How Do I Create A Macro To Work In Shared Mode

Ive got a problem with a work book im working on at the moment, my company has various different documents created in excel, like a price list, cost price list & stock levels (all Independant) I have had the idea to join them all into a single shared workbook using an idea I found and modified over a year ago on this site, that had the promise of allowing multiple users to see the nessesary parts of the same document. the advantage of this being any new parts or prices or suppliers added would update all users at once. So ive got this workbook that when you open you get asked for a username & password this then hides/unhides, protects or unprotects to suit the users needs. This works great when unshared but when I share it the login box wont display

I am encountering a specific scenerio where In I am creating a New file by copying one of the sheets And renaming that With todays date. here starts me problem when I try To share the sheet To work around I am seeing that th macro Is Not copying the sheet properly even though i have given PasteSpecial. The code goes here
VB: AutoLinked keywords will cause extra spaces before keywords. Extra spacing Is Not transferred when copy/pasting, but Is If the keyword uses "quotes".

I’m using excel 2003 and I need help with the MODE function. I have a spreadsheet with 142 work types’ rows of work with each one showing the last 13 months of work received. I have set up a mode function for each work type, but for the ones when excel cannot work out the mode it puts n/a in and I have to do them manually, by looking at the last 13 months data and basically guessing a mode figure – which is a pain (e.g. if there was 13 different numbers from say 120 – 135 excel would give n/a but I would put the mode at around 128. As this spreadsheet gets updated monthly is there a way I can trick excel into giving a mode figure, or a figure close to what the mode should be. I have attached a sample of the spreadsheet.

is there a a way to get an Array formula to work in a shared workbook? when this was put in the workbook It worked perfectly but I didn't think about the fact the workbook was going to be shared !

I've created a spreadsheet at work that has two summary tabs which contain hyperlinks to around 30 separate sheet tabs.
On each sheet tab there is a list of unique values in column A (and other information relating to each value in columns B to D which are repeated for more than one unique value). In column E, users enter a test script name against each unique value they wish to 'reserve', and the macro picks out the unique test script names and via the COUNTIF formula counts the frequency of each test script name for each of the different values in column B.
My problem is that the macro seems to work fine if the workbook is not shared, but errors if the workbook is saved as shared. The error is 'Run time error 1004 - Unable to select the MergeCells property of the Range class'.

Is it possible to use design mode to create a button for multiples macros?
What i want to do is create like a list, and every selection run a different macro. I have a report that i want to use macro to make different filter selections, it would be about 20 different filters combination, so 20 buttons would be a mess... Is that possible or can i do it in another way?
And is possible to link the filter value to a different cell?

I am trying to create a shared database that tracks training for about 100 people. I've built a workable sheet, but the only way I have to share it over e-mail (there is no office NAS set up, and we're on a military base so we can't establish wifi).
Is there a way to set up a workbook that can be updated on one computer and instantly reflect that information in the cloud?
My goal is to have each team responsible for updating their own form and then have that information update my master tracker.

Is it possible to write code to paste a string in text select (double click in a cell) mode rather than cell select (single click a cell) mode? I need a string to paste in as if someone had double clicked then hit paste (so as to utilize special delimiters.) Here is the code that reads the workbook, finds the next available row, then pastes:

I have a peice of code which opens up a number of Workbooks (200+) and updates a series of control tables in each. Given our security etc environment, links and external references etc are not possible. The target files must all be standalone and self-sufficient.
The problem I have is that when I run the procedure in question in the usual way, the procedure simply terminates after the first file is opened. No error messages, no distress - it just stops. I have put debugging calls all around the "Workbook.Open" call, and it simply doesn't make it out of the call. There is no Auto_Open code in the workbooks being opened and (as I indicated above) no external links, references or function calls.
What's weird is that if I step through the procedure in the Command Debugger, everything works fine. Even weider, if I complete step-by-step processing on the first target file then I can press "Play" and the code will complete execution and process all the remaining files without error.
I have rebuilt/recreated/re-ordered the target files and even moved them to a different volume.
If anyone has seen this before, or has any idea what the cause may be, or even just a wild idea, I'd love to hear it.

