View 4 RepliesI would like to implement specific cell ranges from two specific worksheets each within 33 workbooks (which all have several tabs) into a summary page in a separate workbook.
The cell ranges are going across my spreadsheet in rows and I would like for them to transpose into a columns depending on the data which I have separated by catergory on the summary page. They are all on the same location in each workbook which is separated by country. The cell ranges are E26:P37 and I would like to transpose them and have them put below eachother without overwriting for my format on the summary page, how I can put this together in a macro?
I have a workbook that has 2 worksheets. Sheet1 has a data table that is filled from an SQL database. I would like the first column of the data table to have each cell be a hyperlink. The destination of the hyperlink is Sheet2, cell A2. I would like to modify the hyperlink, so that when the user clicks on the hyperlink, the text-display of the hyperlink is copied into sheet2 cell A2. Initially, I thought this was simple. I added the event code shown below:
[Code] ........
This worked, however there was a problem. I manually added the hyperlink to all cells in column1 of sheet1. However, this made the TextToDisplay property the value of the first cell for all hyperlinks. So, solution to add hyperlinks to all cells in the first column, with TextToDisplay property set for each individual cell. What is the best way to do this with the fact that the number of rows in column1 will vary as the size of the SQL query changes?
I would like to have a macro, to copy the cells and paste it 6 times in a column. below are the format required.
Column A
Input
abc
ert
uty
Column B
Output
abc
ert
uty
abc
ert
uty
[Code] ......
Excel 2007, Windows XP Pro
Dim strLoan As String
Dim longCat As Long
Dim rHere As Range
Range("A1").Select
[Code] .....
I can see the cursor move to all the desired cells when this macro executes; it just isn't dropping any data where it should be. I have been working at this stage for the last five hours with no success. I don't know whether my copy-paste methodology is broken or if it is my selection criteria
I'm using Excel 2013 on Windows 7.
I have an Excel file which has a macro that sucks in data from a number of separate files (two Excel, a varying number of csv). The macro grabs all the individual files and loads them into one of three worksheets with some formatting, sorting, and structuring on the way. All good so far.
I then need to take two of the worksheets and copy them to a new Workbook which I can send out to some users. So I use the Workbooks.Add method, and use the Selection.Copy on just the data (UsedRange.Rows/Columns.Count to ensure it is only the data) and Selection.PasteSpecial with the xlPasteColumnWidths, xlPasteValues, and xlPasteFormats options to copy the data over. None of the data is filtered. Just straight data.
I would expect the newly added workbook to be smaller than the one with the macros because the one with the macros has two extra sheets that I don't transfer, and the sheets I do transfer are identical.
And that's where it gets weird. The file with the macros and more data is 18.7Mb, but the new one with only two sheets is 24.8Mb. One is .xlsm and the other is .xlsx (because it has no macros).
I've tried opening the new workbook and saving as .xlsm (no material difference to the size) and as .xls (it got even bigger). I've opened the new workbook, gone to the end of the data and deleted all the blank rows and columns, but no effect (because the rows are already empty).
Why would the file with less in it be so much bigger (or bigger at all)?
I have a folder containing 40 single sheet excel workbooks and I would like to automate following tasks:
- Open each excel file (need to open the file so as to update it since it gets the data from another workbook through =formulas)
- Copy paste as values
- Save this as excel html in the same folder as original excel files (keeping the original file name)
- Close (original excel file should not be changed ie formulas should remain in place, only the html file will contain values)
- Since there will always be xHtml files with same name need the macro to replace the excisting file
My abilities with excel are limited to functions, no VBA knowledge other than finding ready codes and pasting them in the module.
Since this routine is to be run almost daily the macro should run all files, instead of one by one.
I just hope that I am not asking too much for excel to handle and I hope that explanation is clear.
Copy over data from different workbooks and using paste special values to paste it into a new workbook using a macro. Here is what I have and what I am looking for:
My file path is
C:Documents and SettingsMy DocumentsProjectCostsDecember12
In this folder I have workbooks called:
Function1
Function2
Function3
In each workbook I have 4 worksheets
Cashable12-13
NonCashable12-13
Total12-13
GrandTotal12-13
I also have a workbook called DecMonthlyTotal in the same folder with the same named worksheets.
I am looking for a macro to be placed in the DecMonthlyTotal that will pull the data from the Cashable12-13 worksheets from Function1, Function2 and Function3 and paste special the values into workbook DecMonthlyTotal, worksheet name Cashable12-13, it will also pull the data from the NonCashable12-13 worksheets from Function1, Function2 and Function3 and paste special the values into workbook DecMonthlyTotal, worksheet name NonCashable12-13
Both the Cashable12-13 and the NonCashable12-13 have Columns A - G The row that the macro should start the copying from is Row 3 for each of the workbooks; however I don't have an end row for the workbooks as this will vary.
I am using Excel version 2003.
I have a form that adds and edits data on a sheet. I would like the user to be able to select any row of that data and then a macro copies the data from column A for example (ID1234). Launch my form (FmAddTask) and then paste it into the combocbox (idlookup).
Hence enabling immediate editing of that row of data via the form.
I made a start:
I need to make several exact duplicates of an existing worksheet which includes several form controls. Basic Copy/ Paste the worksheet works well but row heights are different and hidden rows are unhidden. Is there a way to make an EXACT duplicate ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an Excel worksheet with potentially 1000+ rows of data.
Create a way where I select something (a macro button ?) for that individual row of Worksheet1 -- and it takes selected cell data from that row and inserts it into specified cells in another worksheet (Worksheet2) within that same workbook.
Also, this Excel data (of Worksheet1) will be sorted every week - so the ?macro button? that is used needs to follow the same row when a sort is performed.
I can do this by creating a macro button, but would have to create an individual macro button for every individual row of data. (That's 1000+ macro buttons to create !?!)
Is there better way of doing this with a macro button OR is there a completely different/better way to accomplish the same thing ?
I have one workbook that needs two macros.
On the "Complete Backlog" tab of my workbook, I want users to enter in the requested information based on the column header. Then I would like a Macro attached to a button that says "Refresh" that the user would click after they have entered in all of the information. This macro should look in Column M (WIP Status) and if any of the cells say "Close", it should Cut the entire row from the spreadsheet(Ex. A2:M2) and Paste it into the speadsheet titled "Closed Jobs".
This is so that as jobs are closed/finished, they are removed and stored on a separate sheet. The items would have to be pasted so that it pastes into the next available row - not just on top of each other.
I also need another macro that i can put into a button that doesn't "delete" a row from the sheet, but just copies over to another sheet - so that there are two instances in the workbook.
If would look something like: If a cell in "Column G / Director" of the "Complete Backlog" speadsheet is equal to "Snodgress" then copy columns A-L of the same row to the spreadsheet titled "Snodgress" - of course skipping down the rows to the next blank row.
.....is equal to "Herr" copy row to "Herr" spreadsheet.
....is equal to "McCormick" copy row to "McCormick" spreadsheet.
and so on.
i have created a form in excel sheet1 (not a VBA form) and there are 10 cells with headings in the form which need to fill the data but i want to copy certain cells (suppose 6 different cells) from my form which is in sheet1 and paste to another sheet2 to certain columns horizontally.

