Macro Code For Save And Go To Next Sheet?
Feb 5, 2013I need a macro code with which I save my excel file and go to next sheet.

View 2 RepliesI want is a Macro that will save the file as .csv, with the same filename and location as the original (just in csv format). A hotkey would be quite handy for this. I tried using the macro recorder and fiddled around with the code a bit but my programming knowledge is quite limited and I ended up with something that doesn't quite work as i'd like. I'm sure this would only take a few seconds to code for an experienced user, which is why I post here. I would post my attempt at doing it myself but i'm on a computer that doesn't have excel at the moment.

I need a macro that will save the range of cells with values as a pdf and saved as the sheet name. I have a macro that does a print preview function based on the cells that contain values. It works great, but instead I just need this to be saved as a pdf.
This is what I have:
[Code] .....
I have a form button I am currently using to save the workbook. However due to the workbook being so large is taking a little longer than I want to save. Is there a way to change the macro to save the current sheet only?
Sub Save()
'
'
'
ActiveWorkbook.Save
End Sub
I've been searching for code that will perform the following:
1. Save the current workbook then,
2. Save the current sheet as a tab delimited file to the desktop with the same name as the current workbook then,
3. Return to .xlsx file format
The file saved to the desktop can be overwritten each time the macro is run.
I need to save a single sheet to a file (in a workbook of many sheets). I can't use the copy command and then save the new workbook because it truncates the longer info in some cells.
Working with a macro enabled workbook that has many sheets what would be a good code that would save Sheet1 into a new MACRO enabled workbook so that the 'Buttons' (which are linked to macros) on this specific sheet will be the only macros that will be copied to the new workbook as opposed to the rest of the macros that are found in different sheets?
Here is what I g=have:
[Code] ......
I am trying to sort a macro out to save my sheet the same as the original when the button is clicked. When i try it from one location it is fine but from another location i get a print error, the error says prit quality is not right, when i debug it highlights: Print Quality = 600 I have tried changing it but keep getting the same error. Their maybe an easier way to do this but not being very good on VB i dont know what to do. This file is on a server and will be accessed from different locations.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm fairly new to macros but somehow i managed to create all the required macros for my project through googling and the like. The problem is that i created my macro enabled excel file in XP and when i transferred it to Windows 7 the auto save to PDF macro stopped working with the Runtime Error '5' Invalid Procedure, call or Argument. The highlighted error is as follows.
ActiveSheet.ExportAsFixedFormat _
Type:=xlTypePDF, _
FileName:="C:WindowsTemp emporaryexam.pdf", _
Quality:=xlQualityStandard, _
IncludeDocProperties:=True, _
IgnorePrintAreas:=False, _
OpenAfterPublish:=True
This auto save is supposed to work when a hyperlink is clicked or when the set time runs out (Working Macro).
I have a excel sheet which is completely formula driven and no macros in that.
I want to macro which can save that excel sheet to a specific location.
Each of the worksheets in my model use A1 as a control cell for any errors and inconsistencies. My aim is to disable save and close commands in case A1 is not equal to 0 in any of the worksheets.
The code I currently use for that purpose is as follows.
I'm trying to find a way to save a single sheet of an excel workbook and in the same process delete all vba code and shapes from the new single sheet workbook. I was looking around and found this code which does save only the single sheet to a new one sheet workbook but doesn't delete the vba and shape that I have used to assign macros to in the original.
Code:
Sub SaveSheetAsNewBook()
Dim wb As Workbook
Dim InitFileName As String
Dim fileSaveName As String
Dim wshape As Shape
InitFileName = ThisWorkbook.Path & Format(Date, "mm.dd.yy")
[code]....

