Executing A Program, Initialize Or Open An Application

When running a script within Excel, is there a way to cause the script to initialize or open an application other than Excel? For instance: If I desired to have the script open 'C:program.exe' is there script available for this?
I've only used VBA to expedite Excel processes, so this is my first exploit into using it for something else. So there's a radio program I enjoy listening to. It's not local, so I have to stream it online. I got a job recently, and I can no longer listen to the program during the day (my job doesn't allow streaming audio). So basically to hear the program, I have an internet explorer add-on called freecorder that records streaming audio. Basically what I've done till now is start recording the streaming radio before work and then stop recording when I get home. That creates quite a large file, so I'd like to set up a macro that does the following:
1) Open internet explorer at noon 2) Go the website from which the radio station streams 3) Click the button that starts freecorder recording 4) At 3 o'clock click the button that stops recording
I want to know if when you open an excel file from the desktop is it possible to have that paticular file open in a new Excel program instead of one that is already opened. A more specific senerio is that I have Excel running a program and if i open from the desktop it opens it in that paticular excel program. I can open excel a second time and have to seperate excel programs running. Is it possible that when I open a paticular excel sheet from the desktop that it opens in a new excel program besides the one that is already running.

I need a code to open a new Excel Application (Not just a workbook).
eg: say I already have book1.xls opened. Now I want a new excel application (say book2.xls) to be opened. Now, when I close any of the books (by using the cross on top right corner), the other shouldn't be closed.
I cannot open an Excel spreadsheet except through the Excel application. This includes through Windows Explorer, on the internet (this forum), in email. I need to save the file first, then open Excel, then open (through Excel) the file.
In Email, I get "System cannnot find the file specified" On this site, I get "Access to the specified device/path is denied" From Explorer, "Cannot find the file.... based on the criteria xls(or one of its components). Make sure the path and file name are correct and that all required libraries are available."
Last time, our IT group couldn't fix it and had to reinstall the entire Office package to get it working again. I'd rather not go through that.
I have got a Useform. I want on Sheet1 when i click on Userform button to open it ; then excel application should be hide and only userform should be show.
I have an Excel application (Excel 2003) which is stored in the default Program Files folder by the Installer; for example: c:program fileszxchello.xls. The problem I am running into is this file opens as Read Only in Vista and this is interfering with the running of the application. There is no problem opening the file normally in Windows XP.
I have been able to narrow down the cause of this to the User Account Control system in Vista - if I turn OFF User Account Control, the Excel file opens normally and my application functions normally. Is there another option to open the Excel file without turning OFF User Account Control because some users may find it unacceptable to turn OFF this security feature. Ofcourse, one option is to install the application in another location, outside the Program Folder, and the file would open normally, but the Packaging Wizard that I am using to package the application does not allow me to install the application in any other location and thus, the application installs in the Program Folder and I am running into this problem of the Exel file opening as Read Only. Is there a way out of this situation where I can open the file normally (not as Read Only)?
I have embeded a PDF file in an Excel Worksheet. When I double-click to open the PDF file the I get an error message: "Cannot start the source application for this object." However, the pdf file opens anyway. how to prevent the error message from displaying (without stopping real error messages)? (...happens in Excel 2000 and Excel 2003) NB: I researched this site first - user "Ed" raised the same issue 27/1/03 - but it doesn't appear to have been resloved.
Im copying and pasting data from one workbook to another but when I want to close the source workbook, it comes up with this message that I have much data and if I want to keep this in a clipboard. I thought I could disable this with Application.DisplayAlerts = False but when I do this, Excel freezes. Im I doing something wrong. How can I supress this window?

I figured out how to populate the ComboBox, but I have to manually step through the code to do it. How do I get it to populate the values when the spreadsheet is opened?
Then, what I want to do is have the cell formula depend on one of two selections in the ComboBox.

Now, when myCount is multiple of 5 it should go inside that loop. Instead it goes inside immediately, also when myCount = 0 So I decided to initialize myCount to 1. But the strange thing is that I don't know how?

I keep getting an error: " 380: Could not set the RowSource property. Invalid property value."
when I type in UserForm1 and arrow down. in turns into lowercase letters.
I am running into the error, "Procedure too large". I know I need to break the range down into Arrays, so how can I hard code the values into an array? I cannot find an example to follow. Ranges: D:E,K:L,O:P,....etc. I know I can break the rows up into an array too, but one thing at a time. Here is an example of the range for D:E.
I have two userform combo boxes, the second follows up on the results of the first.
The second Combo Box looks for incomplete fields and provides them in a drop box. If the data the second Combo Box is looking at (This is different data than the first Combo Box is looking at.) is complete it updates the field, if not then it adds it to the drop down list.
My problem is this, if it finds everything updated and nothing is added to the drop-down list, how do I exit? I just want a complete break where all programming ends.
I am in the Initialize subroutine and I have tried Exit Sub and it still brings up the user form.

I have a userform on which there is a frame containing 8 option boxes. After a query, the results are displayed in the form. If I have a value of 1 in a cell, optionbox1 is checked; a value of 2 checks optionbox2, etc. It works great EXCEPT when first initialized. At that point, it checks the last optionbox, even if the number is 1. I have built a next and previous feature to scan the data, and when I return to the first entry, the correct box is checked. I tried coding blanks into the fields prior to populating them, but I still get the same results. Is there some explanation available so that I may remedy this? I'd really like the first piece of data to be correct.
I have a combobox which is used to select data (stock symbol) from a list. Following selection of the stock symbol, a VBA routine is invoked from a radio button which accesses the internet to get data for the selected stock. Currently, this is a two step operation. I tried to cut out the need to click on the download button by calling the GetData sub inside the combobox sub as shown in the code below.

When the userform is loaded, I want the data in each range to be available in the dropdown for each respective combobox. It would be great if spaces can be removed from each list, but from what I read, this may be an issue.

I have a total of 648 textboxes on my form. Some of the textboxes allow for char values, some numeric and some monetary. The problem I am running into is with the monetary. I am trying to say on initialize, I want to autoformat 208 of these textboxes to $0.00 and when the users puts in an actual amount it changes to $100.00 or whatever the amount. It would be ideal to just have the textbox blank and when the users puts in something it is formatted automatically to $100.00. Just like I would if I were formatting an Excel column or cell. Here is my code so far: (hopefully no typos in code. Cannot copy and paste as using home computer. My work computer blocks the excelforum site.
