I am trying to automatically insert multiple (100) worksheets using VBA. The names I need each worksheet to be named are in a list in a separate worksheet in the same workbook. I found this site: http://www.mindspring.com/%7Etflynn/excelvba3.html and have been trying to adapt the following
Sub AddSheetWithNameCheckIfExists()
Dim ws As Worksheet
Dim newSheetName As String
newSheetName = Sheets(1).Range("A2") ' Substitute your range here
For Each ws In Worksheets
If ws.Name = newSheetName Or newSheetName = "" Or IsNumeric(newSheetName) Then
MsgBox "Sheet already exists or name is invalid", vbInformation
Exit Sub
End If
Next
Sheets.Add Type:="Worksheet"
With ActiveSheet
.Move after:=Worksheets(Worksheets.Count)
.Name = newSheetName
End With
End Sub
I am having difficulty iterating the code from cell A2 to A102.
I am wanting to make a table that shows values from multiple sheets. The individual sheets are essentially a template, and I would like to be able to grab a value from the same cell in different sheets and make a table. Can I do it without having to get each value individually? Perhaps put most clearly, I would like to have a table that shows the value at 'C1' in each sheet without having to manually select 'C1' from each sheet.
I'm simply trying to take for example cell A1 from multiple sheets and list them vertically on a master sheet. When you drag it down it does not alter the sheet number, that just stays static.
I'm trying to track information pertaining to employees across different worksheets in one excel file. I have one sheet that is the master list of employees. The first column of every worksheet is the same (employees names based on their location) but track different information.
I want to be able to create a macro button that will update all the worksheets if i insert or delete an employee from the master list. When a new row is inserted, the other worksheets should be updated as well with the new name and a blank row to be filled in. And when a name is deleted, the entire row should be deleted as well.
I need to lookup & count the number of cells from column I to BH with values greater than 0 in sheet 2 and return the results to the corresponding list of items in sheet 1. However, the data in sheet 2 have duplicate list of items and may have duplicate values as well from Column I to BH which I wanted to be counted as 1 only. I'm attaching a file as a reference.
I am trying to create a list of residents, unit types, and unit numbers. I have 3 problems with the following code.
1) The code ignores sheets that have no value in the specified cell. I need it to return a blank cell for those in order to keep the data in each column matched with the sheet it came from.
2) The code includes data from hidden sheets. I only want to list data from unhidden sheets. And more specifically, I want to omit data from unhidden sheets that have their tab colored black.
3) The code includes data from the sheet named "Totals" which I thought I was telling it to ignore.
I have this workbook with 22 sheets and 21 are hidden. On the one open sheet there is a button that opens a userform with a listbox. I have radio buttons on the side to control whether the list box allows single selection, multiple selection, and extended selection. I want to change extended to open all sheets.
Anyway, I have the list box populated but I can't figure out how to code opening single sheets, multiple sheets, or all sheets depending on the radio button selected when the OK button is pressed. I know the listbox depends on the selected property but I am stuck. Here is the code I had but it is a mess. I am still new to VBA.
Private Sub OKButton_Click() Dim Msg As String Dim i As Integer Dim UserSheet As Object If ListBox1.ListIndex = -1 Then Msg = "Please select a sheet." Else Msg = "" For i = 0 To ListBox1.ListCount - 1 If ListBox1.Selected(i) Then For Each i In ListBox1..........................
I'm trying to get this formula to work across multiple worksheets. It suppose to list names in alphabetical order. I'm using these define names to get it to work. Also may I have another formula that list unique names in alphabetical order?
I am trying to pull data from multiple textboxes on multiple worksheets and compile it into a list on a mastersheet. I have searched multiple forums and I have been unable to piece together anything. I have attached an example workbook of the data that I am trying to compile. I am trying to pull the data for the textbox next to NAME, SS#, and SCHED. I have tried recording a macro for 1 sheet and then modifying the macro to work for on all worksheets but failed miserably.
I am hoping to create a drop down list of months in one sheet, and when I select a certain month, columns in about 10 other worksheets in the same workbook will either hide or unhide columns...
The spreadsheet is laid out with columns (C-N) for each month in the year, for actuals, then columns for budget and budget variance (O-P), then YTD Actual, YTD Budget and YTD Variance. When I select September, for example, I want October-December to hide, and leave Jan-Sep unhidden, while keeping the budget, YTD and variance columns.
I have a text data stored in same cell of different worksheets on the same file. I need to list them down in a single fresh worksheet. Is there any formula or any way that I may use?
I found a macro code in this forum (Macro: Insert Sheet & Name As Cell Text first empty cell it should stop, but I do not know how to do that. (for example: If cells text is: A1: DOG, B1: CAT, C1: MOUSE then macro should create worksheets named DOG, CAT and MOUSE). I would save code to macro.xls file, in that file it would be also worksheet named LIST with cells names A1: DOG, B1: CAT, C1: MOUSE... in first row. But I would like to run macro on other files, so this new worksheets would be created in that new file and not in macro.xls where where macro and LIST are saved.
Sub AddSheets() Dim strName As String strName = Sheets(1).Range("A1") Sheets.Add After:=Sheets(Sheets.Count) ActiveSheet.Name = strName End Sub
I have a workbook with many many sheets in it. The first sheet contains a single column with about 10,000 different values. I'd like to use each of these as search criteria against ALL data in the other sheets (of which there are a good 50 or so). If matches are found (they don't have to be exact case), then I'd like two things to happen:
1. The rows containing the matched search criteria in the first sheet are highlighted.
2. In the cells adjacent to the search criteria in the first sheet, hyperlinks to the matched data are created and named after the sheet upon which this matched data appears.
