Add a column next to the first name. The in that column use the formula =Proper(A1), A1 being the cell that contains the first name. Then copy that cell down. Do the same for Last Names. Then keep the cell values, and delete the original set.
Should be an easier way I think (selecting the entire column and using conditional formatting) but MS hasn't seen fit to do this yet.

I, too, am trying to use excel to the fullest. My first issue is, I would like to convert the numberic grade in one cell to a letter grade in another cell. I am not really good with all the vocabulary, but would love to learn it, and can copy a formula pretty well!!!! Not so good with functions and macros but would love to learn. All help appreciated.
I have a variable, ColumnX. I want to use VBA to generate some formula referencing ColumnX. For example: I want to sum the values in A1 to A10. ColumnX has been set to "1" which is the number of column A.
Range("A11")= "=sum("A1:" & ColumnX & "10)"
Obviously the above code doesn't work because I'm putting a number where VBA expects a letter. How can I rewrite my code so that A11 will entered with formula that sums A1 to A10?
I am trying to make a puzzle and use excel to verify I have done it correctly. What I want to do is when I type a letter in a specific cell have it put a number value in another cell automatically. For instance, if I type the letter "a" in cell A1 I would like the number 60 to populate automatically in cell B1. I want to give each letter in the alphabet a numeric value so I can type a message in the A column and then auto sum the results of the numbers in the B column.
For the below formula is it possible to replace the B's (column location) with a cell Say Z146 which contains the letter B (or a number if thats easier and someone can tell me the numbers for each column).
When the formula is dragged into the next cell (down) it takes its column reference from Z147 and then my life becomes so much easier.
I want to put the letter A in cell a1(or any cell in column A, SHEET1) of SHEET 1 and get the information from SHEET 2, column A. Put this information in column B sheet 1. I will have about 40 columns in sheet 2. I used a if formula, but only 8 ifs can be used.
Is there a function that will output the column letter? For example there's one I know of: =COLUMN(), which outputs column number, but not the letter. And if not, can a formula be written to output it without converting the spreadsheet to R1C1 style or using the lookup function that refers to a separate table within the spreadsheet?
I was handed an Excel Spreadsheet containing a list of names. Within the sheet there are three names (Elizabeth, Amy, and Daniel) that contain upper and lower case letters. The desire is that all names are in CAPS. However, these three names refuse to remain as CAPS when overwritten in the cell. As a note, other names can be typed in those cells and will successfully remain as typed, either U/L case or all CAPS. Another note, if the Replace feature is used, the names remain as Replaced.
I have looked in conditional formatting, but do not see a way to change lower case to all caps. Is there a way to do this so that when someone types in a cell it returns all caps instead of leaving it in lower case?
I have the following letters in cells D2= A D3=G D4 =L
These represent Accomodation,Groceries, and Liquor. Starting at E12 I want a formula , to drag down the column, which will show either Accomodation, Groceries or Liquor depending on the letter I put in cell D12,
Eventually I will possibly need help to summarise these costs on another sheet with other data such as fuel costs and fuel analysis but this will get me started.
In the attachment 1st tab column Q I want it to show no more than the Location Cap (Column M) UNLESS the Current Hourly Rate (Column L) is higher than the Cap.
If the Current Hourly Rate (Column L) is lower than the cap but with the increase from the 2nd tab (Loc Info) makes it greater than the Location Cap (Column M) then I want it to show Location Cap. There were only a few lines that did not work right and i can't figure out why. I have attached one of the lines that were not working right.
Ultimately I want to do the same from 2015 (Column R) and 2016 (Column S) but referencing the previous year.
I have the following codes to test Caps Lock whether it is on or off. Instead of showing a msgbox when the Caps Lock is on, I there another way to show comment or other object as well as windows UserForms