I have Form Button in Excel Sheet which Calculates by reading other excel sheet. Now the problem is when user enters data in a Cell by double Clicking on it and after entering data if he directly clicks on a button then Macro that needs to be invoked is NOT executed. The only way is that he needs to press EnterKey OR Click on any other Cell and then click on the button.

I have users who don't press Enter (or move to a new cell) after entering text. They then try to click a form button - and of course - the macro does not run.
Is there an xl/vba solution to force them out of edit mode before clicking the button?

In an Excel worksheet all command buttons are disabled while a cell is in edit mode or while the cursor is active in the formula bar. Is there a way in VBA to save the cell's contents and execute a command button if clicked while a cell is in edit mode?

I have a shared worksheet my self and a few others key pricing into weekly, more or less a price check for stores we service. I have created another workbook that has the same basic template with links to the "shared" worksheet. In this workbook Im trying to run a macro to copy the pricing "template" into a new tab in the workbook. I keep getting this error as it pertains to "sheet". I would like the tab that is created to be named whatever the current day is if possible.

I've set up a macro to run in the workbook open event, to open a user form that restricts user access to the spreadsheet. This works fine, but I need to make the spreadsheet shared and when I open it the macro doesn't run. it's still possible to use the workbook_open event on shared workbooks or if not suggest an alternative method of running the macro on opening.

I wrote a code in unshared workbook and it works fine. But when i make it shared i get Run-time error '1004' Delete method of worksheet class failed.
The Deleting of worksheet only occurs once (when the new wb is created) so is there i can unshare and share it back when the process is complete?

I've got a macro function which calculates the area of a polygon freeform using the 'shoelace'-methode. I would like to excute this function after i leave the shape editing mode.
For example: I have a square, freeform shape. By right-mouseclick I can edit the shape nodes. If i drag one of the nodes of the square to another position and click outside of the shape, the new shape is updated. Right, on that moment i would like to trigger my macro to recalculate the area.
Is there an event in excel to aim for, like the Worksheet.change-event or something similar?

I am trying to open a xls file and convert into csv. My macro works when I'm in debug mode. but If i run the macro (Not in debug) mode then After opening a file control is not going to next function. What is problem? Even I am not getting any error too

have had to try to automate a function which will transfer all rows of data that an operator "checks" in a check box, to a seperate sheet before printing. Written under pressure with boss at my elbow so I will tidy later.
My problem is that there is a command within the macro (after the filtered data is copied over to Priority sheet) which will not allow the macro to fully execute when the file is shared.

Each row of the spreadsheet from a6:a25 is the planned production of one cellbuilder.
From this sheet I need to produce a work schedule of tasks to be performed by date.
Detailing, batch, cellbuilder number,weather 1st or 2nd graft etc, and the date available (for picking)
I would like the option to choose a daily or weekly schedule.
Is this possible ? and how would I even start to go about it. I just can't visualise how to do it.

I want to be able to calculate how many working days are between 2 dates if the employee works a non standard Monday to Friday Week. For Example if someone works ever Mon, Tues, Wed how many working days are there for them in June.

I think I'm totally missing something. The above works, except for the loop. None of the names show up in my immediate window, and none of the worksheets are activated. xlWB evaluates to nothing, which is where the problem has to be...but why would my first .Activate and Debug.Print lines work? Also, If I declare xlWb as Workbook then absolutely nothing works after the file is opened.
Basically what I want to do is open the file, do a bunch of a stuff with it, then save and close it. I have this all working without creating another object, but the opening of the file is still visible to the user. Seems like turning off ScreenUpdating doesn't truly work.

I have a shared workbook where 5-6 people could be updating the log sheet at any one time. The problem is a I have a macro that I would like to run to update ( cut n paste to different sheets, etc) that doesnt like running when the workbook is shared. What I currently do is have a button that when clicked - changes the document to exclusive, runs the macro, then changes back to shared. I was hoping I could run the macro on an worksheet event? But i'd like it to run only once - Possibly when its first opened for the day by anyone of the users.
