Hide Password Input

Jul 12, 2007

like PHP, you can enter a box and have it so what is entered is meant to be a password, so puts stars where the text is. I would like to do something like that with VB INPUT tag:

pw = Input ("Please enter Password:")

Is there a method I can add to this to make it cover the text being typed?

Hide & Unhide Columns With Password

I have a range of columns ( J:AH) which i have to hide from the user interface. In order to unhide, the editor must enter a password. He/ She can only enter the password thrice. After 3 times, if it is still wrong, the whole workbook must be closed. Is this possible? If not, I'll settle for something less complicated.

Password Protect/hide The Spreadsheet, Not Forms

May 17, 2007

I am making a database system that tracks student activity in my schools lab for people taking foreign language courses. I'm trying to make it so students must use the userform to manage they're checking in and out, and not be able to have any direct access to the Spreadsheet itself. Also, it would be nice if the whole Spreadsheet was hidden, invisible, and only the user forms could be seen.

How Do You Hide Macros From Users

Jan 30, 2009

I have created some macros and assigned shortcut keys. The workbook is shared by other users. I want to keep these macros from being accessible to other users. I know that they can go to ToolsMacros and display the names of macros and run them. How can I prevent them from accessing the ToolsMacros? Or can I assign password to individual macros?

If I put the macros in individual sheets as Private, they don't show up on the ToolsMacros list, but then I can't assign shortcut keys.

Excel 2007 :: Hide Sheets On Opening And Password Protect Viewing

Nov 1, 2009

I have an Excel 2007 workbook which has five sheets in. I just wondered whether it is possible to hide all five of them when the workbook is first opened. Also I would like the user to be asked for a password when they wish to unhide a sheet, with the password being different for each of the sheets.

Is there also a way to do this which won't be affected by Excel disabling all Macros when the application initially opens.

Excel 2010 :: Hide Worksheet Password In VBA Code Without Project Protection

Nov 5, 2012

I have a 2010 excel workbook with several locked worksheet (to which I manage the PW). I and another staff member manage different section of the macro but the other staff member doesn't have access to the locked areas.

Is there a way I can encrypt the password within VBA so it's not visible to the other staff member?

Locking the VBAProject doesn't work as the other staff member has to be able to edit his VBA section.

Many staff run the macro (via a button) and don't need to access the Macro and don't have access to the protected sheets.

I understand excel isn't ideal with PW protection for people wanting to bypass the protection and this isn't an issue.

Worksheets("Macros Not Enabled").Visible = True
For Each ws In Worksheets

If ws.Name "Macros Not Enabled" Then ws.Visible = True

Hide And Password Protect The VBA Code So That They Can't Just Change The Pictures Visible Section To True

Nov 7, 2008

I've used VBA to make a picture appear when all the correct answers have been entered and it all works well. However, not to be too mean to 15 year olds, many of my students can be devious little feckers, and I want to hide and password protect the VBA code so that they can't just change the pictures visible section to true. I can password protect the workbook and worksheet, but not the VBA.

I'm entering the Visual Basic editor and I can see my simple script. I then click Tools - VBproject properties - protection. I'm clicking the "Lock Project for Viewing" box then filling in the password and confirming the password and clicking OK. But I can still see and edit my script, despite protecting the sheet and workbook.

Hide Picture By Default, Display If Macros Enabled

Apr 7, 2008

Basically, I want cell A1 to display the message "Macros must be enabled for this document to display properly", then have that text replaced with a picture (jpeg logo) if macros are enabled. I know I need to put the code in the Workbook_Open sub, but I keep getting the "error 1004, cannot modify visible property of picture object" when I try to tinker with "visible = true".

*EDIT* - The picture must be embedded in the spreadsheet somehow, and hidden from view when macros are disabled. (Having the picture crammed into a single cell at IV65536 is fine.)

Thoughts?

Password Protect: Unlock The Worksheet, Autofilter It, Print It, Unfilter It, And Password Protect The Sheet Again?

Encourage Enabling Of Macros: Disable Macros When Opening Then The Worksheet Menu Bar And Other Command Bars Are Still Available

Aug 26, 2009

I have an Excel 2003 program that contains macros. One of the macros hides certain command bars and disables the worksheet menu bar. On close the opposite is true. The problem is, if a user uses the disable macros when opening then the worksheet menu bar and other command bars are still available. I would like to hide all of the data sheets and display another sheet that would normally be hidden displaying a message that the macros have to be enabled for the program to work correctly if disable macros is chosen. When the enable macros are used I would like the Error page to be hidden.

Enable/Disable Macros When No Macros Are Present

Jul 28, 2008

I have a user that keeps a maintenance log in an Excel worksheet and sends an updated copy once a week to a board member. Two weeks ago, the board member started complaining that he was prompted to enable/disable macros on opening and became worried when my user stated that no macros were used in the book. He is now concerned that we have sent him a virus.

I know the file is clean because I've scanned it, and when I look at the file in VB, there are no modules or classes present just the Sheets 1-3 and the ThisWorkbook file. None of these objects have any code in them. My user does have some macros in PERSONAL.XLS but they are not used in the workbook in question.

No one else gets the prompt for enabling/disabling macros. Even if I set my security to prompt for any macros, I get no message. I'm convinced that there must be some setting in his Excel that is causing this individual to get this message. Is there anything else other than a macro that would cause this?
