Finding End Of Week Prior To Today's Date
Aug 15, 2007I am being supplied with a date (but not weekday) in a report. How do I find the date of the prior Saturday without having the weekday supplied?
View 4 RepliesI am being supplied with a date (but not weekday) in a report. How do I find the date of the prior Saturday without having the weekday supplied?
View 4 RepliesIm trying to search a column (A), that has a list of dates (not in order), for the row in which the dates are equal to or greater than today and less than or equal to a week from today. I then want the information contained in the rows with these dates to be transferred to another sheet and ordered by date.
is it possible to display the week number of todays date (today()) from a physically entered start date (which would obviously be week one), the start date would be november 4th 2013.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I have this sheet template to copy for various other sheets, and on A3-A1000, they contain dates from August 1st 2013 to whenever. Starting with A3 as August 1st. The problem is now, it's September 10th, and I would like A3 to be a week before September 10th. Then A4 would be September 11th. And so on and so forth. The dates also must only consist of weekdays and the dates must be hard coded. Is this possible? I have the simple code for copying over the spreadsheet, but I don't know the rest.
Code:
Sub Submit()
Sheets("Client Name").Copy after:=Sheets(Sheets.Count)
ActiveSheet.name = Sheets("Control").Range("C19").Value
I have a workbook which contains 1 spreadsheet that contains data entry for approximately 20 employees. The workbook then contains a separate sheet for each employee to display the detailed information
Column A stores the dates from Jan1 to Dec 31
Row 1 contains the employees names.
The data entered consists of approximatle 4 different 1-letter codes as to what transaction occurred that particular day.
What I would like to do now is be able to count the number of cells that contain a code for 2 different time periods. I would like for it to count 2 weeks ago and separately count 2 weeks in the future.
In trying to get this last calculation, I've added a column for WEEKNUM next to the date (column B) and used somethign along the lines of
=CountIF(C2:c366,Weeknum(Now()-2)) and also tried +2. Neither have worked.
I may be making this more complicated than it needs to be but I can't seem to figure it out. The goal of this spreadsheet is for General Managers of a restaurant to give feedback about food deliveries. These deliveries usually come on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday, but could for a list of reasons come on any day of the week. I want to automatically populate as much information as possible without requiring GMs to remember and enter dates.
A1 is =TODAY()
A2:A5 is a drop down where the GM selects the day of the week the delivery arrived. i.e. MON, TUE, WED, etc. I want the corresponding date of the past week to auto-populate in this cell (or even the adjacent cell if necessary) once the day is selected. For example, if today is 3/8/2014, when MON is selected in A2, I want the cell to automatically add "3/3/2014," making the entire cell read "MON 3/3/2014."
So if said GM is filling in this spreadsheet on a Saturday, and I want to display the date of the previous Monday, I need to find the day of the week of A1 (WEEKDAY function), and make A2 = A1-5.
If today is a Friday, it would be A2=A1-4, and so on for the 7 days of the week.
Then I would need to do all of this for if a Tuesday is selected in the drop down box, meaning IF(Saturday)Then A2=A1-4, etc...
I was trying to string together IF statements like this:
=IF(WEEKDAY(TODAY()=7),A1-5), IF(WEEKDAY(TODAY()=6),A1-4)
It works when I do only the first IF statement, but when I add another it returns #VALUE. I thought that excel would find the first true value and stop evaluating.
Excel 2007 I have a spreadsheet of file boxes the keeps a log of boxes, contents, locations and shred dates. Currently figuring out when and which boxes can be shredded is a manual hunt, find, and then deal with it. I can use CF and Sorting but I have been looking at some search type functions to return a list meeting the requirements and trying to step my way towards that.
1st attempt. Was find out how many boxes meet the shred (before today) that have not already been detroyed. Column K is the Shred Date, D1 is Todays date, Column G is Status. Got this working good.
[QUOTE]]=SUMPRODUCT(--(Log!K2:K2136(lessthan)STATS!D1)*SIGN(LEN(Log!K2:K2136)))-(COUNTIF(Log!G2:G2136,"Destroyed"))[/QUOTE
My failed attempt came at trying to find the earliest shred date excluding those that have been destroyed. This is not really neeed but I was hoping it would get me closer to creating the list of boxes that meet shred that have not already been destroyed.
Note: Column A is the Box No. and the spreadsheet contains blanks as we continue to add file boxes to storage.
Below array formula find the highest box number used by each department.
Code:
=A4&"-"&TEXT(MAX(IF(Log!$A$2:$A$2136"",(LEFT(Log!$A$2:$A$2136,LEN(A4))=A4)*RIGHT(Log!$A$2:$A$2136,3))),"000")
I would like to create a list of boxes including Column A "Box no.", Column H "Location", Column K "Shred Date" for any box whose shred date is before today that has not aleady been labeled "Destroyed" in Column G.
Within a user entered range of two dates, I would like to identify the individual calendar date(s) and count the number of Mondays which fall within the specified date range.I will eventually be using the same "Monday" code to find the same data for every day of the week within the dates ranges, but I figured I'd start with Mondays and build from there.
For Example: Date range 1/1/2013 - 1/15/2013 (date ranges could potentially encompass a full business quarter) Within the range, list each of the dates as dates. (used for comparative counting purposes elsewhere in the document)Count the number of Mons, Tues, Weds, Thurs, Fris, and Sats within the date range.Based on the example date ranges above; Mons = 2, Tues through Sats = 3 each.
I'm trying to create a macro that will look in each row and find the first nonzero that it contains, and then proceed to delete all prior cells before it and shift the existing cells in that row to the left. Now I know that the formula to find a non-zero in a row is:
=(MATCH(TRUE,INDEX(B9:BE9>0,0),0)-1)
and I figured that to select all cells before it you would simply use:
Range(Selection, Selection.End(xlToLeft)).Select
Selection.Delete Shift:=xlToLeft
My problemms are:
I can't figure out how to translate that formula into a piece of the macro and also instead of having it simply calculate how many zeros there are until the first nonzero to get it to select that first nonzero
How to make the selection conditional upon the row. At first I thought maybe I could just have it paste the formula into the first cell of the row but I realized that it wasn't possible to do as the formula already has the row selected
How to have it select all the prior cells to the first nonzero, delete them and shift existing cells to the left without deleting the first nonzero.
I have 2 columns in my spreadsheet:
B:B is a column of dates.
C:C is a list of names
formula that will count the number of times the name 'SIMON' appears in column C:C but here is the catch: I only want to know how many times that name has appeared over the course of the previous week. IE NOW - 7days
I am new to VBA & not sure of the full understanding of code copied from a workbook which worked on the same principle but with Monthly (12) tabs. I thought if modified to show weeks, the macro would be able to locate the current week tab & day/date within - but upon opening, the cell stops at WK19 & column O - rather than WK43, Column N (which changes daily).
Sub Auto_Open()
week(1) = "WK1"
week(2) = "WK2"
week(3) = "WK3"
week(4) = "WK4"
week(5) = "WK5"
week(6) = "WK6"
week(7) = "WK7"
week(8) = "WK8"
week(9) = "WK9"
week(10) = "WK10"
week(11) = "WK11"
week(12) = "WK12"
week(13) = "WK13"
week(14) = "WK14"
week(15) = "WK15"
week(16) = "WK16"
week(17) = "WK17"
week(18) = "WK18"
week(19) = "WK19"
week(20) = "WK20"
week(21) = "WK21"
week(22) = "WK22"
week(23) = "WK23"
week(24) = "WK24"......................................
I am trying to update our sickness spreadsheet for work to make it a little more 'intuitive' and less cumbersome to use. There are dates (by day) accross the top, with staff names below. If someone is off sick, the manager writes the number of hours lost to sick in that day, under the correct day, then uses back color / font color to show its sick.
Our work uses a 3 periods of absence or more over a rolling 12 months and the staff are issues with a warning, same with over 8 days off sick. If they are off for longer than 14 days they are long term sick.
I would like excel to show whether each staff member has met any of those criteria in the last 12 months by either highlighting their name or putting text into an adjacent cell.
I have tried using offset, named ranges and anything else I could think of to automatically increase the range +1 day very day, but I cant !