E.g. if column a value = apple then copy that row into the apple sheet.
I'm trying to create a very simple order form. It's been a while since I've done this in Excel, and I couldn't find an answer when I searched. (I may be a lousy searcher, though.)
I want the user to enter a quantity in Column E of the "Common Items" worksheet, and have all the rows with quantities copied to the "Order" worksheet. (On the "Order" copy below, I just did a copy/paste to show the desired effect.)
Excel 2007
A
B
C
D
E
F
1
Item Number
Description
Unit
Price
Qty
Total
2
BX-2B1324X
0.9% NaCL 1000ml Bags
CS
$23.52
5
$117.60
[Code] ....
I'm pretty sure this can be accomplished with an If/Then, but I'm lost! Optimally, they'd enter their quantities, click on the Order sheet and hit print.
I have a sheet with 500 rows and 20 columns. I want to put an input box and a button on a different sheet. What I would like to happen is that when you put the criteria in the input box and click the button it opens the form for the row corresponding to the criteria and allows you to edit the 20 columns. Excel 2007.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI want this macro to find in this case "406" in column A which is at the very end of the last block of 160 rows of information.
I then want it to move up 159 rows and copy 160 rows of information underneath the last block of information.
i.e.go to A5280 , then go to a5121, copy rows 5121:5280 to 5281.
It falls over on the very last line of code I can see A5281 selected but it won't paste....
This is a column I have in Sheet1 ( the sheet is not named) In this sheet I have or will have 10,000 records of names of clients and the status they hold with company
What i would like to have done is a everytime Reg.feed Set up is found in the Column O is that column A-W is copied and moved to sheet 2 (which is also not named). The promblem that i am having with the current code is that is does not skip blank cells data as to be in every cell of that column in order for it to keep moving down the column.
Here is the code
Sub Feed_set_up()
'Let's start at row 2. Row 1 has headers
x = 3
'Start the loop
Do While Cells(x, 15) ""
'Look for data with 'Feed set up'

With a macro to copy from the last entire row with data and immediately insert and paste to the row below in the active worksheet. I am using Office 2007.

When I do it manually, I see that the table nicely fits in different cells and looks good, but when I use a macro , I see that everything gets copied to a single cell.
I was wondering if it's possible to copy and paste formulas to a brand new excel sheet. I created an excel sheet with some forumlas but when I try to copy and paste it to a new page it only pastes the values and not the formulas.
Is there any way to transfer the formulas as well?
I am wondering if I copy a list from a pdf file and paste it all into column A1...is there a way to paste the list going down in rows like A2 A3 A4?

Is this possible?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI Have a spreadsheet in which data is spreading into column A-Z. I would like to disable copy, paste, ^V,^R,^C, ^D for certain columns (Q-U) of the workbook so that user is forced to enter data manually on these columns.
Is there any simple of doing this using VBA.
I'm trying to use a VBA Macro to copy and paste a row of cells from 14 worksheets into in another worksheet in a Colum. The worksheets are entitled Data 1, Data 2, Data 3 and so on until Data 14 and the worksheet that I want to paste the data to is entitled sheet 1. The row of data that I want to copy and paste is in the same place on each worksheet C4 - IR4. I can do this using the Macro recorder but there is a lot of code and ultimately I want this to be part of a much bigger Macro once I get better at figuring this stuff out.
I have read that this can be done by using a Do Until and then using a loop. By the way I am using Excel 2003 with XP.
The problem is that whenever I have any browser open, IE, Chrome, Firefox, etc... the Cut & Paste, Copy & Paste function does not work correctly in Excel 2010.
When I Cut or Copy the blinking marquee around my selection briefly appears and then disappears. When I try to paste, I only have two options under the paste special function: Unicode Text and Text, same with cut and paste, however, the text doesn't actually cut, it only copies.
As soon as I close down any of the mentioned browsers, the full functionality of the cut/copy & paste functions are restored, no need to restart excel.
I need to have open a browser most of the time for work as our system is web based, so closing and re-opening is more than just an annoyance.
Suddenly realized that I can't paste formulas. When I copy/paste, it only pastes as values. When I copy and Paste Special, the only option is "Unicode Text". No option for formulas, formatting, or anything else. Excel 2007.
