Hiding ActiveX Button When Hide Columns

I am putting several buttons into my spread sheet and would prefer to use ActiveX controls rather than form controls. But I also need to hide the buttons from the end user (controls are to update data and will be used by the person who maintains the workbook). When I go to hide the columns, the ActiveX button doesn't hide with it. On the other hand, if I use a Form Control Button instead, it does indeed disappear when I hide the columns. Is there any way to get the ActiveX button to hide when hiding the columns?

I'm looking to make a simple button that would hide a given range of columns.
This is the simplest I could find:
VB:

Columns("AD:AE").EntireColumn.Hidden = Not Columns("AD:AE").EntireColumn.Hidden
End Sub
Although this works nicely, there was another way to do it (looks more ergonomic and doesn't take up spreadsheet space). Here's a screenshot of what I mean: ColumnHide.gif

I want to be able to have a set of buttons or a dropdown menu where i can put all the titles of my columns in.
After clicking on one of the titles the column must hide or show itself, is there a way to do this?
It's for an automated sheet wich contains a lot of information and this will be used by a lot of people, i want to make it easy for people to simply generate a sheet with just the info they need.

Need a macro for each button.
The sheet will be protected with a password (in the future, users will have varied access privileges).
Column A is designated as the "Button" Column.
There are 5 buttons here. Each representing the area on the sheet that needs to be viewed. Once the button is pressed, it takes you to that section of the sheet. At this time, I have designated each column area as:
a-z
aa-az
ba-bz
ca-cz
da-dz
I have tried this formula with opening tabs, but this won't work.

I'm trying to record a macro which will hide and unhide columns K:P of data, but I only want one button. I know how to do this to produce one button for hiding and another for unhiding...but I want one combined button.
How to use vba, how I do this via the macro recorder?

I am trying to create a very large spreadsheet and i have got everything organized, but for easy viewing i want to have a toggle button that hides and un-hides certain sets of the columns (ie. Press down and it hides columns "B-F", "H-J", and "M-O".... then on depress it shows all the information again)
I have got some of the coding down, but am only able to get it to hide one set at a time, not all the sets. Can anyone help me out and let me know how i tell it to run multiple commands from the one press? here is the code i have already: ...

After scouring the entire OzGrid, I have found the following two macros that partly satisfy what I want to achieve. BTW, following two macros are executed on Sheet2 and I want to achieve the following:
On Worksheet_Activate, show columns that match the criteria value in Sheet1.D4 (Sheet1.D4 contains a dropdown list with about 6 text values). In addition to that, if Sheet1.D4 value is blank then show all columns. Right now, it successfully shows columns that match the D4 value but does not work if that D4 value is left blank, instead it hides all columns in range (C:CV). So in short, to the first macro, I need to add the criteria if D4 is blank, then keep the sheet intact and don’t hide anything, just show all columns.Once on that sheet after the Worksheet_Activate event has occurred, with the second macro “ToggleColumnsVisibility” following things need to happen. BTW, currently this macro is assigned to a button (from Forms Toolbar).If cell D4 has a value, then the button’s caption should read “Show All” and when that button is pressed, it should show all columns in the range (C:CV), and the button's caption needs to change to “Show Selected”. In “Show Selected” mode, when that button is pressed, it needs to show all the columns that match the D4 value.If cell D4 is left blank, then the button's caption should read "No Action" and when the button is pressed, it should not do anything but just show all columns.
As you will notice in the header, my experience with Excel is very limited, so detailed instructions will be greatly appreciated. I am also hoping that proposed solution uses some of the efficient/effective ways of using loops such as described below (example taken from this website from this link http://www.ozgrid.com/VBA/SpeedingUpVBACode.htm)

I have created an ActiveX command button and the text on the button looks crude. I know that is not very descriptive but I am unsure how to describe it. The text looks jagged and some letters are missing chunks of their letters. The font I have chosen is Calibri.
If I create a Form Controls button I do not have this problem but I want the button to have a particular background color so I do not believe I can use a Form Controls button.
I do not know why the other Calibri text on the worksheet looks fine while the ActiveX Calibri text does not. The attached image shows the two buttons with the top one being the ActiveX button while the bottom is a Forms button.

Is there a way in VBA to reference the activeX button which has been clicked? Like a ThisWorkbook equivalent for a button?
I have quite a few button whereby they set a parameter for a procedure 'TrendData' based on the row they sit in. Currently I just have the row number hard coded i.e. Call TrendData(5) but I want to amend this so that when I add a row it doesn't offset all my buttons.
For Example
Call TrendData(CommandButton3.TopLeftCell.Row)
However instead of typing CommandButton3, CommandButton4, etc. I would like the code to know which button had been clicked and just use that?

I have searched high and low and cannot seem to find an answer. I have inserted an ActiveX button in a cell to run 3 macros when pressed. I cannot get the 4-letter name on the button to appear centered on the button, unless I make the button larger than the cell, which I do not want to do.

I'm running into an issue with my ActiveX Option Buttons where they change appearance on click, rendering my transparent settings moot.
Here is an example of the process flow where a user decides to select 'New Visits' instead of 'All Visits':

I have created several macros where i use an active-X control button. This button is pressed and the macro begins...........but every now and again this button changes size for no apparent reason.
I have read countless articles/posts about what "may" be causing the problem but i have never read anything which clearly identifies the soln to this problem and the problem has been out there for years. To make matters worse the problem can not be duplicated on any regular frequency that i am aware of............so its not like i can post a file that will show the problem.............

