Is it possible to have a user form command button perform link or steps that are recorded with macro recorder? I am trying to reformat cut and paste a xls raw data file. I am trying to keep my file uploads to a min., but can upload an example if necessary.

I'm trying to pull up a second form from a command button within a form. There's a command button in a sheet to open the first form (frmOrderInput.) Then there's another command button in that form to open the second form (frmPriceInput.)
The Module to open the first is this:
i have attached my sample spreadsheet that i need to have a code to link to specific cells value.
whenever i click on the command button on beside Activation 1 it will go to Activation 1 sheet/tab.
I was thinking of how the Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) macro can be used to paste values instead of formula when the user uses Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V. Instead of assigning a macro to a command button for user to activate.
Suppose I have a worksheet where the range ("D7:D56") is where I would want the user to paste his values in it.
I have to factor in the possibility that these values have formulas attached to them, and that the user is not tech-savvy enough to know about the "paste special --> values" functionality of excel, and chooses to use the Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V method instead.
What then appears are ####### which might alarm the user.
Neither would we want the user to press a button (which we can assign the xlpastevalues macro as an alternative) as that adds an extra step for the user. There is also a chance the user might not use the button, or overlooked it.

I want to be able to have a link that uses cell data as the passed function parameter!
I want to do this so I can simply copy the formula down for new rows and not have to create a command button for each row?
Maybe there is an entirely much easier way to do what I want?
FOR EXAMPLE, the 1st column would be a link to an entry form passing the 2nd column which would be an ID field.
I am trying to create a sheet with 'buttons' on, a bit like a 'linked table of contents', that will take the user to individual sheets (as opposed to clicking on the sheet tabs). I can see how to place Command buttons on a sheet (in this case Sheet1), but I think I need help with the code to make the buttons function as I envisage. Is this in the scope of help via this forum?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWe just upgraded to Excel 2007 from Excel 2000 and have run into a challenge relating to labeling a form command button. It appears that the length of text for a command button label has been shortened to 31 characters when setting the name using VBA. No such limitation shows up when I manually create such a button.
Following is the code that used to work to create the button and label in VBA (Excel 2000):

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a uniform stock database for my company. Thus far, I have 2 worksheets. The first is a face sheet, for the user to interact with. This face sheet has a number of drop down menus on it allowing them to select "Type" and "Size" of the item they need. This information is then translated (by a hidden table) into an item code.
The second sheet contains a list of all the uniform items currently in stock. Each item has its individual code that correlates to the code the face sheet generates.
My question is regarding a search macro.
I want the user to be able to click a command button on the face sheet, labelled "search". This would then take the generated "Item Code" and search for it on the second worksheet. I am aware that it would be very easy for them to simply copy the code into "find" on the second sheet, however it needs to be as easy and quick to use as possible.
I want to launch userform A when the user hits the command button on userform B, I already have a macro set up to launch UserForm A and tried adding it to the code but it doesn't work.
