Is there a way to Show the Gridlines in Excel 2007, after an area has been selected, and highlighted with a colour?
As near as I can see, once you put the colour in, then the cells are still there, but the Gridlines just go, or is this incorrect ?
I am currently looking for a front end program to access multiple excel files at once. In a nutshell, I work for a company that uses subcontractors. Each subcontractor is graded in about 7 different performance categories. I receive daily excel files that give us the results for each category. I get separate files for each category.
What I do right now is use a master excel file. Every day I take each file I receive from our parent company and add it to the master file. I have a huge excel file that has a separate tab for each performance category. Then I have a "Report" tab where I use various formulas to summarize a sub's performance over a certain date range.
Essentially, the report tab is just a neat and concise way to display the stats of an individual sub, an office, a region or the whole company. I use tons of VLOOKUP and COUNTIF(S) formulas to look over the hundreds of lines of data and bring back the stats. It works but it is just not very efficient as I get hundreds of new lines of data every day.
Trying to have this embedded in the worksheet private sub change section. I want it to change the value of these ranges when the target has a value in it. I'm getting an error though:

Is there any way to change the settings in excel 2007, to give me the original color palate from 2003? I want to use the old colors because I don't like the new ones.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo, We are using Excel 2002 & Excel 2007 and for some reason all of the workbooks that we have open decide to randomly change the fill colours of nearly all the cells. The only reason this is an issue is that a lot of my work envolves me sending reports to clients and from a business perspective this does not look professional at all.
To add to this, once the cells have changed colour, the original colour is no longer available to select.
I am creating a spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel 2007 which holds information about the airline Emirates which I have created using information from the internet. I am currently creating a sheet which has all their flights in and holds information about the departure time and arrival time of the flight and the type of aircraft ect. I am wondering if there is anyway in being able to have the cell which has the flight number in to change colour (Green or Red) if the flight is in the air or not by using the departure and arrival times already set on the sheet. I am wondering if you possibly need to have a live time on the sheet so that it can work with that .....
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to simplify a type of gannt chart bar across a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet has dates across row 3 that are calculated from the first cell F3 with =F3+7 to populate the rest of the row with dates. I want to be able to input a start date in D4, then all the other titles in column A. This start date will start the coloured bar at that start date in the chart, I will then copy/drag that start date cell for however number of weeks for the duration and I want the finish date to auto populate E4 with the finish date and also auto populate the numbers of weeks in C4 for that bar.

What would be the quickest and most efficient way of doing the following:
Example
Sheet 1: clicking once, twice, three times in the following cells to change the fill to Red, Yellow, Green respectively (in Row 22, COLUMNS E H K N Q T W Z AD AG) and mirrorring this format/fill on:
Sheet 2: , mirror the selected fill on sheet1 in E22, H22 , K22 in in E3:N3 respectively example E22 (sheet1) is mirrored now in E3 (sheet 2); H22 (sheet 1) is mirrored in F3 (sheet2) etc etc.
I have 35 tabs formatted in the same way - each tab, as with Sheet 1 is linked to a different row on sheet 2 in the same range as is sheet 1 and would need to replicate the mirorring on Sheet 1 to each of the other 34 tabs.
So I'm creating a grid worksheet for engineering calculations and I have a couple questions about the best way to do it. I've been messing with excel for my calcs for about a decade now, and I every once in a while I try and improve them.
First: I will have several input areas that will either be colored text or shaded background (either works for me). I don't want these 'input required' objects to print as color, just black. But I want my logo at the sheet top to print as color. I've only found ways to not print any color. Can I print the logo as color and the 'input required' stuff as black?
Second: When I do calcs by hand, I write them out on 10x10 grid paper. Each 10x10 grid is one inch. In the past I've created this grid out of the cells, which works. I frequently need to change formulas around though, and each time I do this, I end up needing to mess with the grid cells also. Is there a way to create the grid and have it in the background so it doesn't need to be adjusted each time I change formulas? I wan't the grids to print, and also want to see them on the screen, as I sometimes draw simple objects along with the formulas.
I work for a UK charity and have a list of funders in an Excel 2007 spreadsheet.
One of the columns refers to the date on which a new application for funding can be made to that particular funder.
In many cases new applications for funding can't be made for 1 or more years since the last application - sometimes as many as 5 years later. How to get a cell to refer to the date that it contains.
For example, say I have in cell A1 "The Acme Funding Organisation" and in cell B1 (i.e. the "Reapply when?" column) a date of 01/04/2013 (British date format, i.e. 1 April 2013) then what I want Excel to do is to look at the date in cell B1 and if that date has been reached to highlight the cell red. That way I'll know that the reapply date has been reached & that a new application can be made.

It works well but gives a "Run-time error '1004'" Application-defined or object-defined error afterward that I would like to get rid off.

if the selected range is 10 cells, 7 of them should be in one color and 3 of the should be in another. But if the selected range is 15 cells the first 7 should have one color and the next 7 should have another and then the last one should have the first color again, and so on..
I'm creating a worksheet which tracks pupils progress in our school. down the left there is a column to put in the level they came into our school on - eg 1C or 3B etc.. to the right of the level is a colour coded row which shows Pink, Yellow and Green - if the pupil makes it into the green part of their level by the time they leave then they are on target.
Basically I have a column of cells which use a data validation list which is linked to another sheet with a list of levels. What I want to happen is when I select the level - it fills the row to the right with the correct colours.. I've attached a picture to show you what i'm trying to do.
Reason being is - we might have 6 kids on L3, and 1 on L1 so the number of rows needed for each level changes - at the moment I'm having to copy and paste - which although is easy enough, it is a bit tedious when you have a whole bunch of pupils to put on the grid.

I am trying to automatically change the colour of an oval in worksheet1 to the colour of oval3 in worksheet 2.
Currently oval3 (Worksheet 2) has the a vba code that changes its colour when you click on it.
