i have the text as string data in column A and it is just a text not date format. i want to convert this using formula text function to get result shown in column B and C. is this doable?

I have a spreadsheet where we will be inserting the Arabic Hijri date taken from a Customs document (bayan). On my spreadsheet I'd like to have a column immediately next to the Hijri date that would convert the Hijri date to the Gregorian date so both dates will be visible for our Arabic and Western personnel who will be using the spreadsheet.
I am using Microsoft Excel 2010.

I have a Column of dates in this format: 5/19/2014 8:08:44 AM I am trying to get this to read 20140519 or yyyymmdd It doesn't matter what format I change to, it will not update unless I activate the cell and then tab or enter out of it. I have 3000 rows to convert. with this either by setting or VB Sub?

When I combine 3 reports (which we get out of a system) into 1 big file, the date format remains the same (mm/dd/yyyy and right alligned). Same happens for most of my colleagues.
When 1 particular colleague goes and combine these reports, I've noticed that some of the dates are showing as text? (dd/mm/yyyy and left alligned).

I'm using Excel 2010. I have a spread sheet with sales data covering 3 years and multiple customers. I was able to create formulas such as this to calculate the figures for the entire sheet (all customers) by year.
=SUMIFS(J2:J12904,E2:E12904,">12/31/11",E2:E12904,"<1/1/13").
I believe that in order to use filters that show this date for a specific customer I need to convert this to a SUMPRODUCT formula, I've tried this multiple times and had no luck.

I have imported data that is showing dates as 18th Sep 2013. Excel does not like this and I have tried various methods of conversion but nothing seems to work. I will be getting data that has Oct, Nov, Dec etc so the formula needs to be able to handle these too. I would like these 'dates' converted to excel friendly dates.

I am trying to convert text in a cell from: 03/08/2014 2330 to a date that looks like this: 03/08/2014 23:30. Then I also need to extract just the time only and put that in a new cell.
I can do it in a few steps by using Data -> Text To Columns, formatting the date and time separately, and then putting them back together again.
Is there a 1-step way to do the original text to date/time conversion?

I have column A set up to display dates in the following format: 03/04/2009. While the "look" is fine for the values in the column, I cannot get it to stay in that format when it is moved to a text file. It simply converts the display back to 39876.
I would like a macro that 1) looks at all values in column A and 2) converts each cell in the column to text format but leaves the contents so they are dates 03/04/2009 (mm,dd,yyyy).

i'm trying to convert a column (P) from date dd-mmm-yy, subtract 5 days, and paste value as YYMM using a macro. I've borrowed bits from other macros and producted this but it's not working (and i've played around with it to the point it doesn't make sense anymore!)

Now when I am running the macro the output is coming for a single text file as input like..

It should be only a single row as output,but here it is coming in multiple rows(as no of columns) the same data .this is the problem.when I run the same macro for multiple text file it is working properly.

I am trying to find a way to have excel recognize text data input as date/time.

Where 02 Is the Date, 2020 is the time (military) Z is Zulu/GMT, MAR is Month and 14 is Year. I believe excel recognizes

I have a problem converting hourly data into daily data for electricity import capacity. My file has the following form:
| Connection | Date | Period | Available (capacity) | Where 'Connection' identifies the physical location of the capacity (4 possibilities, Germany -> Netherlands; Norway -> Nehterlands; Belgium -> NL; UK -> NL), 'Date' refers to the date, Period refers to hour of the day (e.g. 18:00-19:00) and 'Available' refers to the import capacity of electricity on that conncetion during that hour. I need daily aggregates and tried several things such as DSUM but I cannot manage I've shortened the attached file quite a bit because of the upload size restriction. I am using Excel 2010. I've tried some suggestions in similar topics but none worked for me.

I have userform with date pickers and have text boxes overlaid on these, when I select todays date from the date picker it does not display the current date in the text box (I have 8 date pickers on the userform). If I select another date then reselect the current date it works. It has occasionally worked but why.
Below is the code for populating the text box from the Date Picker.

The initialize userform code uses the following to format and set the textbox

I import data from a program that exports dates and times as text. I have been successful using "text to columns" to separate the time from the date and then using =text(A1,"00:00")+0 to get the time to show as serial time but I'd love to be able to do the whole date/time string in one step. In cell A1 there is data that is general format and is in this format:
01/01/13 00001
No matter how you try to format it, it is not a date or time. For this project I need the serial number for the date/time. Any formula that will format it as date/time and then allow it to show as a serial date/time?

I am my excel worksheet (excel 2010) I have one cell that changes every day (number). I want this number to open my htm document and replace the same number in a string in the htm and save/close this.
An example:
My htm document is located at C:/ and named XX.htm
The number I want from excel is in cell A1 in sheet1, and the worksheet is located in D:/ named yy.xlsx
And the text(number) I want to replace is in the following string in the htm document, in this string it is 72, next day it can be 30:

I have a userform which requires the user to enter the date a training course was completed. Initially I used DatePicker as I was running Excel 2010 and had that working, however the workbook I am creating will be used on about a dozen machines, all of which have different versions of Excel. To avoid needing calendar Add-ins to be downloaded and installed for this feature I decided to go the vba created calendar route. I am using one I found on this forum: [URL] .....
It works well for me using the example spreadsheet provided in the post but I am having some difficulty incorporating it into my code. I believe I have imported the appropriate forms and modules because I can get the date populate to the Label Box on my userform but when I try to put the Date into the spreadsheet along with other data such as name and course duration, the name and course duration populate but the date cell remains blank and execution completes without error.
I have tried playing around with the data type thinking I had some issue using the .Value attribute with a String but .Text gives me an error as does converting from String to Number format.
I will attach the workbook but for a quick look, the portion of the code I believe that is not working is in here:
