What I want to do is in column 5 row 1, I want it to show a value only if all 4 columns, row 1 are filled in. For example in the picture I want to show a blank in the first 8 rows but to start showing a value on the rest of the rows, in this example IPE 240 to be the first value. When it shows this value from this row I want it to obtain the value with the highest percentege inside. For example in this picture the correct value first value to be shown in column 5 will be IPE (84%)
Ive done this code so far: =IF(AND(B256<>"",D256<>"",F256<>"",H256<>""),Here I want it to show the value on the row that has the highest percentege,"")
Find Lowest Value In A Range Of Letters
Apr 30, 2007I am looking for a formula that will return the lowest value from a five cell range using letters instead of numbers. If the 5 cell range is empty the cell will remain blank. Not all the 5 cells may be used - it could be anywhere from 1 to all cells.The weightings of the letters in terms of their numerical value are as follows:
F=0
P=1
M=2
D=3
Examples of desired results:
From A1 to A5 the following letters are inputted: P M M D P. Result in A6 = P as P is the lowest numerically in the above list. B1 to B3 = D D M. Result in B4 = M. C1 = F. Result in C2 = F. All cells blank from D1 to D5 = cell in D6 remains blank.
Nth Lowest Number In Non-Contiguous Range
Aug 10, 2007I want to use the Small function on a set of cells that are non-contiguous. But I know that the Small function only works on an array, which cannot contain cell references. Copying the cells to a contiguous range is not an option, as some of the cells I want referenced are generated on the fly in a Sumproduct function. Is there some alternative I could use? I can use the Min function to get the lowest value, as it allows for references, and the Max function to get the greatest, but what about those in between?

As I said the cell range will be in the same column. So highlight the highest number green and lowest number red in cells a3 to a9 and then repeat the same process again in cells a11 to a17 and so on.the cell references are an example.

Jul 18, 2006I'd like to have a list printed of all the "qualifying people" found in a range, and then sort their corresponding price values from highest to lowest in Columns A and B. EXAMPLE:
RANGE: D3:D20 - Numerical
RANGE: E3:E20 - Text (names)
RANGE: F3:F20 - $$$
I'd like to search column D for any values of 2 or higher. When it finds a 2 or higher, I want it to find the corresponding name in the SAME ROW in column E, and of course the corresponding price in the SAME ROW in column F. Then I would like only those qualifying people "with value of 2 or higher" to be listed in order from highest price to lowest price in Column A, and B.

Capturing Lowest Value Recorded In Data That Changes?
Jan 3, 2012I run a golf handicapping system that utilises excel quite heavily to record a LOT data over the course of a season. In essence we have in excess of 50 players who play once or twice a week and I record their Stableford scores (dont worry that's a golfing phrase but it is basically how they performed that day) and adjust their golf handicap accordingly - all in XL.
So - a player may start the season with handicap of 20 but over the season this will vary up and down as each score is recorded. A player may well play in excess of 50 rounds in a season.
I currently record the player's starting handicap in one column and in the next column appears the freshly calculated new handicap after a new score has been entered. The column containing the new handicap overwrites the old handicap value each time it is recalculated.
All I want to do is to create a 3rd column that records the lowest handicap value attained during the season. So for each player I guess it should take the newly calculated handicap and decide if it is lowest it has 'seen' in that column and if it is record it.

I used the index and the match function. And i was able to do that, but the problem is there are items that have the same rank. how do i consolidate the data from highest to lowest even if with same ranks?

Apr 16, 2007I have a long list with names of banks. I also have three different numbers (between 1 and 10) for every bank. Eg Bank A 5 7 4, Bank B 5 9 3. Sometimes there are not three numbers for a bank but only one or two. There are never more than three numbers though. I want to have a forth column. This column shall give me a new number based on the other numbers. The sorting shall work like this. If a bank only has one number then that number shall be presented in the forth coulmn. If there are two numbers then the lowest one shall be used. If there are three numbers then the two highest numbers shall be chosen and if they are different the lowest one of the two highest shall be presented in the forth coumn. I do not know if you can do this using normal worksheet function of if a user defined function is necessary.

Calculate Difference To Lowest
May 9, 2009I'm looking for a macro or formula that can calculate the difference to the lowest of col C based on option in colB. See attached. I complete what it should look like in F. Basically, this can be done by sorting the data by colB and using this formual for every group. =C2-MIN($C$2:$C$4). This is not ideal because I have many of these to do and you have to adjust the min range for every group. Plus group sizes will vary.
There has to be a better way. Ideally, I would not like to have to sort the data, unless a macro did it for me....

Feb 17, 2010Needed for a golf league where the average of the best three of five games is needed - so, low score is better but score must be greater than zero. Each row is a player, column A is the players name, B-F 5 different games and the average will be in column G. I tried this formula but if someone didn't play at least 3 games SMALL returns the #NUM! error value. If I enter 0 for games not played then SMALL picks up the 0 as the lowest score. =(SMALL(B3:F3,1)+SMALL(B3:F3,2)+SMALL(B3:F3,3))/3. How to nest the different functions (if>0, small, and avg would be good too)
