a simple Vlookup and also every month a new tab is created (very dynamic workbook).
TO add to this in Team B's worksheets have to be in alphabetical order, which means that rows are inserted everyday. for example if I paid yesterday to A and C, I enter company A in Row1 and Company C in row 2 but today I received invoice from Company B so in order for them to be alphabetically I would need to insert a row between Row1 and Row2. So if I had links to this workbook they wold not update when the new row is added.

It mentioned something about getting comments which display dynamic data as if something metioned in the cells will appear in the comment and on changing the data in the cells, the data in the comments also changes with it..
Unfortunately, I could not save that file or remember the website as my Internet went bonkers...
So can someone please help me with the same....

I currently have a file that is linked to an external workbook that is referencing a certain cell from a certain tab. The below is what Column A & B look like right now. What I'm wanting to know is is there a way to have the formula in Column B automatically reference the name in Column A (which is the tab name in the external workbook) instead of having to manually change the formula when the value in Column A changes?
In other words, I want everything in the external reference formula to remain the same except have the person's name change dynamically...

I have a dynamic table which is linked to a couple of charts. The table must remain dynamic.
I needed to add two new columns to the table, "Focus Area" and "Category". I need a drop down list in the "Category" column to be dependent on the item selected from a drop down menu in "Focus Area".
I can get the first row of the dynamic table to do this.... however; subsequent rows all lock the drop down list in the "Category" column to the same choices regardless of what is chosen in the "Focus Area" list.
Is there a way to make dynamic drop downs within a dynamic table?

I am not sure if this is possible. I wish to have a chart in a worksheet linked to a stock chart on a webpage.
For example, consider this chart on Yahoo Finance. At present every week, I have to go to the webpage and copy the chart and then paste it into a worksheet.
Is there a way I can automate this task by linking the chart to an Excel object or by any other way?

I have a periodic task which involves moving some sheets from an existing workbook and presenting it in a new workbook. There are some diagram that I move as well from the worksheet. However, I also move the source data for the diagrams into the new workbook as well. Everytime I do this I need to change the source data to the new worksheet which is quite tiresome. Is there a smart hack to actually point the diagram source data to the new workbook?

I'd like a bar chart that will only display bars for positive values. So, if a cell has 0, it won't display anything. I.E. - if i have 10 fields and only 5 of them have values greater than 0, my chart will only display 5 bars instead of 5 bars and 5 empty fileds. kind of like piezeros, but for a bar chart.

I am trying to create a bar graph from a table which is pasted below. Two important things here are :
1. The range of the data for the graph are not adjacent. For the chart, the range will be columns D, F,H and J.
2. The range of the chart will not be static. As per the table below, it is uptill August but next month another row will be inserted and the range will increase by 1 row.

I have a static table that contains a list of all posible components for a particular product that we sell. The sheet successfully calculates the qty. of each component required for a particular install.
What I would like to be able to do is to create a new list able from the static one that only shows the components that are needed i.e. those that don't have a zero qty count.
I have seen some examples that come close on YouTube but can't find anything that does exactly this.

(I am using different data IRL which is company sensitive so I have designed a simple example spreadsheet.)
Ok, So I have a list of words A2:A4 and I have created a Control Box which allows me to select which word I want from the list.
On a separate tab I have lists of data which relates to individual words from the A2:A4 list.
What I what to achieve is when the word is selected from the drop down menu it will create a Pie chart showing me the break down of percentages and attributing 'companies'.

I have a stock chart that I want to update dynamically if the data record length changes. From the source data menu, I tried to use the following data ranges:
=OFFSET(Candles!$AB$8,1,0,COUNTA($AB:$AB)) ---> Date, x values
=OFFSET(Candles!$AD$8,1,0,COUNTA($AD:$AD)) ---> High
=OFFSET(Candles!$AE$8,1,0,COUNTA($AE:$AE)) ---> Low
=OFFSET(Candles!$AF$8,1,0,COUNTA($AF:$AF)) ---> Close
When I place any of these in the data range box under 'x axis labels or values', I receive the message "This function is not valid".
The MS webpage at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...098011033.aspx describes using these formulas but they don't appear to work.

I am trying to develop a dynamic stacked bar chart, I have a consistent number of columns defining the x axis and a variable number of rows defining the y axis (the stacked data). Is it possible to generate a dynamic stacked chart. I have tried using dynamic named ranges but I can't get it to work for a stacked chart.

I have a template I used where, over the course of a month, I add an additional row of information (the 31 rows are there, just the information is inserted with macros every day). The charts, though, are daily, meaning that every day I need the charts to show information from the last row entered. How do I instruct a chart to take the last row of information and take the data from there (and automatically create the chart) instead of having to do it manually?

I have data in a matrix captured for the different machines we have. I need to make a pareto chart for the PPM's in each machine. This is updated everyday so i recorded a very primitive macro just to avoid making the 15 graphs i need as i have to filter the zero cells, then sort them descending and then making the graph....
The only way of making this in a more lean way is using a vba code?? do you know an already made code i can use for it?? i've searched the site with no luck. Here's a brief example of what i have:

I have graphed a range of data that was generated using VB, but the data is a series of 6 models plotted against each other over a period of 6 years and the data is daily and as such would be useful to reduce the range to look at certain periods , is it possible to do this using the mouse to select a region or would something like embeded text boxes for the ranges of dates the user could enter be better, or would it be better to move away from excel for this part of it be better. Also is it possible to plot say range A1:A5 and A20:A25 against the the relevent dates to examine two separate periods side on side.

I have a chart that display data from a dynamic named range. Problem is the chart only displays the correct data when I first input the named range into the data source on the first attempt. When the dynamics of the named range change, the range the chart displays remains the same. I have read another post on here where someone had the solution, but I couldnt get it to work for me.
I am inputting the named range into Data Source-> Data Range. The other thread said to put the named range into Data Source-> Series. I am unable to enter my named range into Series. I have also tried putting the .xls filename followed by !(named range) into the series boxes but excel will not allow me to do this either.

I'm working with a pie chart that has a dynamic range as its data source and a dynamic range as its legend. The chart shows ratios of bought items depending on customer type. So, when you switch from a "Hair" customer to a "Bath & Body" customer, the ratios shift and the legend changes as well (i.e. "Hair - 25%" to "Hair - 10%").
Is there a way to fix the colors permanently so that as the ranges change, the colors remains the same for each category?
I've seen some VBA for it, but it was for data in long columns, whereas my data is in one range in the middle of the worksheet.
I can attach the file if it makes things easier.
