I have added a button to asign a macro to but for the life of me cant see how to "activate" the button. I am trying to click the button to make the macro run but it keeps selecting the button like it wont come out of design view.
View 4 Repliesi have been having this problem with my version of excel at work and it is driving me crazy. First of all this is excel 2000. For a while now I have been unable to use the control toolbox - when I click it - nothing happens. In the meantime I havent been doing anthing really serious so I used the forms toolbar. I have tried using the control toolbox in word - and it works - just in case someone had been messing around and uninstalling things. Is there anyway that I have hidden it somewhere?

Problem solved: I inadvertently had selected more than one worksheet tab and this was stopping me from placing a button on the worksheet.
i've gotta demo an Excel app in a few days and this never really bothered me, but someone recently pointed out that it can get distracting for the Control Toolbox to pop in and out randomly. the form is being built for use by other staff, and i suppose it would also be distracting for them if the toolbox arbitrarily appeared here and there. is there a way to turn it off?

Currently using VBA do develop a tool for Excel. I've downloaded a .ocx control and am wondering how one would go about adding it to the toolbox?
Instead of having the goals and objectives already in the form I would like to have buttons that would allow my clinicians to add as many goals and objectives as they'd like to the attached treatment plan. I'd like them to be able to click a delete button as well when they review the plan and need to delete a goal that's been met. When my team clicks into the second worksheet they would see rows 10-16 (below). They would then type a STG 1 and an Obj A. They then would click the Add Obj button and add as many objectives that they needed. Then when they clicked the add goal button a blank copy of rows 10-16 (including the Add Obj button) would pasted one row down and would update to read STG 2. Neither of these buttons would appear when the document printed.

I have a spreadsheet with check boxes and a combo box that are set to display in print preview as well as print. I have set up a Print Preview button on this spreadsheet, as well. When you click the Print Preview button and then click close on the preview window and return to the spreadsheet, the control toolbox tools appear out of place and are greatly magnified. Scrolling the screen down and then back makes them appear correctly once again.
I have seen this on this spreadsheet on three different computers. Does anyone have a clue what is going on?
Note, clicking the print preview button on the standard toolbar does not provide the same artifact. It works correctly.
Or for the cheap fix, what is the VB script to move the cursor to a different cell and then return back?
I've started experiencing a strange problem. The control toolbox keeps appearing when the first page on a multipage userform is activated. I can't figure out what's causing this, and after searching the forum, with no luck, I thought I would see if anybody else is experiencing the same problem, and how to fix it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using a form textbox on a worksheet. I have the textbox positioned where I need it to be but when I print the worksheet the textbox moves out of position.
I have an excel workbook where on several of the worksheets I have Control Toolbox Textboxes inserted into the sheet. The Textboxes are for when a user wants to type notes onto the worksheet.
My issue is that the Textboxes do not allow the user to edit the font because the VBA project is locked.
How can I allow users to edit the font in the Textbox without giving the VBA password away to the user?
I've built the code for a Template form for data entry of a survey. Through Control Toolbox I've created the form and used several textboxes, option buttons, checkboxes and COMBO boxes this one in turn being my trouble.
- Sheet one is called "Data" (this is the place where all inserted information is going to be stored
- Sheet two: "Variables" (here is where I keep the required values for the como boxes - inserted manually apriorely...
Question: What is the code to assing to the combo boxes in order to have the values from the sheet "Variables" of the range A1:A4 - use the comboboxq2 for referee, I'll do the others

I have a bunch of Option Buttons in a worksheet whose properties i need to change by running a macro. For example, I created an OptionButton1 in a worksheet using control toolbox. Now I want to run a macro to change it's name, groupname, linkedcell and caption. I did this macro but it doesn't work:

I am attempting to put in some dropdown boxes and text boxes and maybe some other items using the control toolbox in Excel. After a selection is made I would like to count that particular item. I was using the validation method in which all I needed was the following to sum up the selections made: =SUMIF(G:G,"Monday",I:I)
Now I realize this will not work due to the fact the control toolbox controls are embeded and merley sit on the cells. How do I sum selections made using drop down boxes that are derived from the control toolbox? If someone can give me an example to try or point me to a place to find such information that would be great.
Im trying to create many option buttons on my sheet and then change the GroupName and Name properties but im having no luck in accessing the properties. I'm using combo boxes. Initially I used combo boxes from the Forms toolbar, however the text in the combo box was to small. Now I'm using combo boxes from the Control tool bar. However, i would like the link cell to show the number of the entry in the list (like the forms control box) and not the actual entry. Is there an option I need to select in properties, or is there some VB code I can attach to the combo box ?

Ok I have a form where our employees enter in some info and press the add button. I want this add button to take the data entered and transfer it to a database. Each time the button is pressed it needs to drop a row and add the new information entered.

What I'm looking to do is have a form control button that either hides that column, or better still just turn the font white (invisible)on the press of the button, then with another press turn the font back to black (visible) or do I require 2 buttons to carry out this function. I don't wish to have the column formatted in anyway after the changes, simply 1 press turns the font white and either another press (or another button) turns the column back to the exact same state (no formulas present) as it was.

I have made an excel sheet for multiple choice questions, in which person needs to click on submit button after completing with the test & pop up will say "Your score is__". Now, I want to want to add one more button named "Reset". I want below :
results:
1. Person should not be able to make any changes after clicking on "Submit" button.
2. If one tries to click on "Reset" button, it should ask for password.
3. After keying password for "Reset" button, all questions should be reset so that next person can give test.

I am trying to get a form sent as an email by pressing he control button without having to cut and paste into an email sheet. I have tried with

but the code I put in only opens a new email form, which requires cut and paste.
I have created several macros where i use an active-X control button. This button is pressed and the macro begins...........but every now and again this button changes size for no apparent reason.
I have read countless articles/posts about what "may" be causing the problem but i have never read anything which clearly identifies the soln to this problem and the problem has been out there for years. To make matters worse the problem can not be duplicated on any regular frequency that i am aware of............so its not like i can post a file that will show the problem.............

In tab Sheet1 there is Commandbuttons named "Sheet2" & "Sheet3". If i press "Sheet2" then i will be directed to sheet2 tab, same as "Sheet3". In tab Sheet2 & Sheet3 there is commandbutton "Sheet1", if i press the button then i will be directed to default tab which is sheet1.
