I designed my spreadsheet incorrect.
Everything works good. But when I selecting tables with listbox, I forgot to notice that there also comboboxes.
I mean, rwgrietveld, I use selecting table to hide 'em, but when I hide 'em comboxes should also disappear (become invisible).
is it possible at all to make invisible activex commandbutton in selection?
I have created an ActiveX command button and the text on the button looks crude. I know that is not very descriptive but I am unsure how to describe it. The text looks jagged and some letters are missing chunks of their letters. The font I have chosen is Calibri.
If I create a Form Controls button I do not have this problem but I want the button to have a particular background color so I do not believe I can use a Form Controls button.
I do not know why the other Calibri text on the worksheet looks fine while the ActiveX Calibri text does not. The attached image shows the two buttons with the top one being the ActiveX button while the bottom is a Forms button.
I have made an excel workbook detailing team performance that all of my team have access to and that requires updating once a day. The first person to access the workbook each day presses a Command Button that updates the workbook and inserts a time/date stamp. However, other members of the team go into the workbook and update it again the same day which then affects the data being reported.
I know i should probably just sack them for not being able to read the time and date but HR would not like that so is there a way to disable CommandButton1 (ActiveX) so that once it is pressed it is disables until the next day?
well, the clear worked well and now I have another idea for a button for my worksheet;
I want the button to insert values from other cells. so when it is clicked, the values in cells F82-F86 are entered in cells E19 - E23.
I have a workbook with two worksheets, "Main" and "Control".
Both of them are with hidden tabs (unchecked "show sheet tabs").
On worksheet "Main" I have command button which opens worksheet "Control".
The assigned makro is: Sheets("Control").Select
The problem is: when I open "Control" and close after that the workbook, the next time when I open the workbook "Control" pops-up instead of "Main" even though I do not save it.
1. I need macro on "Main" which will allow me to open "Control".
2. Regardless I "Save" or "Don't Save" "Control" when selected and workbook is closed, to open the workbook always displaying worksheet "Main".

I have 10 activex labels. How do I make all 10 labels visible/invisible in vba coding?
Instead of typing label1.visible = true, label2.visible = true and so on.
I have two option buttons. I would like to have a command button disappear if one option is filled and reappear when the other option is filled. What is the best way to do this?

In tab Sheet1 there is Commandbuttons named "Sheet2" & "Sheet3". If i press "Sheet2" then i will be directed to sheet2 tab, same as "Sheet3". In tab Sheet2 & Sheet3 there is commandbutton "Sheet1", if i press the button then i will be directed to default tab which is sheet1.
I have a fairly straightforward UserForm with 4 listboxes and 4 option textboxes (the textboxes do not need to be a part of the validation I'm needing). I then have a command button that I want to be enabled ONLY if ANY of the 4 Listboxes have a selection. I've tried the "Change" event code below and it works upon the first selection of any listbox item.
However, if the user de-selects all selections in the listboxes (i.e. they are all unchecked), the command button remains enabled. I need the validation logic to enable/disable the button to persist as long as the user has the form open and if there is not a selection in ANY of the listboxes. The reason being is that if they click the command button it will update the cells in the worksheet, which if empty may overwrite previous work completed with blank cells.
I have a main worksheet that has two combo boxes. The first combo box has a list of machines. The second combo box brings up a list of models for the type of machine selected. I would like to insert a command button, that when pressed will open a different worksheet with the specs of the model selected in the second combo box. I am having trouble finding a starting point for the code to have the command button perform this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an excel sheet that lists a bunch of different recipes. Right now I have all the recipes saved in individual sheets. Each of these are hidden when the sheet is opened. I have a main sheet which lists all of the recipes names and when clicked, the specific sheet opens up. What I am looking for is a code that will hide all of the sheets except for the sheet "Sortable List" and "Detailed Lists". Each of the buttons I have which open up the recipe sheet look like this:

See I think the user might click on a bunch of the names to see the recipes and then get overwhelmed with there being so many open sheets.
Is there a way to make the last two digits in a number not show up (make them white) and also cut off the last two digits?

