Kill Files With Specific Names

I have a directory that contain a large number of files. How do i preserve certain files with specific filenames while other files are deleted?
For example,
I have files that are named : "58-26150B", "58-26200", "58-26200B", "58-26500B", "58-26550" etc. Please refer to uploaded screenshot.
The files that i want to keep from the above are "58-26200", "58-26200B". The code should be able to loop through the entire directory & preserve only specific files while deleting the rest.

I have this script (below, Krishnakumar orignally provided this script).
I'm trying to edit it to add cell values from cells C16 and E16 along with the worksheet name it displays in listbox2. So lets say worksheet "rollover" is the sheet being displayed in the listbox2.
I would like for it to look something like this:

I have the below macro which had previously worked for me, but now I am getting a runtime error. I tried troubleshooting this on my own now, but am coming up with nothing.

I hate to post this again, but I still cannot figure this out and I haven't gotten any response. I need help folks.
The code below forces a new file to download each time the workbook TEST_CASE_1.xls is opened. I can't seem to get it to kill the _temp.xls file or save the new file (without being prompted "Do you want save"). Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?

I've got a sheet that I need to convert certain rows into CSV for a payroll package. I'm using excel 2003 on XP.
I have worked out a macro to save it as a csv file with a different name. The only way I managed to do this was by creating an xls file with the data I wanted and then saving it as a csv file with a different name. But now I need to delete the intermediate xls file (called pre CSV in this example). I have the following code which seemed to work first time but is now giving me the error "Runtime error 53 - File not found" and highlights the. What am I doing wrong?

The following code accesses the external aplpication 'Avaya CMS Supervisor' and loops through a worksheet full of data pulling reports. Everthing works great. After running this code there is nothing in Task Manager that is Avaya related, however when I try to physically open/login to the application it hangs at logging in.
In order to get physically logged in, you must shut Excel completely down. That's why I don't think this is Avaya related, but more something in Excel.

I have 2000 excel files all saved as different names.
The Names of the the files are all from greyhound racing results, here are some examples.
4th January 2008 7.30
4th January 2008 7.45
So we have the date of the race and the time of the race.
In these 2000 files there is certian information I want to retrieve into 1 excel sheet to run analisis on them.
So cell A1 in every file is always the same and may contain a number I need.There are several numbers I want to retrieve from each file but I want it to display in 1 sheet, now I can do this manually and may have to but lets see.

I have a template that needs to show one of 4 logos. The logo shown is the ONLY difference between the four models (A, B, C & D). My life would be much simpler if the template includes all four logos, and a switch controlled the one logo they want to see on each model. But the way I first programmed it absolutely KILLED my processing times for the model's many VBA macros.
What's the best way to accomplish this objective without sacrificing my VBA?

I want two sheets of my Excel workbook to be saved as txt file. The name of the file is compiled of a fixed part ("TrialList" or "BlockList") and two values from another sheet (subject and session number):

Now, saving the text files with the desired file names works perfectly. However, Excel decides to change the names of the sheets that have been saved as text files accordingly. This is something I want to prevent from happening, since a second loop of actions will end because of the unexpected sheet names...

I tried to write some VBA code to loop through all the files in a folder and return the name of the file. (In my current example, all the files are excel workbooks)
Here is the code I have used:

I work for schools use data to guide teachers practices in the classroom. My main function is to mine down through data for kids that teachers focus on specific skills with specific children.
I start with a big conference each summer. By hand I combine, by student name, the data collected over the past school year. We then tear down to student levels setting goals based on statistical analysis. I need to combine across all of these csv files in a way that appends the data from each into one line per kid. I thought that 'vlookup' or 'index, match' might do it. I don't know.

I have a music folder on my computer with a TON of music in it. Some folders have sub-folders as well.
I need an easy way to point to a specific folder and pull ALL the names of the files within that folder and all of the sub-folders and put them on an Excel worksheet.
So a brief example...
Main Folder: Now That's What I Call Music
Sub-Folders: Volume 1, Volume 2, Volume 3, etc
And within each sub-folder is at least 2 more folders named CD1 and CD2.
I want to pull the name of every song in ALL of these folders into one collective list in Excel.

I'm trying to build a macro to open multiple files at one time that will always be saved in a consistent drive. The problem is that sometimes there will only be one file for a month (ie only at month-end) and other times, there may also be additional files for different dates throughout the month. I wont know ahead of time how many files there will be, but they will always be saved in the same file name type that is "FILE DESCRIPTION MM-DD-YYYY". How can I build a loop that looks for a file on each possible day but doesn't error out if the file doesn't exist?

I have some code to email a single, different excel file to multiple Outlook recipients. I am using Outlook 2003, and Excel 2007. I always use Compatability mode in Excel as 2007 is not widely used.
The code is shown below. What I can't understand is why it fails at the code highlighted red. It tells me that there is Run-time Error '13': Type Mismatch, but I can't see the issue.

