I attached files for reference. Whereas, the Dummy.xls is the main file and Book1 & Book2 are the desired output.

Split Up Huge Macro Using Call Macro But Pivot Table Code Errors Out?

Jul 10, 2012

I'm using a CALL Macro to split up a HUGE macro into different pieces:

Code:
Sub RSLDASHBOARDV2()
'Macro recorded 12/14/2010 by Ryan R. Koleno, Pharm.D.
'Last Updated 7/10/12 by Ryan R. Koleno, Pharm.D.
'Do Not Modify Code Unless Given Proper Privileges to do so.
Dim APPSPD As Worksheet
With Application
.ScreenUpdating = False
.Calculation = xlCalculationManual

[code]...

The first few macros dealing with page setup and what not work fine but when it hits the Pivot table code for the STATSPIVOT macro it errors out stating: "Run-time error '1004': Unable to get the PivotItems property of PivotField class' at this point in the code:

Code:
objField2.PivotItems( _
"TRC").Position = 1
objField.PivotItems( _
"MEDCO MAIL OR AOB").Position = 2

When this macro is not split up it worked fine as written. Am I overlooking something in the Call Macro's code or is there a variable I'm not aware of. I have included the Pivot Table code that errors out as well.

Code:
Sub STATSPIVOT()
'STATS PAGE BASED ON STATS DATA TAB
Sheets("STATS DATA").Select
Dim objTable As PivotTable, objField As PivotField
ActiveWorkbook.Sheets("STATS DATA").Select
Range("A1").Select

[code]...

Code To Take Averages From Multiple Files With File / Sheet Name?

I have somewhat of a method for doing this where I separate it into several steps and grab bits of code for each step (there's descriptions on the code). How I can improve or streamline it?

Code:

I have attached a small sample of the file that needs to be split. Since there are three managers in this file there should be three workbooks created.

Macro For Protecting Sheet (with Same Name) On Multiple Files At Once?

Jul 19, 2014

I have a macro that duplicates a excel file into how ever many files I need... so If I need 150 copies of the the file, it will make it 150 times.

However, each file the first tab called "Clients" has information that I want protected so users can't alter it. I can't protect it before I run the duplication because the data is added by a group of people and I need it unprotected until they add the information.

What I am looking for is a macro that I can click and run, allows me to select multiple files, then it will automatically Protect Sheet 1 "Clients" on all the files I select so I don't have to open all 150 files after data is entered and Protect sheet 1 manually.

Macro To Add New Sheet To Many Excel Files From A Master File?

I have many folders (around 500) - each of them contains a excel file (the excel files have all the same name), ideally I would like to be able to run a macro from a master excel file that would allow me to add a sheet which I would create in the master excel file and add it to all of the excel files that are in the folders. So far I have used the code from the link: [URL]

VB:
Sub CopyWorkbook()
Dim sh As Worksheet, wb As workbook
Set wb = workbooks("1.xlsx")

[Code].....

but when I change it from 2.xlsx to 1.xslx in the code it works just fine, copying the sheets from the file to itself.

Macro To Load All Files Within A Folder To New Tabs With File Name As Sheet Name

Nov 26, 2009

I wish for a macro to look in to a directory which remains constant, but then looks within a folder which is specified via a cell value in order to load a specific sheet from each file in to the workbook I am currently using. I wish for the loading to be done without having to open the workbooks manually, so something which opens them copies the data from the sheet specified and then closes.

This data is then to be pasted in to a new sheets within my workbook which are named after the file names that it pulls the "dump" sheet from.

As a side note, I will be using these sheets to produce calculations hopefully automatically as soon as they are loaded. They all have the same "shape" but contain differing data. Will it be easier in the long run for me to use this method of pasting data to new sheets named as their file names assuming there will be around 25 "dump" sheets needing to be loaded or would i be better having them paste all to one sheet just underneath each other with a couple of rows separating them?

Create Subfiles From Master File Using Key To Split Workbooks To Separate Files

Jun 13, 2013

I am trying to make my macro more dynamic for a spreadsheet I am working on. I have this code which splits out worksheets (using the specific names of the worksheets-not dynamic) from a main workbook into template workbooks (which are basically just an empty workbook because I didn't know how else to do it) and then saves them using the paths below. I would like to make this more dynamic by splitting the different worksheets into new workbooks based on a key column in the hierarchy worksheet.

Basically I have a list of accounts in column B with the file name they should be exported to in column A. There are about 30 accounts being split into 6 different region files. Also note that the same account might be listed multiple times in column A (needed to add multiple numbers for other lookup formulas in the worksheets) but that account worksheet will still only be going to one of the six region files and not to multiple regions. After these are copied to an individual file I would like to save it to a location on my computer. All files will go to this location.

VB:
Sub Create_Subfiles()

Dim FDMName As String
Dim FBName As String
Dim DIYName As String
Dim WMName As String

[Code] .....

Add Button To Sheet & Assign Macro Code

Apr 2, 2008

how I can write code to create a button on a worksheets and then link to another subprocedure.

I tried recording a macro and this is what excel so eloquently gave me:

ActiveSheet.Buttons.Add(384.75, 60.75, 79.5, 39.75).Select
Selection.OnAction = "CreateImport"
ActiveSheet.Shapes("Button 1").Select
Selection.Characters.Text = "Parse Deposits for Import"
With Selection.Characters(Start:=1, Length:=25).Font
. Name = "Arial"
.FontStyle = "Regular"
.Size = 10
.Strikethrough = False
.Superscript = False
.Subscript = False
.OutlineFont = False
.Shadow = False
.Underline = xlUnderlineStyleNone
.ColorIndex = xlAutomatic
.TintAndShade = 0
.ThemeFont = xlThemeFontNone
End With

This works fine, my only problem is if the button that is created is actually named Button2 or 3, etc. Is there a way to assign the new button to a variable, or would it be an object? this way it wouldn't matter what it was named.

Add Formula Via Macro Code With Variable As Sheet Name

May 14, 2008

I have a front sheet with a list of all the sheets in the workbook in column A.
In column B I need to use the counta function to count the number of entries in the corresponding sheet to column A.

As there are 70 sheets I'd thought I'd use a Macro but I'm having great difficulties. I've done a search but can't find what I'm looking for.

So heres part of my code (it uses loops etc which I've managed but this just errors)

cell.Offset(0, 1).FormulaR1C1 = "=counta(" & str2&" C[-1])-1"

The str2 is the string name to reference the sheet in the formula (for example sheet1), I can't figure out how to enter this into the code so it works and is accepted.
