Macro To Delete Row If Cell Value Appears In Specified Range

Feb 20, 2008

I am trying to create a macro that would be able to delete an entire row of data if a value in column A is equal to a range on a different sheet.

On Sheet “ISQ Raw Data”

If any value in column A (starting in row 2) is equal to a value on Sheet “Old Response IDs” Range A:A(all of column A)

Then Delete that entire row in Sheet “ISQ Raw Data”

Macro To Delete An Entire Row If A Duplicate Entry Appears Only In A Certain Column.

Feb 20, 2009

Is there a macro to delete an entire row if a duplicate entry appears only in a certain column.

1. Look for the column header with the name "File Number"
2. Anytime the same number under the "File Number" column appears more than once in that column, keep the row that contains first occurrence of that number buy delete the entire row anytime that number is repeated in another row in that same column.

This is regardless of what is contained in the other columns. For example..let's say these cells contained this data...

B1 - UTE00225
B2 - UTE00546
B3 - UTE65513
B4 - UTE00225
B5 - UTE00225

In this case, I would want to keep rows 1, 2, and 3. But, I would want to delete rows 4 & 5 because the number "UTE00225" has already appeared first in B1. I'm using Excel 2003.

Excel 2013 :: Formula To Auto Delete Number In Dropdown List When Number Appears In Another Cell

Apr 27, 2014

I'm making a Excel 2013 spreadsheet that has formula in a column that auto enters a number 1-40 when something is entered to the left of that cell. There are 300 rows in the spreadsheet. I would like to make a drop down list in a column cell to the right that would delete that number in that cell from the drop down list. For example cell C1 has 39, that 39 then is deleted from the drop down list. C2 has 22 in it, click on the drop down list cell and it shows 1-40 less 39 and 22.

Macro To Put Value In Cell If Word Or Letter Appears In Another Cell?

Mar 7, 2011

I have to loop through a range in A, and if the letter "C" or the number "9" appears in the cell anywhere (it won't be a whole cell value) then I need column B to show "C".

I know how to do a whole value loop, but I'm stumped on a 'find X anywhere' search.

Delete Rows :: Where Specific Word Appears

Jul 22, 2008

I have a spreadsheet that I need VBA Code to do the following

1) Delete all rows where the word totals appears in Column B for eg "Totals for Vehicles Stocked in 0706" "Totals for Vehicles Stocked in 0707" etc

2) Delete all rows where the value in col m is less than 45

I have written the code, but cannot get it to work-see my code below

Sub Del_TOTALS_Underaged()
FinalRow = Cells(65536, 2).End(xlUp).Row
For i = FinalRow To 1 Step -1
If Cells(i, 2).Value >= "Totals" Then
Cells(i, 1).EntireRow.Delete
If Cells(i, 13).Value < "45" Then
Cells(i, 1).EntireRow.Delete
End If
End If
Next i

End Sub

Macro Disable/enable Still Appears After Macro Deleted From Workbook

Oct 3, 2006

I have a question concerning Macros and the Disable/Enable prompt. My boss has a spreadsheet which has been used for years and he recently wanted to and did remove the macros from the spreadsheet (they were no longer necessary), but the disable/enable prompt still appears when the spreadsheet is opened. I replicated this in a test spreadsheet with a simple insert line macro and received the same results. Is there a way to remove the macros and the disable/enable prompt once they are removed? I know about setting the security to low to not see the prompt, but I would think that once the macros are deleted, the prompt should not appear any more.

Count If Value Appears In A Range Of Cells

Apr 23, 2014

I have a gradebook that contains 3 assignments. For each assignment, a student could choose between one of three options (A, B, or C). Some students completed multiple option.

1A
1B
1C
2A
2B
2C

John
6
3
2
4
6

Mary
2
2
3

Sue
4

I need to count how many assignments were done, not how many options they completed. So in the example above:

John complete 2 assignments.
Mary completed 2 assignments.
Sue completed 1 assignment.

What is the correct formula that will look at a range of cells, and if a student completed at least one option, return a count of 1?

Macro To Delete Rows With A Range For Values

Delete All Range Names Macro Code

May 13, 2008

I have written VBA code which is operated every month. This code deletes several range names in a target spreadsheet, performs other actions - including extracting certain areas to different spreadsheets and then closes the spreadsheet without saving.

The range names in the target spreadsheet are required for ongoing use, so can not be deleted permanently.

Is there any code that deletes all range names in one go? At present my code includes the results of recording a macro wherein I delete each range name in turn - creating script over 100 lines long.

Find Range And Delete Duplicate Value In Specified Column With VB Macro

Apr 21, 2009

See attached doc "Find and Delete.xlsx". Inside, the value in F12 is a very important cell. Using the text value from F12, I first want to use visual basic code to find the range in column B because it will vary. This means the 'text words' column might have 50 words or it might have 2000. I have racked my brain trying to find a universal way to find a variable range.

Then I would like to search for the exact text value within this range in column
B. For example, in F12 is the text word 'windows xp registry cleaner' and you can see that this value is in B9. There will only be one exact match in column B.

I then would like the vb script to delete and remove this found value, then move left one space in column A to also delete the ID number associated with the text word. Then shift both rows up to fill the empty gap. I have tried numerous different codes but to be honest, I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. I've tinkered with find and replace, vlookup, match, find, search, and many more.

VBA - Delete Column If Cell Value Of Range Is Equal To Another Cell

Nov 5, 2013

I would like to create a VBA code where it will delete the entire column if the cell value is equal to value in D2

For example:

For Each cell In rng
If (cell.Value) = D2 _

Else: Set del = Union(del, cell)
End If
End If
Next cell
On Error Resume Next
del.EntireColumn.Delete
End Sub

VBA To Delete 4 Row Range Based On One Cell Value

Oct 21, 2013

I have a spreadsheet broken out into about 30 4-row ranges, for example (A10:L13). All of the ranges use a using a vlookup argument:

=IFERROR(VLOOKUP($A10,Fund_Range,2,FALSE),"") in the second row.

Around 15 of the ranges will be populated based on varying data in the fund_range data table, the remainder will be blank. The first row of each range is a header row, I would like the macro to delete the range when there is no value in the second row (the blank ranges). Every attempt I have made starting with other code from the forum has come up empty. I think part of my problem is the vlookup formula existing in these otherwise "blank" rows.