I am a complete novice with VBA and would like to write a macro that will allow me to import multiple text files stored in a folder on my directory into a single excel worksheet. I would also like the name of each text file to be output in a separate column for each row of data in the worksheet i.e. each row is 'named' with the title of the file it comes from.
The text files are comma delimited and have 5 fields e.g.

I have a lot of files with data that i need to copy into a master file.
I could open each file copy the data i need and paste it into the file. But I know there must be a way to do a loop macro.
All the files are labled "Sauce Data "Date"". all the data is in the same place in each file. I can easy have a list of all these file names in a tab in a main file "Main Data".
I what to be able to open each file copy from tab "Sauce info" A1:B65, and paste into "Main Data", tab "main" and then create a long list of data.

I have a list of filenames in Sheet1, range A1:A20. These files can be found in URL
http://mysite/x/y. Where y is the filename (including the extension) and x is the 1st 4 characters of the filename. So if in A1 I have the filename AB1234.pdf, this can be found in the link: http://mysite/AB12/AB1234.pdf. Is there a was in VBA where I can loop thru the list in A1:A20, and copy each from their respective URLs and save into C:Documents and Settings ?

I have a sheet that has the same employee names several times in different orders in the same column with data to the right of it. Example
Name.......Pieces...hrs
.....A........B........C
(1)John...1000......12
(2).........2000......20
(3)Jay.....2000......31
(4).........2500.....20
(5)John...2000.....50
(6).........5000.....60
(7)Bill......1200.....40
(8)..........3000.....60
I need the peices and hours total for each name on another sheet. So I would have John on my sheet and would need to to grab and add the info from B2 & B6 into one cell (since it is the same person). I can always drag the info over for hours once I find a way to do this for the pieces I would think. The problem is that I don't want to add in B1 & B2 for John because those numbers are not a part of the total.
So is there a way or formula for one cell to look at the entire sheet and everytime it sees the name john to add the information one column over and one cell down and then give a total?
I may be able to do some formatting and have all the info I need directly to the right. So I would have (A1) John, (B1) Data, (C1) Data. The issue would be a cell finding the name, taking the information directly to the right of it and adding it as many times as the name is found on the sheet.

I am developing a macro to select cells within a worksheet based on certain criteria and to make a list of their range names. My approach is to copy the range names to a column of cells using something like the following text:
Sheets("mySheet").Range("myRange").Name.Copy
but I get an error message saying "Object doesn't support this property or method". Why can't I copy a range name, and is there a way to work around this?

I have a code that goes through and deletes everything that doesn't contain a certain word, but I have several words ( Names actually) that I need to keep in my sheet, but all others can be deleted, along with their rows...the names are on in Column B...there are about 11 names currently and probably be adding a few more next month...This is a macro that is set for work to go through like I said a lot of Rows and delete all them but those that have the names of the workers I need to keep in the sheet...the names are scattered throughout, which is the reason for a need of a macro to do it for me cause it takes me forever to manually do it each day...The code for just one person I can't get to do multiple names so this is what I came up with based off what I know plus reading hundreds of pages on the net regarding similar style needs, but none exactly the same....

My company is soon to be rolling out a new payment system, and I'd like to be able to track commission for everything I sell. Briefly, we get paid via a percentage of the company's gross profit, and the way in which the company gets paid is tiered. (the cellphone business)
So, If a customer activates a plan thats below $39.99, we get paid X amount. If it's below $59.99 we get paid Y amount, and so on and so forth, there are multiple different tiers.
What I want to do is set up a list via data validation so that I can pick what plan they have (via the name of the plan) and have it return a numerical value (ie $39.99) and also have the ability to pick text messaging, etc as options so that the workbook will add the monthly rates (39.99 + 14.95) and then have it return value for the right priceplan tier.
If this is confusing, I apologize for not being more clear, but attached is an example. The top one is what I'm actually trying to code, but the bottom is completely filled in, so you can get a more clear sense of what I'm trying to do. Honestly I'm not even sure if it can be done.

the active sheet contains a number of defined named ranges. i would like to delete range names beginning with "Sales", yet the number of defined ranges changed from sheet to sheet = for example, Sheet1 may have 3 defined ranges (Sales1, Sales2, Sales 3), Sheet 2 may have 1 (Sales 1). Is it possible to included a wildcard search in the following code?

How can i make a best XI team from a list of weekly scores in my Fantasy Football league?
Players are as follows:-
One goalkeeper - Top scoring goalkeeper per week
Four defenders - Top four scorers per week
Three midfielders - Top three scorers per week
Three forwards - Top three scorers per week
I need it to find the top scoring players in the above categories and then display them in a specified area.
I also need this to happen for each individual week, NOT cumulative. literally, the highest scoring XI players, as listed above, for the present week.
