Excel 2010 :: Runtime Error 1004 - Autofill Method Of Range Class Failed

The macro I'm writing (Excel 2010) is a loop that inserts a column based on a variable location, enters in a formula in the first cell, enters another formula in cell 2, then should fill that second formula to the last row, then keep going until the loop ends. There is always a chance that there will be blank cells to the left and right so I didn't use xldown. I've tried writing in multiple ways, but I keep getting the error.

1.) I have excel 2007 and when I recorded the macro yesterday it worked just fine, but today it's coming up with the box to update values. The macro is set to open up the vendor assignment sheet and do a vlookup against the clerk and then return the information to the original sheet and then copy paste special values. 2.) The code works fine when I have more than two rows of data that I am manipulating but gives me an Run Time Error - AutoFill Method of Range Class Failed at the following line:
Selection.AutoFill Destination:=Range("X2", "X" & lastRow)
When I have only one row of data I get the Run time error.
Any code that will allow me to process the data if I have one row of data as well.
I am encountering this error when I try to run code I have written on my own machine. I am working with all unprotected sheets, and I am running Excel 2007. All of the sheet exist.

The error occurs when the spreadsheet either have 1 row of data completed or no data, can I get code to ignore the autofill when I only have 1 row or no rows completed in various spreadsheets. I have attached a copy of the spreadsheet.
but my code is running in a loop and i can see that atleast 20 buttons were added and it fails to select when it try to add this iteration. It is completely confusing me.
I also notice that when it fails, on select method .. the button was actually added to the sheet with caption/name as "Button 65536" but then fails to select it. What makes the select to fail after adding the button? Could there be anything special with Button 65536?
Is there any better way to code the adding button and setting action and name for excel 2007?
note before entering the loop i am deleting all the shapes with myShape.Delete which name matches "btRun"
I also want to highlight that i don't have 65536 rows in my sheet. I just have 200 rows. and when this error happens it is on row 150 so firstly i wonder why it is naming the button as Button 65536. I would assume it will start with 1 and go on increments.
What makes excel to fail to select an added button in VBA?

Very new to VBA and having trouble with a simple macro running in 2003 that copies and pasts to another worksheet. Code as follows:

When I run CopyResults, the sheet is opened and the data copied correctly, but I get a runtime error 1004 past method of worksheet class failed, with the line 'ActiveSheet.Paste' highlighted. Don't get this when I run the same macro in 2000.
I am trying to autofill a range of cells in column L (12). I first copy the formula and add an equal to (=) sign to it. then this is copied to cell L14 (The first cell of the intended range).
After this I find out the last filled row (using FOR loop and a counter 'c').
After this I use the Autofill option but I get an error.

I'm attempting to write an OutLook 2007 macro that extracts excel spreadsheets from incoming email and saves them as a .csv file. Before saving the file I need to delete the header row. I am getting a "Error 1004 - Delete method of range class failed" error when running this code.

When I run this code I get a run time error 1004, copy method of range class failed, I have an autofilter on and it is showing 5 rows, the 5 cells in column A of sheet2 gets copied to sheet1 OK but I get the error?
i added a "Microsoft office spreadsheet 11.0 " object using additional control and used it in my form of Excel Macro. then i added some data from the combo box to the embedded excel object dispalyed. the form displays correctly and am even able to add data to cells.
but am not able to sort a column. gives me the error message "Sort method of range class failed" have tried to make sure the sheet is active using the ".Activate" with the object name. this is the only solution available on the existing forums.
I am using this code (below) to hide certain rows or columns depending on what number is entered. Everything is working fine and I am at the point where I would like to share this excel sheet with others but I would like to lock certain cells so that others cannot alter the formulas. As soon as I lock the cells and then enter values into the unlocked cells, I get the "run-time error '1004': Unable to set the Hidden property of the Range class".

I want to paste a previously selected and copied range at the current position as values. The range will seldom be the same as previously, and the position where it will be posted will be random too.
I have a userform that allows the user to view, modify or delete individual records (rows) of a worksheet in a workbook. If a particular item in a record is modified, a check occurs to ensure that the values for that item remain unique. All of that works exactly the way I need. The breakdown occurs when the records are then autosorted by a the values in a particular column. After the autosort, another column of values is copied and pasted to a different worksheet within the same workbook. For this to work properly, I must have the userform open along with the worksheet containing the records. If the userform is open with any other worksheet open, I get the following VBA error message "Run-time Error '1004' : Slect method of Range class failed". I need to be able to open the userform with any worksheet active and not experience this error when the autosort, copy/paste occurs. This is the code for the user form, the module for autosort, copy/paste and checking for unue values.

I am using the following code and I'm getting a Run-time error '1004' error. When I reconstruct the macro one line at a time and run the macro between adding each new line - no error. After reconstructing the macro in its entirety, I can run it once with no error.