I am creating a status board at work... Kinda like an In/out board.
I created a toggle button and using it as the persons named. I want them to be able to go to the excel sheet on our intranet. Be able to click their name (toggle button) and it change the off cell from red to white and the on cell from white to green. Then they can save the excel sheet and close out for the next person.
edit: I would also need it to go back once they click it when they leave.
I have created the active x button, but so far the only thing I can do is get the 1 cell it effects to say true/false.

I have made an excel workbook detailing team performance that all of my team have access to and that requires updating once a day. The first person to access the workbook each day presses a Command Button that updates the workbook and inserts a time/date stamp. However, other members of the team go into the workbook and update it again the same day which then affects the data being reported.
I know i should probably just sack them for not being able to read the time and date but HR would not like that so is there a way to disable CommandButton1 (ActiveX) so that once it is pressed it is disables until the next day?

I am using the following code to copy a template to a new worksheet each month:

Everything copies over except an Activex Control button. I also have form control buttons with macros assigned to them, and they copy & paste just fine. The code assigned to the ActiveX button also copy's & paste's just fine...but the button itself does not.

I designed my spreadsheet incorrect.
Everything works good. But when I selecting tables with listbox, I forgot to notice that there also comboboxes.
I mean, rwgrietveld, I use selecting table to hide 'em, but when I hide 'em comboxes should also disappear (become invisible).
is it possible at all to make invisible activex commandbutton in selection?

Can Active-X control button macro be placed in a regular module, or does it always have to reside in the sheet module?
Or is the only way to accomplish this is to have the macro in the regular module being called from the button macro in the sheet module?
I somehow seem to remember a way to move/assign an Active-X ControlButton macro to a regular module, but maybe I'm wrong?

I would like to know the easiest way to temporarily keep a worksheet code from running while I am editing, then turn it back on when I am done. I was thinking a button with these commands(?)>

Application.EnableEvents = True
but I don't know which button to use, or if I would need a button for each.

I have a macro which hides rows in excel. The lines that I am hiding have a "Rounded Rectangle" shape inserted with a hyperlink. I want the shapes to be hidden as well when I hide the rows. However, when hiding the rows, the shapes persist. Is there a way to hide the shapes as well?
I am hiding the rows via the following vba code...

I have a workbook with two worksheets, "Main" and "Control".
Both of them are with hidden tabs (unchecked "show sheet tabs").
On worksheet "Main" I have command button which opens worksheet "Control".
The assigned makro is: Sheets("Control").Select
The problem is: when I open "Control" and close after that the workbook, the next time when I open the workbook "Control" pops-up instead of "Main" even though I do not save it.
1. I need macro on "Main" which will allow me to open "Control".
2. Regardless I "Save" or "Don't Save" "Control" when selected and workbook is closed, to open the workbook always displaying worksheet "Main".
I use Excel 2007 (at home) & 2010 (at office).

I have inserted images into cells, but when I hide the column the images are not hidden with that column, they just get squished between the two cells next to the hidden cell. Is there a setting or way to tie the image to that cell so that it hides/unhides appropriately with the row?

I am using Excel 2003. I have created a workbook containing two sheets. The first sheet is designed as a form for our managers to complete. The fields they are required to complete are based on the selection they choose from a drop down field (set up through data validation).
I have created a command button which when you click it opens up the second sheet of the workbook asking you to complete the individuals work pattern. I am trying to hide this button so that it only appears when you select certain options from the drop down field.
I have looked back through posts on here and have tried adding the VBA code to the worksheet around commandbutton1.vissible = False in an IF statement but can't get this to work. A colleague has suggested that you can't hide command buttons because they are fixed items - is this the case.

I am filtering the data displayed in a chart by hiding columns. I would also like to filter the X-Axis labels by hiding columns. If I do this manually I have no problems but when I run the following macro the chart gives a reference error for the X-axis labels.

Here's what I'm trying to do -
There's a sheet called "Main" and 38 other sheets that shows the data (these 38 sheets all have the exact same structure/layout). Let's say these 38 sheets are called "country1", "country2", .... "country38".
Based on user input in cell J10 in "Main", I want to show only the relevant columns in all of the 38 country sheets. Specifically,
If J10 in sheet "Main" = "Option 1", hide all columns in all 38 sheets except columns A to W.
If J10 in sheet "Main" = "Option 2", hide all columns in all 38 sheets except columns Y to AU.
If J10 in sheet "Main" = "Option 3", hide all columns in all 38 sheets except columns AW to BS.
If J10 in sheet "Main" = "Option 4", hide all columns in all 38 sheets except columns BV to CQ.
If J10 sheet "Main = "ShowAll", show all columns in all 38 sheets....
Cell J10 in "Main" will be a drop down bar with the 5 choices.....

I have a spreadsheet that I'm trying to hide specific columns. In Row 6 I have the day of the week (Sun thru Sat) and Row 7 with the respective date starting in column F to column ZZ.
I would like to hide all columns with Saturday and Sunday in row 6. I tried using VBA but I'm new to coding and can't figure out the correct syntax.
