How Do You Hide Macros From Users

I have created some macros and assigned shortcut keys. The workbook is shared by other users. I want to keep these macros from being accessible to other users. I know that they can go to ToolsMacros and display the names of macros and run them. How can I prevent them from accessing the ToolsMacros? Or can I assign password to individual macros?
If I put the macros in individual sheets as Private, they don't show up on the ToolsMacros list, but then I can't assign shortcut keys.

I update an Excel file daily and save it to a server on a network. Other network users access this file from their own computers. I have a macro created that opens a dialog box upon opening that shows users know of anything important.
Since employees in the office have Excel set to Paranoid mode or something like that, they are never even prompted that macros exist and are intended to run and that they should choose to allow them to run or not.
I would like to approach the problem in a way other than asking all employees to activate all macros or to lower their Excel security settings at all times or only when opening this single document. That would be considered too inconvenient.

I have been looking at Dave's Script found in this post Determining if macros are enabled It works just like i want it too. But when I try and use it in my workbook with differnt sheet names it doesnt work. I have even tryed to rename the sheets in the example file and it stops working. My sheets are as follows:
Sheet1 (JI)
Sheet2 (GC)
Sheet3 (ET)
Sheet4 (SV)
Sheet5 (JB)
Sheet6 (P)

I have a workbook that I would like to share and allow multiple users to add and make changes at the same time. However, the workbook is full of macros that really need to run. Is this possible? The workbook is written in excel 2003.
If this is not possible then is it possible to share the workbook in a similar fashion but not allow any other users to make changes, but update their workbook with the changes that I make?

I have a sheet with macros that allows users to fill in data from columns F10 to O10 from row 10 to 54.
Column P will then make some computations based on the inputs from col F to O.
Row 55 will also make some computation based on inputs from row 10 to 54.
How to I modify the code below to allow users to either add/delete columns and rows such that it does not fowl up the computations?
The computation does not have to be at column P or at row 55, they can be dynamic and change depending on how many rows and columns the users delete/add.
A little background on what the code does. From Column F to O, the code UNLOCKS the columns only if user inputs date in Cell 3 of that particular column.
Example. Column F is locked from F10 to infinity at the start. Only when user inputs date into F3 does the cells F10:F54 is unlocked for user to input data.
This goes on until column O. I want users to be able to add more columns, or delete ones they don't need.

I am using Reafidy nice bit of code to hide worksheets if the user disables macros. The problem, though, is that it doesn't work for Chart Worksheets. How should I adjust this to accommodate charts?

Is there a way to hide rows in VBA a la "VeryHiddenSheet" so that the row disappears without the blue line, etc. showing as you would when done manually in Excel?

Ive opened some files here in this forum that when you just click a button, macros will run. But when you view the macros, there's none. How can i do this? Some kind of an executable one. I have like 8 macros.

I have recorded 2 macros which helps me protect my sheet as intended. when the user runs the macro, and clicks on cancle then debug, it reveals the password entered for the macro.

1) Force user to enable macros.
2) keep three worksheets very hidden all the time.

I have been using this code to force user to enable macros but this unhides all sheets other than "macros not enabled" sheet. I need three worksheets to remain very hidden all the time. How do I do this.

I would like to keep the current macros that I have and add the following:
A macros that can link the check boxes with the corresponding categories and rows in the other two sheets. If the box is checked the corresponding rows in the other sheets should appear.
I have color matched the check boxes with the rows on the two other sheets I would like to be linked up with.

Basically, I want cell A1 to display the message "Macros must be enabled for this document to display properly", then have that text replaced with a picture (jpeg logo) if macros are enabled. I know I need to put the code in the Workbook_Open sub, but I keep getting the "error 1004, cannot modify visible property of picture object" when I try to tinker with "visible = true".
*EDIT* - The picture must be embedded in the spreadsheet somehow, and hidden from view when macros are disabled. (Having the picture crammed into a single cell at IV65536 is fine.)
Thoughts?

Is there any option to deactivate the "Disable macros"
Or
When i open the userform it asks for enable and diable macros. If i click "Disable macros" then the users can manipulate the data inside the excel sheet. i need to avoid this problem.
So, is there any option that if i do "Disable macro" then the corresponding sheet for the which the Userform is linked should not be visible or hidden.

I have an Excel 2003 program that contains macros. One of the macros hides certain command bars and disables the worksheet menu bar. On close the opposite is true. The problem is, if a user uses the disable macros when opening then the worksheet menu bar and other command bars are still available. I would like to hide all of the data sheets and display another sheet that would normally be hidden displaying a message that the macros have to be enabled for the program to work correctly if disable macros is chosen. When the enable macros are used I would like the Error page to be hidden.

