I have a value that has a whole number and a decimal. From this number I need to figure the Year and month. The worksheet has constant values from which this can be determined.
My workbook has a worksheet that lists service activities and a 2nd worksheet that contains a month-year column and an associated Customer PO# to be assigned to an activity based on its Open Date...if it is a specific type of activity.
My logic statement is IF activity type RO is "X", then match its Open Date to the Month-Year in the AssignPO# sheet and assign the associated Customer PO.
I've attached a sample workbook to make it simpler to understand.
So I use this formula on one of my task sheets to do budgets. Now the problem is we are entering 2014...yet the formula won't go into the next year without some sort of year scan:

that is the first formula but I need it to look up the year also and everything I have tried has failed miserably. So basically when it is matching with the month I have a drop down that has Jan-December...but I need it too look to the Feb 2014 not Feb 2013...How can I add the year section?
In cell b2 I have a formula =text(today(),"yyyy") which daisplays todays date as a year, in cell b3 I have =text(today(),"mmmm") which displays todays date current month.

I need todays (current) month and year to indicate in a helper column next to the relevent month and year as a number 1 to use as a reference to return date from the row where the 1 is displayed, I have tried =if(and(b2=a10,b3=b10),1,"")) and it dosent like the fact that the year in the colmuns is entered as standard text, is there any whay to do this?
In attached sheet, I am trying to find total cost by month only for year 2009. Currently formula I have in Cell c24, is {=SUM(IF(MONTH(B2:B9)=1,D2:D9,0))} But this calculates for all years, not just 2009. How do I modify above formula, so for each month, it shows total cost but only for 2009?

I have a workbook with two spreadsheets in it. On the second sheet there is a large table, which column headings are months and years (e.g. Jun-07 Jul-07, Aug-07, Sep-07....). I was trying to write an excel vba code that would search the first row (column headings) to find the current month and year, and copy the corresponding column along with two previous columns (months) to the first sheet. I would like to have a code that will be able to do this in Jan-08, Feb-08, or Jan-09 as well.

1. I would like to be able to select a month from a drop down ( cell C4), and for Column B ('Cumulative Performance') to reflect the sum for each name between Jan and the month selected.
2. In Column D I would like to rank the relative position of the sum total; such that if I selected 'Dec', John would display '13' in D7, Anne '3' etc.
3. In Column E I would like to show by way of a coloured arrow (or even a smilie icon) the relative change in ranking of the sum totals evaluated for my chosen month with those calculated up until the previous month (e.g. for Anne, if I select June, the Jan to June total is 36 (rank 2 in the June total's), the May to Jan total for Anne is 32 (rank 1), therefore her relative rank movement between the June and May cumulatives moves down and cell E8 would show a red-down arrow (amber horizontal for no change and green up-arrow for an improvement in rank).

I just not sure what to do, is the year stored as a number/text/date. What should it even look like? Does 1830 display as 1830.00 using excel.
I have two combo boxes: One for entering the Year, and one for the month. I can produce a message if the user leaves either box blank but I want a message to apear it the user selects a year AND month less than the current year (iYear) and current month (iMonth). I therefore need an AND statement between the two criteria but i dont know how to do it.

Column C5:C9999 & D5:D9999 contains alphanumerical values.
In E5:E9999 i want the result=Column C provided it matches Column D else null.

I am working on a budget for myself and want it to have running dates so the first data column will have the current month. I was able to succeed with this using the EOMONTH function followed by EDATE functions in the following cells, I then have these columns filled using a nested VLOOKUP MATCH function pair.
The problem I run into is with the months that extend into the next year, in my data table I have month by month listed started on 01/01/2014 ending 12/01/2014 but as soon as the month is no longer January the last column in my budget cannot find the information needed due to it looking for 2015. so what I would like to know is if there is a way to make the data table change the year to the following year after today is beyond that month, so for example on March 1 2014 both January and February would be changed to 2015.

Need to create year to date sales comparing 4 years month by month. Stacked chart (Excel 2010) works OK for the first three months but adding the fourth month changes the chart to 4 series with a monthly axis. To put it another way I need a vertical axis of years and a horizontal axis of $$$ with each months sales of each year stacked on its year.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have created a time sheet in excel (see attached) that will be part of the larger workbook that will be linked with other sheets to auto fill in most fields. I am wondering if there is a way for an user to enter a Month and a Year at the top of the page and that in turn automatically fills in the days of the month by week.
So in attached sheet there are 5 boxes representing 5 weeks in a month. So if we used May 2014 as an example I would like to know if there is a way that once May 2014 is entered in up to top that. Excel fills in the dates in Week #1 with under Thursday showing 1st, under Friday showing 2nd as on for the entire month...
So as the month go by all user has to do is state the month and year and excel fills in the weekly dates for each day in month.

I can extract unique values from the list but thing is I need extracts only those values which match partially below is scenario

This is for a report and on "Summary Worksheet" I want to post "Current Payment" totals IF the invoices from "Tab 3" equal the "month" in G6. Say the report is for January - if there are invoices on Tab 3 -worksheet with a January date I want to post all invoice amounts on Summary worksheet under current payment.

Is there a way to make the attached worksheet automatically shade out all the Saturdays & Sundays in any given month everytime you change the Month/Year cell at the top of the worksheet, as example? I've tried using the weekday/Weekend formula, but can't quite get it right.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI use a certain portion of our workbooks to enter the due dates of certain equipment, which are always listed in month/year (e.g. 4/17), and which means that they are good until the last day of said month. That is, a due date of "5/16" is good through May 31, 2016.
I'd like for my users to be able to enter "5/16" and have that cell properly identify as May, 2016 (instead of May 16 of the current year)...more specifically, the last day of May, 2016. All of this so that I can conditionally format any cell where that date has past - that is, if my user enters "5/16" on May 15, 2016, it won't flag.

I need F column as Month Date Year Format
Extract 2 digits to the right of a decimal when it ends in 0, AND keep it a value.
Ex: .69 .75 .50 .70 = 69 75 50 70.
Text to columns won't work because it has to calculate from other cells' data. This value is then used in an IF function.
As To Why This Is Giving The Answer Of "January Of 2009"?

I have 2 columns. One is the years and one is the the associated data.
I need the associated data(BP values) to be sorted in years like shown in excel sheet attached.

I have a list of dates (birthdays) in column A. IE

When I use the normal sort function it sorts the dates in year order.
In Column B, I would like a formula that ignores the year and puts them in Month order that runs from Jan to Dec. Something I can print and stick on a wall as the list of birthdays.
How do I 'countif' for a particular month of the year?
I have a long list of dates and need to count how many are in January, february etc.
