I have created a cover sheet with various command buttons linking into the available worksheets. I was wondering if it is possible to set the title of the command buttons by linking them to the text in a particular cell in each work sheet??

I want to be able to have a link that uses cell data as the passed function parameter!
I want to do this so I can simply copy the formula down for new rows and not have to create a command button for each row?
Maybe there is an entirely much easier way to do what I want?
FOR EXAMPLE, the 1st column would be a link to an entry form passing the 2nd column which would be an ID field.
i have attached my sample spreadsheet that i need to have a code to link to specific cells value.
whenever i click on the command button on beside Activation 1 it will go to Activation 1 sheet/tab.
I am trying to create a sheet with 'buttons' on, a bit like a 'linked table of contents', that will take the user to individual sheets (as opposed to clicking on the sheet tabs). I can see how to place Command buttons on a sheet (in this case Sheet1), but I think I need help with the code to make the buttons function as I envisage. Is this in the scope of help via this forum?

View 4 Replies View RelatedThere is a 'Home' page with a button for each employee - clicking the button takes the user to the appropriate employee's timesheet
There is also an 'Add New Employee' button on the home page which brings up a form and allows a new employee to be added.
Each employee has only 1 worksheet (Which is created based on a blank template page)
When the 'Add New Employee' button is clicked a form pops up which ask for name, D.O.B etc. The user fills out the form and clicks ok. The template sheet is then copied, renamed to the employees name, and all relevent fields are added to the template sheet (based on the users input). A button is also generated on the home page with the employees name as a caption and when it is clicked it goes to employees timesheet.
I have almost got this working.
The only problem is this only works once, So For Example say i Add 'John' then i add 'Mary' on the home page i now have 2 buttons with 'John' and 'Mary' on them. The problem is as soon as a second employee is added (Mary), the first employees button(John) is linked to the second employee's Sheet rather than its own(Mary). and after the spreadsheet is closed the buttons dont work at all.

I want a floating userform (showmodel = false) to display the results of a cell.
On excell spreadsheet I can assign a cell value to an object/shape, as the cell value changes so does the display on the object automatically.
I want the same results on a userform.
As i want this for display purpose only can i use the label caption for the above question?
I'm trying to make a command button copy the text from a text box on a multipage control to the active cell in the sheet. I have been able to make it paste the text once it is manually selected and copied to the clipboard but that is all. I've tried recording a macro but that doesn't seem to work in the userform. I need it to copy the text from the active multipage tab (from a textbox) and paste into the sheet's active cell.
Is there a way to program a VBA button so that its cell location is known. For ex., I have a button that says "Fail". I'd like to program it in such a way that when the user clicks on it, the text "Fail" is inserted into the cell next to it. How do I avoid hard-coding the cell reference?

The text should be placed in the next available cell starting in cell b3 for combobox1 and starting in cell c3 for combobox2. Each time submit is clicked the name and number associated with that name should go in the next free cell in the spreadsheet.
So for example the user choses name1 and number6 cell b3 would read name1 and cell c3 would read number6 after submit is clicked. The user then choses name58 and number12 and presses submit again cell b4 would read name58 and cell c4 would read number12.
I have created an ActiveX command button and the text on the button looks crude. I know that is not very descriptive but I am unsure how to describe it. The text looks jagged and some letters are missing chunks of their letters. The font I have chosen is Calibri.
If I create a Form Controls button I do not have this problem but I want the button to have a particular background color so I do not believe I can use a Form Controls button.
I do not know why the other Calibri text on the worksheet looks fine while the ActiveX Calibri text does not. The attached image shows the two buttons with the top one being the ActiveX button while the bottom is a Forms button.
how to put together a macro for a command button that deletes rows with certain text in a docyment - which worked fine a week or so ago - but now the macro will not work.
I made changes to the document - but made sure i also made changes to the code.
I need a macro for button1. The name of button one is "on" when clicked I want it to put an "X" in A1 and then change the button name to "off" When clicked again I want it to delete the "X" in A1 and change the name back to "on". When clicked again it repeats the same process.

These macros change the label fine after hiding or unhding the rows but I can't find the proper terms to use to change the macro associated with the button (if there is one?)

The name of each button is:

The idea is for each rating to output its assigned number such that if the user were to click "Rating 1", the result would be "1", "Rating 2" = 2 and so on. I'm trying to design a survey and these results will then be used to calculate an average rating. If this is possible, how would I need to write the code for it?
I've got a problem with the used spinbuttons. The code I used (see below)allows the user to choose a column (with the option button(A,B,C,D,E) in which changes would be made and than changes the value of the given cell according to the name of the spinbutton (which specifies the row). This forces me to use about 80 spinbuttons in a single sheet, and the whole workbook comprises of over 30 sheets pumping the whole file to a size of over 3 MB. To reduce the file size I need a code that would link a master spinbutton (one per sheet) to any active cell (the "just clicked one")

I have sheet1 having two formulas. Ideally I can copy and paste the formula to the entire column, However this then populates , say 3000 cells unnecessarily which slows down excel performance or increases size of the file.