I am making a spreadsheet that sorts and pastes, but I need to know if I can add a code to the Sort and Paste Macro that will open the second spread sheet needed without just already having it open and using the
Windows("estimate sheet one.xls").Activate
My company has files that are already in use. I don't know too many details about how they work, but somehow saving the file will screw it up and my boss has to go back and reset something or other to correct it. Obviously it's connected to some other software somewhere. The code below will block Save and Save-As. BUT how do I get the file to hold onto the code without actually saving the file after the code is added (since the file shouldn't be saved)?
VB:
Private Sub Workbook_BeforeSave(ByVal SaveAsUI As Boolean, Cancel As Boolean)
If SaveAsUI = False Then
Cancel = True
[Code].....
Why does the "else" section of this code cause an error when part of a sheet code but runs fine in a macro?
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
If Intersect(Target, Range("B3")) Is Nothing Then
Exit Sub
Else
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
Sheets("Current").Select
Cells.Select
Selection.ClearContents
Target2 = Range("Analysis!A1")
Sheets(Target2).Select
Cells.Select
Selection.Copy
Sheets("Current").Select
Cells.Select
Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValues, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks _
:=False, Transpose:=False
Application.ScreenUpdating = True
End If
End Sub
I have code in the NewSheet event of ThisWorkbook which tracks new sheets being added. But when a worksheet is added by copying an existing worksheet this event doesn't seem to be triggered. Buy logically a new sheet has been added to the workbook so the event should be triggered. Is this a design flaw or am I missing something?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to insert 50 tabs (at different points in time during a macro) that each has a state abbreviation. I know how to get the macro to add a tab, but to name it, it wants to select " Sheet 4". The problem with this is, the tab that was created might be sheet 15 or sheet 1, and I need it to be able to name the tab no matter what sheet # it is.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a huge data which needs to be divided and distributed to team members. What i want to achieve is to split, thru macro/VB, the entries in my main file into several files, say by 50s. I attached files for reference. Whereas, the Dummy.xls is the main file and Book1 & Book2 are the desired output.

View 9 Replies View Relatedhow I can write code to create a button on a worksheets and then link to another subprocedure.
I tried recording a macro and this is what excel so eloquently gave me:
ActiveSheet.Buttons.Add(384.75, 60.75, 79.5, 39.75).Select
Selection.OnAction = "CreateImport"
ActiveSheet.Shapes("Button 1").Select
Selection.Characters.Text = "Parse Deposits for Import"
With Selection.Characters(Start:=1, Length:=25).Font
. Name = "Arial"
.FontStyle = "Regular"
.Size = 10
.Strikethrough = False
.Superscript = False
.Subscript = False
.OutlineFont = False
.Shadow = False
.Underline = xlUnderlineStyleNone
.ColorIndex = xlAutomatic
.TintAndShade = 0
.ThemeFont = xlThemeFontNone
End With
This works fine, my only problem is if the button that is created is actually named Button2 or 3, etc. Is there a way to assign the new button to a variable, or would it be an object? this way it wouldn't matter what it was named.
I have a front sheet with a list of all the sheets in the workbook in column A.
In column B I need to use the counta function to count the number of entries in the corresponding sheet to column A.
As there are 70 sheets I'd thought I'd use a Macro but I'm having great difficulties. I've done a search but can't find what I'm looking for.
So heres part of my code (it uses loops etc which I've managed but this just errors)
cell.Offset(0, 1).FormulaR1C1 = "=counta(" & str2&" C[-1])-1"
The str2 is the string name to reference the sheet in the formula (for example sheet1), I can't figure out how to enter this into the code so it works and is accepted.
I am trying to design a tool which dynamically results in different cells depending on users inputs. Yet, I am willing to protect most of the cells to avoid any user involuntarily (or voluntarily!) modifying the formulas/contents of the calculated (and locked) cells. Is there any way to protect my sheets, allowing only a certain macro to modify the locked and protected cells?
View 4 Replies View Relatedhow to use VBA to write a formula in one sheet that refers to a fixed cell on the sheet to the right. The referenced sheet may have different names and it may be in a different order (i.e. not Sheet(2)) but it will always be one sheet to the right. I just want to have cell A1=(cell B2 one sheet to the right).
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to make a macro check if a file has been saved (ever). If so I want the macro to do a regular save (with already esatablished filename and location) before it proceeds with the rest of the macro. If the file hasnt been saved (if it runs from a new workbook) then I want it to pop up the save.as dialog, so that the user can choose the name and location of the file before the macro continues .
The macro itself is saved in personal.xlsx.
I'm trying to have a macro that opens the save as window, places the name in cell f5 and then allows you to save the workbook with cell f5 as the filename. I have managed to get the save as window to come up and the cell f5 as the name, but when I press save is doesn't. Here is what I have (also, is there a way to direct this to a specific folder).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI need a macro code to add and rename sheets as per data given in column "A".

4 new sheets to be created with name given above (Column A). PS:- the data given in column A will not be limited to 4 rows, it ll be > or < 4.
how to unprotect the sheets in order to be able copying datas to to certain cells.
The unprotection works but only when I start the macro the second time. I do not understand why.
After I did the updates I want to reprotect the sheets but that seems not to work in my case.
ActiveSheet.Unprotect Password:="my_password_here"
'unprotect the sheet
ActiveSheet.Protect DrawingObjects:=True, _