I am a basic user of Excel.
I have an Excel spreadsheet with data from the last 10 years.
In one column it has date in dddd,mmmm,dd,yyyy format and the second column with data for the dates.
I need to have Excel extract only Tuesdays with data that is a positive number (above 0).
Is there a formula, or other method of finding only these results from the whole speadsheet?
Column A = Date
Column B = Numbers
Column C = results
As you can see Column C, I manually did what I want the formula to do, which is get last number from the previous week. (weekdays only, but can be either 1,2,3,4 or 5 days due to holidays).
I have two columns.
A column = contains dates but does not always have 5 days in a week. Holidays are not entered.
B column = price data for each day
All I want to do is get the highest price from the previous week. So for example last week highest price was 5000 then column C will display 5000 for this entire week. I tried using WEEKNUM and WEEKDAY but i am clueless on what to do after that. I'm trying to avoid macros or VB since im not that advance with that. But if I have to I will.
I have data going in to a small table which has some empty rows as that data is not yet available... My problem is, I need to sort this table in date order but with the date nearest to today's date at the top...
The sort function puts oldest at the top or oldest at the bottom which is no good for what I need...
I use xl 2003.
I have a list of ID Numbers and Dates. Let's call this "List 1".
I also have a second list "List 2" which also contains a list of ID Numbers and Dates as well as a third column for Rating.
I am trying to extract the Rating for each ID Number from List 2 and display in List 1. The problem is that the Rating can change with time, so List 2 contains several different Date and Rating values for the same ID Number.
What I need to do is lookup the ID Number from List 1 and return from List 2, for that ID Number, the Rating at the closest date prior to the date for that ID Number in List 1. Example below:
List 1
List 2
ID Number
Date
Rating
111
17/04/13
5