1) Make balance appear in column E5 only if column C5 OR D5 is polulated, so goes for the rest of the cell in that colu
2) I like to have 2 digits after the decimal but (same as above) i want it to appear ONLY if there are any decimals to that number, all those 0 become confusing.
3) I need to make it so the last calculated cell on sheet Jan of column E gets transfered auto to sheet Feb D3 of F3 so the calculations could proceed to the next month
I wanted to know if I can make an error message invisible or maybe have the text white so you can't see it. For example, Iam using the vlookup formula which works fine when it is reading right. But when there is no info in the cell I'm looking up I get a #N/A. So I would like to have this sheet set up so that when you enter someone's name it gives you address, cell, etc.... But if no name is entered, instead of showing #N/A in all the cells.....I would like it to just look like an empty cell. I'm thinking I can use conditioning formatting so that if there is an error message then the text color is white. Can't quite get it to work.

For eg:
Column A has a list which has values 'TC creation' , 'TC modification', 'System Test' etc.
Upon selecting TC creation, i need to make a column visible ie 'total tcs created'.
Upon selecting 'TC modification' i would have to make the previous column invisible and make a new column visible for entering no of tcs modified.
Upon selecting 'System test' the other columns should go invisible and make other 3 columns visible for no of tcs executed, no of tcs passed, no of tcs failed etc...

how to get some command buttons to stick in one place? I currently have two in a summary sheet. Each button runs a similar code which clears and deletes (by shifting cells upward) at the start of the process, then populates data.
It's rather annoying though that I cant have the buttons stick to one zone, they end up moving left or right depending on which button I press. Each report also changes column sizes, dont know if that's relevant?
On a worksheet, I have several commandbuttons. For many of the buttons the name in the "name box" is different than the name in the "(name)" field under Properties.
Researching this, I found this on msdn2.microsoft.com:
An ActiveX control on a sheet has two names: the name of the shape that contains the control, which you can see in the Name box when you view the sheet, and the code name for the control, which you can see in the cell to the right of (Name) in the Properties window. When you first add a control to a sheet, the shape name and code name match. However, if you change either the shape name or code name, the other isn't automatically changed to match.
So, in my case, one button has:
In the name box: "CommandButton5"
In the (name) properties field: "RunProcess"
The real problem arises when I'm using code to loop through the objects on the worksheet, and build an array of the object names. I'm trying to match the name of the buttons to their click events. In the code, "btn.name" returns the name found in the "name box". The one that I want is the name in the "(name)" field under properties because this is the one that matches the click event.
How can I determine, in code, what is entered in the "(name)" field for an object?
Is it possible that when you press a command button, that the first thing it does is to execute the code assigned to another command button (IE in another sub).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to be able to call one user form from multiple ActiveX command buttons. The problem is, the number of command buttons depends on user input on another worksheet, so it's variable.
I've renamed all of the command buttons so they are named "CommandButton" & i, where i is an integer between 1 and, say, 200. I want each of these buttons to direct to the same UserForm where additional information can be entered.
I can't think of a way around the event-handler procedure name.

How can I return name of a command button on click? I want to create some sort buttons on a sheet I will use regularly to speed things up. I thought if I could call each sort button by the column letter the button sits in I can use this in a single sub for all buttons

I have quite a few button whereby they set a parameter for a procedure 'TrendData' based on the row they sit in. Currently I just have the row number hard coded i.e. Call TrendData(5) but I want to amend this so that when I add a row it doesn't offset all my buttons.
For Example

However instead of typing CommandButton3, CommandButton4, etc. I would like the code to know which button had been clicked and just use that?
I have searched high and low and cannot seem to find an answer. I have inserted an ActiveX button in a cell to run 3 macros when pressed. I cannot get the 4-letter name on the button to appear centered on the button, unless I make the button larger than the cell, which I do not want to do.