I've attached a sample file to this post with ideal sample 'answers' to queries made of the first 2 terms.
I have about 100 worksheets in my excel workbook and each sheet is identical. I would like to create a control sheet that would add the cells of the different worksheets together and place it in the control. I tried doing it manually but found out quickly that it would take forever since I have a about 10 cells that I need to put on the control sheet.
For example on the control sheet in J11 I want to put in: ='1'!J11+'2'!J11......'100'!J11

Attached is what I use as a Calendar Macro and it works great for single active cell use.
I have a column for 'Notes' and I can only use 1 cell per item so every time I have an update about a specific item I go the to notes section and put a date and leave few spaces then type in whatever the notes are. Currently I'm doing it manually and I tried to use my macro on the Notes column and what it does is to remove everything in the cell and replace it with whatever date I choose in the calendar.
find a way to use my current Calendar Macro to add a date in the cell instead replacing everything in the cell with a date.
L column fills with numbers. if L1 value is 5 then below need to insert 5 rows.
I tried below Macro.
But it getting Error.
Sub InsertRowswork1()
Dim LastNumber As Long: LastNumber = ActiveSheet.Range("L" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row While LastNumber >= 2 If Not IsEmpty(ActiveSheet.Range("L" & LastNumber)) Then
I have nearly 200 worksheet in a same workbook. Sheet 1 is the index sheet. Now I need to copy cell values from A1:C1 of all 200 sheets to A1:C1 , A2:C2 , A3:C3...A200:C200 of index sheet. How can I do it automate?
I have a data set that I wish to look up the data from one column and if it is greater then 0 write it in another column separated by commas. Here is an example:
The data is dates that a service was provided and how many time that day it was done and not everyone gets the service on the same days. I would like to summarize the days of the month that service was provided not number of times into 1 cell.
A B C Row 1 November Row 2 1 5 15 Row 3 1 0 2 Row 4 0 1 3
November is in A3
If A2 is greater then 0 I want to write A1 A2 If A2 and A3 is greater then 0 I want to write A1 A2, A3 If A2 is 0 and B2 is greater then 0, I want to write A1 B2
I have many worksheets named with client names and in different order from what I see in VB.
How can I copy cell C6 from each sheet into a column somewhere (it doesnt matter)
But the order of worksheets is messed up (On VB Sheet1 is in 3d place sheet2 is in 10nth place ... and so on) I need the vales to be pasted in the order of which I see the worksheets when I open the file.
I am trying to return the SUM of a variable cell across multiple worksheets... This 3D formula works
=SUM('March 2012:December 2013'!E27)
I wanted the formula on the next row to ref F27 then G27 etc... (which I can't just drag down) so thought I'd try to "assemble" the formula I wanted using the INDIRECT function...
I tried this formula which doesn't seem to work...
=SUM(INDIRECT("'"&E6&":"&E27&"'!E27"))
NOTE: the script in the INDIRECT brackets returns the text string... 'March 2012:December 2013'!E27
I have a spreadsheet with many worksheets, everyone except the first representing a year. Every worksheet has twelve tables (the months), the first row of each table has the days of the month and the second row has the data that I put on a daily basis. The first worksheet calculates statistics using the data from the other worksheets.
I am looking for a formula that returns the date by finding the last populated cell and looking right above it, so I can use this info in the first worksheet to show when the spreadsheet was last updated.
I have a column where each cell contains the names of a variable number of worksheets in the format ["sheet1", "sheet2", etc. ] without the brackets but with the quotation marks. I would like to have some code that will select all of the sheets mentioned in a given cell. I found lots of threads about selecting an individual sheet based on a cell, but none about selecting multiple sheets. If it is easier, I can change the format of of the cells, or break each cell out into multiple cells in a given row. The best code I could come up with was
Sub Selects() Dim strSht As String Sheets("Criteria").Select strSht = ActiveSheet.Range("L31") Sheets( Array(strSht)).Select End Sub
I have multiple worksheets (too many, actually!) and each worksheet is a record. I need to enter a Record Number into B5 of each sheet. The Record Number doesn't start at 1. I'd like to enter a number into the first sheet and the rest of the sheets to increase by 1. However, I only need to do this to some sheets.
I have the below macro which is failing to insert text into A1 of the Header Sheet, followed by the values in the designated cells that are from Sheet1. I would also like to have the values in cells J2 and K2 enclosed in single quotes.
Sub Header() Worksheets("Header").Activate ActiveSheet.Cells(1, 1).Select ActiveCell.Value = "create or replace" & " '" & Sheet1.Range("J2").Cell.Value & "' " & " '" Sheet1.Range("K2").Cell.Value & "' " End Sub
how do I get it into the nicely formatted version most of you are using? The Mr Excel HTML add-in?
We have the following formula in our timesheets. Basically when we enter a Job number in one cell in say Tab1, it will return the matching project name in a different cell that we have next to the project number. The job number match is done in the tab named "ProjectSchedule", where all the details of the project are listed. We need to extend the match range to include another tab named "CustomSchedule", but I can't figure out how to make the first formula search jobs from both tabs.
I am trying to write a Macro that would go into same specific cells in multiple worksheets and paste the data into one summary worksheet if ofcourse a criteria is met.
The multiple worksheets have the same format. The worksheets are numbered 001, 002, 003, 004, etc (increase on a daily base) ..