I have a user that keeps a maintenance log in an Excel worksheet and sends an updated copy once a week to a board member. Two weeks ago, the board member started complaining that he was prompted to enable/disable macros on opening and became worried when my user stated that no macros were used in the book. He is now concerned that we have sent him a virus.
I know the file is clean because I've scanned it, and when I look at the file in VB, there are no modules or classes present just the Sheets 1-3 and the ThisWorkbook file. None of these objects have any code in them. My user does have some macros in PERSONAL.XLS but they are not used in the workbook in question.
No one else gets the prompt for enabling/disabling macros. Even if I set my security to prompt for any macros, I get no message. I'm convinced that there must be some setting in his Excel that is causing this individual to get this message. Is there anything else other than a macro that would cause this?

Is there a way to hide a macro from the list where you choose which to run, but not in the VBA editor? The userbox I just created calls upon 2 different macros, and has a macro to bring up the userbox. I need a way to hide the macros in Module3 from selection, but keep the macros in Module4 available to choose to run.

a) hide them if they are not hidden, or
b) unhide them if they are hidden,
i.e. toggle the Hide state.

I have a macro in which i can enter the rows i want to hide.
If i want to hide "position 32" i have to enter the number 8 of the row. This works fine. But now if i want to hide the "position 32" from Sheet1 it also should hide the rows 4-8 from Sheet2 [Data with 32].
Or if i hide "position 34" in Sheet1 [row 10] it also should hide the rows 14-18 in Sheet2.

I am filtering the data displayed in a chart by hiding columns. I would also like to filter the X-Axis labels by hiding columns. If I do this manually I have no problems but when I run the following macro the chart gives a reference error for the X-axis labels.

I am after increasing the number of allowed users that can log onto a form. Currently I have used someone elses code, but that seems to only allow 1 userID to be able to log in. I am not after making the sheet into Fort Knox, just a simple UserID so I know who hasd made any changes.

I have two macros. Macros 1 opens another excel file, counts the number of rows it has, inserts that number of rows into the master file and then copies the data over. Key code as follows (x3 for 3 worksheets)...

Macros 2 'cleans' the appended data by systematically going through each row, checking if certain cells have data, and if not deletes the rows. Key code as follows (x3 for 3 worksheets)...

Here's the weirdness. macros 1 runs fairly quick the first time out (few seconds). Macros 2 takes about 2 minutes to run (which I'm fine with). However, when I run macros 1 AFTER running Macros 2, Macros 1 goes from taking a few seconds to a few minutes.

how to use excel 4 macros. I do not even know where to put them. I have inherited some spreadsheets that have both Xcel 4 Macros and vba macros in them. (Well, I get a warning that I cannot switch them off when I disable macros on opening a workbook). I cannot even find the offending version 4 macros so that I can re-code them in VBA.

I want to run an event for specific user. In this case, only John Doe should be able to run this command. It works fine if i put john doe in there and i get the MSGBOX since my windows log in is not John doe. But when I put my windows login there (and only I can run it), i dont get any msgbox or the rest of the command does not run..

Although I'm able to write UDFs and distribute addins, one thing I've found is that if you use a UDF formula on a sheet on one machine, save it, then open it on another, Excel doesn't automatically look in the local .xla for the formula. In fact it tries to find it on the network (expecting to locate the originating user's machine, I suspect) and then throw a strop....

When I clicked insert button, my B column move to C and B column become protected and C become unprotected. I have a workbook that is linked to 2 text files and updates just fine for me but when someone else opens it it does not calculate the new information just keeps the old. New text files are ran from our database to excel every night. When the workbook is opened the formulas should recalculate based on the updated info in the text files. Problem is when I open the file it performs perfectly and updates as it is supposed to but when my colleague opens the file it is not updating and does not show the new updates. I have checked to make sure the calculation is set to automatic. I have also confirmed that we are both working with 2003 version. I even had her open the text files and close and reopen the workbook and no go. I hat her do ctrl+alt+f9, even ctrl+alt+shift+f9. Had her click on the function, hit enter and nothing. Even tried find and replace = with = to wake up excel and nada.

We use a spreadsheet for developing loans. I can open and print all of them just fine and so can almost all of the other employees. We have two people, though, that have the margins change when they open them. I can open it and have it be just fine, close it, they open the exact same file and see changed margins.
How to change that. I don't want them to have to do it on each spreadsheet. I am looking for a complete, one-time-only fix.
