Excel 2003 :: Macro That Clears Option Buttons Made With The Control Toolbox?

I created some excel 2003 spreadsheets to use for Fire/Police dispatchers. I have a series of yes/no option buttons that were created using the control toolbox. I have a macro that clears all the blanks where text is added, but want to add a line that clears the option buttons also.

Im trying to create many option buttons on my sheet and then change the GroupName and Name properties but im having no luck in accessing the properties. Here is the code ive got at the moment, could someone tell me how to access these properties. Shown below is a small section of the code, if you require the full code i will happily provide it. This is my first post and im not sure if this code tag thing has been done properly:

I am attempting to put in some dropdown boxes and text boxes and maybe some other items using the control toolbox in Excel. After a selection is made I would like to count that particular item. I was using the validation method in which all I needed was the following to sum up the selections made: =SUMIF(G:G,"Monday",I:I)
Now I realize this will not work due to the fact the control toolbox controls are embeded and merley sit on the cells. How do I sum selections made using drop down boxes that are derived from the control toolbox? If someone can give me an example to try or point me to a place to find such information that would be great.

I have a spread sheet and I want to have multiple option buttons on it. but for separate things
e.g. I need roughly 50 option buttons. however. I want about 25 groups of them.
so I want 2 buttons next to a cell where user can select one. then I want 2 more on cells below where user selects one for a different question
but at the moment, every single option box copies every other box when I changed the format control cell reference. even though I haven't copied and pasted them!

I have a user form set-up that has four option buttons on it. I have them set so that when the user clicks on one of them the others are unset, however for some reason the user is having to double click on the buttons before they are set (with a black dot in them). It is as if the first click sets focus and the second click sets the button.
Can i amend it somehow so that the user only has to click once?

I have several option groups (Y & N in each) linked to cells to display TRUE / FALSE depending on which option is selected in each group. I have another cell which I want to apply conditional formatting to if EITHER Y or N is selected in all groups. At present I use COUNTIF to check for FALSE=0 in the linked cells which works if all the answers are Y. How do I apply CF if there is a mixture of Y & N (TRUE / FALSE) in all groups (I'm not sure if I've explained that well or not).

I have a bunch of Option Buttons in a worksheet whose properties i need to change by running a macro. For example, I created an OptionButton1 in a worksheet using control toolbox. Now I want to run a macro to change it's name, groupname, linkedcell and caption. I did this macro but it doesn't work:

i have been having this problem with my version of excel at work and it is driving me crazy. First of all this is excel 2000. For a while now I have been unable to use the control toolbox - when I click it - nothing happens. In the meantime I havent been doing anthing really serious so I used the forms toolbar. I have tried using the control toolbox in word - and it works - just in case someone had been messing around and uninstalling things. Is there anyway that I have hidden it somewhere?

I have added a button to asign a macro to but for the life of me cant see how to "activate" the button. I am trying to click the button to make the macro run but it keeps selecting the button like it wont come out of design view.

I've just finished writing some vb code that i need to assign to a button. Trouble is I select the control toolbox and put it design mode and all of the icons with the tool box are greyed out. pic attached below

Problem solved: I inadvertently had selected more than one worksheet tab and this was stopping me from placing a button on the worksheet.

i've gotta demo an Excel app in a few days and this never really bothered me, but someone recently pointed out that it can get distracting for the Control Toolbox to pop in and out randomly. the form is being built for use by other staff, and i suppose it would also be distracting for them if the toolbox arbitrarily appeared here and there. is there a way to turn it off?

I have a spreadsheet with check boxes and a combo box that are set to display in print preview as well as print. I have set up a Print Preview button on this spreadsheet, as well. When you click the Print Preview button and then click close on the preview window and return to the spreadsheet, the control toolbox tools appear out of place and are greatly magnified. Scrolling the screen down and then back makes them appear correctly once again.
I have seen this on this spreadsheet on three different computers. Does anyone have a clue what is going on?
Note, clicking the print preview button on the standard toolbar does not provide the same artifact. It works correctly.
Or for the cheap fix, what is the VB script to move the cursor to a different cell and then return back?

I've started experiencing a strange problem. The control toolbox keeps appearing when the first page on a multipage userform is activated. I can't figure out what's causing this, and after searching the forum, with no luck, I thought I would see if anybody else is experiencing the same problem, and how to fix it.

I have an excel workbook where on several of the worksheets I have Control Toolbox Textboxes inserted into the sheet. The Textboxes are for when a user wants to type notes onto the worksheet.
My issue is that the Textboxes do not allow the user to edit the font because the VBA project is locked.
How can I allow users to edit the font in the Textbox without giving the VBA password away to the user?