I have a column where I am convering the Date into a Fiscal week number.
For example 10/6/2009 is Work week 41
Now I want to show October Week 41
I need to add the month and the text "Week" before the week number. what is the formula I use.
I have a workbook that I'm using to tracking staffing patterns within a mental health agency. When the workbook opens the user is asked to pick a date range and an office location. I've placed code into the userform that pre-fills the "start date" with today's date and the "end date" 7 days from today's date. I would like the user to be able to enter a unique date range should they wish but I have yet to figure out the coding to accomplish my goal.

I am trying to get the results of the number of days between today and a future date. I am using ="cell containing futuredate"-today() and it gets me the correct number of days. The problem comes in when I have yet to populate the future dates. I am getting -39991 (numeric value between today and jan 01 01) and because I am also using conditional formatting this is even more of a problem. Is there a way get excel to display nothing if it is a negative number? or to give a specified resut if the number becomes negative such as Expired or something of that nature?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI need a formula that will calculate the number of days from a date entered into cell A1 to today's date. Whether it's before or after todays date. Example:
5/10/2009 to today is -9
5/22/2009 to today is 3

I'm working with 2 date columns and trying to filter a view to only include projects with dates within 3 months of today's date.
I've attached a current working file of the data and the end result i'm hoping to achieve via a macro of some sort.
I've manually got it to work via formula by inserting 2 additional columns (highlighted yellow) which determine if the dates "YES" fall in this 3 month time frame of "" blank if not.
create a macro which does all of this automatically without modifying any columns if this is possible
I have a worksheet that has a sent date and expected delivery date I need create a macro that will alert me if today's date is within 5 days of expected delivery date.

To calculate current value of loan i have the below formula below with the 3 being the current period
=IPMT(4.3%/12,3,5*12,-7000)/(4.3%/12)
What i would like to do is for the period to be self calcuating from current date and the loan start date. I can return a value in days using start date - today() and aware month function returns the month number but stuggling to find a way to work out cumulative month from the start date.
On A3: D10 I have information on C1 a have date and E3:E10 I will input date
i.e. If the date entered in E3 is the same as or larger than the date on C1 then Blank the entire line A3: D3
If a1,a21,a41 have a value greater than 0, I wish to stamp cell b1,b21,b41 and so on with todays date, but without the stamped value changing/advancing tomorrow. At the moment cells b1,b21,b41 are copied down as follows. =if(a1>0,TODAY(),"") This works fine, but the date stamp of course changes tomorrow. I can not apply code to the whole b column as cells b2:b20, b22:40 etc have other non-date format data to which the code does not need to apply - the todays date value cell occurs every 20 cells.
View 6 Replies View RelatedCell B1 contains a date, then B2 contains a formula that says:
=IF(A1>TODAY(),A1,A2)
A1 contains a green tick and A2 contains a red cross.
What I am trying to add is that if B1 contains no date then B2 needs to be blank.
I tried using =IF((A1="",0),(A1>TODAY(),A1,A2) to get it to show a 0 if there was no data but this doesn't work.
I am using Excel 2003.
I have a formula
=AL260-WEEKDAY(AL260,2)+MATCH(AP260,{"Monday","Tuesday","Wednesday","Thursday","Friday","Saturday","Sunday"},0)
The formula looks at the chosen start date (AL260), and then uses a displayed text day (AP20) to display the relvent date to the text day, this works fine however if the start date is say 08/08/14 (a Friday) when the formula detects a Monday (this copies down a range looking at the start date and the text days to produce dates on each line, the formula displays the Monday dates prior to start date, is there any way to alter this to make it display the dates ahead of the chosen start date?

I see there is a data filter option for "next quarter" but not 100% sure if this covers the quarter from today's date?
how can you automatic the date to today's date when you open the excel file?