I've built the code for a Template form for data entry of a survey. Through Control Toolbox I've created the form and used several textboxes, option buttons, checkboxes and COMBO boxes this one in turn being my trouble.
- Sheet one is called "Data" (this is the place where all inserted information is going to be stored
- Sheet two: "Variables" (here is where I keep the required values for the como boxes - inserted manually apriorely...
Question: What is the code to assing to the combo boxes in order to have the values from the sheet "Variables" of the range A1:A4 - use the comboboxq2 for referee, I'll do the others

My problem is I cannot copy from a Form Control drop down box, and I need to do this for ~10 drop down boxes in about 200 xls files. The files follow a template so the drop down button Inputs are uniform. Here is some more detail:
I’m building an Access Database so that our data (currently in many, many Excel Spreadsheets) can be efficiently queried. The old system was that when asset data was collected, the data would be entered into an Excel spreadsheet, using a Template. So for example:

We have hundreds of these files, but I managed to get all the files in one folder and Paste and Transpose the data from the relevant Cell Ranges in each file (using a VB sub) into ONE summary sheet. Success; or so I thought.
Unfortunately for one generation of the template (people changed them slightly every year), the template had people enter information into Drop Down Menus. Not a problem when they’re associated with a cell, but these were free floating Form Controls.. so you can’t actually click and copy from them, or call them in VB as you would a specific cell.. afaik.
So my issue is how can I extract the data from those Form Buttons? I’ll try and provide as much info as I can:
Firstly I tried to find some sort of identifier for each Form Button. The dropdowns are called Combo Boxes, (Developer tab > Insert > Combo Box (Form Control) ), and when you select them (by right clicking) and hit the View Code button in Developer Tab > Controls the following shows up in VB.

I’m guessing that the number is related to the button so that’s one useful thing, an identifier of sorts. There’s no actual code there though really from what I can see.. My problem is I have no idea how to extract from DropDown44!
The range of values in the drop down comes from a separate sheet where there’s just a list of the values. There aren’t any cells linked to the drop downs though. If I enter a cell in (Right Click) Format Control > Cell link: then it prints the number (e.g. 4) of the value in the range. So if the drop down options are “Monday”, “Tuesday”, “Wednesday”, “Thursday” and “Thursday” is selected, the linked cell says: “4”.
They didn’t link a cell, then I could call that cell in a VB sub and the job would be done. Unfortunately they didn’t, so I tried Recording a Macro and selecting the drop down form control.. That didn’t really work, except if I right clicked it, I got some more info from the macro VB:

So is my drop down an Array? My understanding of an Array is that it’s a list of arguments.. all I get there is the name of the button. I am not experienced in VB so this is as far as I’ve got. Perhaps I can get a sub to select the button using the above line, but I need the info from it, i.e. which value is currently selected in the Drop Down.
(Using Excel 2010 but the .xls files are from ~2005)

I'm using combo boxes. Initially I used combo boxes from the Forms toolbar, however the text in the combo box was to small. Now I'm using combo boxes from the Control tool bar. However, i would like the link cell to show the number of the entry in the list (like the forms control box) and not the actual entry. Is there an option I need to select in properties, or is there some VB code I can attach to the combo box ?

I have a code that copies a sheet into a new workbook. The copied sheet is for information only. On the original sheet I have various macro's assigned to buttons made from using Insert Shape command. I assume if I can find away to remove the buttons then the functionality of the macro's would be lost which is what I want?

I have a pivot table with various filters, and I would like to setup a macro assigned to a button which resets the filters to 'All'. Used this code to clear one field and it worked successfully:

I created a frame in a spreadsheet I put in 2 options buttons that I called Left the first one and Right the second one. I got 2 cells lets say C10 and G10 in these 2 cells I write the cell number values. When I click on button one or Left, I need the cell C10 be set focussed and write a number e.j 5. However, when click on the second butt to write a number e.j 7, the number in the cell C10 still there, so, what I need is a cero or an empty cell C10, and viceversa. Could you help to write a code for this problem.

Attached I have kind of a score card, when you open the tab named TEAM1 a userform pops up and I pick the partners that played together, then I can pick an option button labeled 0,1,2 or 3, when it unloads, is it possible to make it put the corresponding number by their names in the empty row (W) of the week they are playing?, and not just the 1st open row available?
For example, if I pick the names Ryan and Stu the number will go under week 10 (X3) and not find the empty cell in (J3)?, I have no clue how to make this happen, but I made a userform to use, to try and make it work.

I use Excel2007 and saved this workbook as excel2003, the combo box doesn't dropdown anymore? I don't understand why....is it just settings? If you could have a look at the code I use for the option buttons...when I select the first optionbutton it calls the msgbox without selecting the offset cells. From optionbutton2 onwards it works fine.

I know that there is an ocean of information out there with regards to option buttons, but for the life of me I am unable to find what it is I am looking for. So I will try to explain what I am trying to do as best as possible. In my workbook I have 4 sheets. Sheet 1 contains all the data. The remaining sheets have taken all the data and broken it down by machine type. IE(carton errector, Carrier errector, etc) I have a series of user forms that you would navigate through to perform a search. For This example frmMain_menu is where the user would start out. I only have code added for the first button (Pearson).
This will bring up another form with more options for the user to select. Currently I only have code for the Carton Errector button. Once the user has selected that button frmCarton_Errector pops up and it has a series of 12 option buttons to choose from. What I am trying to accomplish is say the user selects cylinders, I would like once the search button is clicked for the program to is search sheet2 col f for the caption value of the option button selected. Any hits that it might find I would like to display certain datafrom the rows in a list box.(IE col A,B,G)

I have in a Useform 4 OptionButtons. This is working Ok to a point. My Question is, I have 12 images. I like to show a particular image depending on what option is choosen. As of right now if Optionbutton1 is selected. The right image is shown. But if 2 OptionButtons are selected the wrong image can be shown. So, it leads me to think I need and if or statment in the code? If so how can this be done in a example.
