Macro To Inform If A Value In A Dropdown List Equals
Aug 8, 2007
I would like to know if I can set a formula or macro to say that if a value in a dropdown list equals, lets say "Business", then show this list of value in a dropdown list in this cell.
I am trying to build my first worksheet macro. I have a dropdown list in a worksheet "Active Email" with "Yes" and 'No". When Yes is selected I want to cut that entire row and paste it in worksheet "Archived Emails". I feel I am close with the code but when I select the word from the dropdown, nothing happens.
Here is what I have so far.
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) If Target.Column = 5 Then If UCase(Target.Value) = "Yes" Then Target.EntireRow.Copy Destination:=Sheets("Archived Emails"). _ Range("A" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Offset(1) Target.EntireRow.Delete End If End If End Sub
I have code to do what I need to do currently but it only works for one cell. If I try to get it to copy down through a range it loops endlessly back and forth between two values. I am sure that there is an easy way of accomplishing this. I would appreciate anyones help or suggstions. Thanks.
Would like to PDF from print area each of the vendors in the drop-down list and save file to a designated location with the file name being the vendor name in the drop down window.
I am trying to improve a process for someone in my workgroup to save a lot of time when reporting performance.
I have a spreadsheet with a drop down list of names. When I select a name from the drop down list I would like to copy a range of values on another sheet and paste special value a few columns over on the same sheet. I would like to have this only happen for the range of vaules on the row that correspondes with the name that I selected from the drop down list on the original sheet.
I created a drop down list (of various Input Groups) and I need to show the selected group's responsibilities on a separate sheet; is there an easy way to do this?
In cell B4 I have data validation drop down list which refers to the range of values named Tarifalist. Tarifalist list has the following range of values: 01,1A-1F / DAC / 02 / OM / HM / 5A (Baja) / 5 (Baja) / 03
In cell B5 I have a data validation drop down list with =IF(OR($B$4="03",$B$4="OM",$B$4="HM"),Thirty,ThirtySixty) Where range Thirty has the value 30, and ThirtySixty has values 30 and 60
I would like in addition, a Macro which when either 03, HM, or OM is selected in cell B4, that it automatically sets the value to 30 in cell B5. The purpose is so that the input is foolproof, and no user can accidentally leave the value at 60. As of now, if the value has been left at 60, and 03, HM, or OM is selected in B4, B5 can stay at 60, which is not a valid input and must be manually changed.
Is it possible to have a worksheet code that would underline a row if a certain value is selected in a dropdown list?
I have a worksheet with data populated across colums A to K, in Column I there is a dropdown list. What I wanted was to be able to understrike the Columns A to K of a particular row is the value in the dropdown list in Column I ="Cancelled". I cannot use Conditional Formatting as I have already used the maximum 3 formats for other features.
I am working on Excel document(Microsoft office-2007) with 2 sheets(Sheet1,Sheet2). In sheet1 i have a dropdown list and the respective data is saved in Sheet2.On selection of dropdown lists in sheet1 ,respective rows should get copied from Sheet2 to Sheet1.
I am having trouble with the macro command. This is a first for me and I am stuck. I just dont know the how to write the Macro for this.
I've done some looking around in the object browser and in the forum, but i wasn't able to find the answer to this question:
I've got a combobox (dropdown list) in a userform which i use to run macros. soft of them are fairly long (2-3seconds), and during that time the dropdown list remains visible.... is there a way to force hide it?
with the following....In the first sheet of attached file I keep data regarding all invoice sheets next to the data sheet (not visible in this example). I like to print an invoice in all sheets (area H3-AI43) from a selected invoice sheet out of a drop-downlist in the "data"sheet. After printing the actual printdate must be placed in column F of the "data" sheet next to the sheet number. Would be great if this is possible! Maybe I'm not clear enough. The purpose is to print only 1 invoice from a selected sheet out of the drop-down list.....and not all invoices from all sheets!
I am after some VBA code that chooses each value from a drop down list (in cell A1) then copies a separate sheet 1 (sheet 1) into another workbook (can have both workbooks open at the same time or the first step will have to create a workbook) with the name of the added sheet renamed to the value chosen from the list. When the second value is chosen then sheet 1 should be copied into the newly created workbook as well.
Sheet 1 has lookups that are updated when the new value in the drop down list is chosen
There are around 85 values in the drop down list so I'm expecting a workbook with 85 tabs (copy pasted values and formats)
I have an excel form with a command (submit) button that opens up Outlook when clicked. I am looking for a way to have this submit button disappear when the user selects a specific item in a drop down list to make sure they do not email the form when it is used for a promotion (Promotion would be selected in the drop down).
I'm looking for a macro to jump to and select a cell if it matches the text in another cell based on a drop down list. So I have a drop down list in cell c57 and a form control search button right next to it. I want the user to be able to select from the drop down, click search and then jump to the cell that matches what they selected. I would like the macro to search from B:60 - B629.
I am trying to write a simple macro to copy a drop down list I created in cell O2 and then paste in the same sheet. I need it to paste starting in cell A2 and then move to A4 and so on for every even row cell through A9778. I would also like it to keep a border around the cell. I can't find direction on how to tell it every even cell or defining x and then doing x + 1...
Need a way of quickly telling whther a user as a workbook open without trying to open the workbook yourself? I have many individual workbooks which I need to regularly update, before I can update them I have to check whether anybody else has them open and then wait until they are out before I can do the update.
I'm using a UserForm to inform the user that the program is still running. Unfortunately, when I do: UserForm1.Show the program hangs there until I hit the Ok button. How can I make the program run as the box is shown.
I have attached a worksheet that shows the last and first name of an employee along with their hire date and term date, if termed. What I am looking for is a function that will tell me if a person was active as of 12/31/08 which will read true on the side of their name under active; I also need a function that will tell me if a person worked over 6 months in 2008.
The first person John Doe was hired in 2005 and has a true on the side of his name which meant that he was active as of 12/31/08 but as you can see Jane Doe has true on the side of her hire date and false on the side of her term date and I don't want it to read the first true but the last true of someones name, but Jane Doe qualifies for working over 6 months even though she started in 2007.
I have a spreadsheet with a lot of account numbers. I want my Macro to highlight the row A:C if certain accounts are found in the spreadsheet.
For Example:
Account numbers "10998-0000" and "18999-0000" are allowed to be in the spreadsheet so don't want them highlighted. But Account "10110-0000" should be highlighted.
I know the Macro will be big but I was hopping something like: If ActiveCell is not accounts .... I would then list all my account numbers... Then
and at the end a loop until ActiveCell is Empty.
I have this so far.
Range("A12").Select MyColumn = 1 i = 12 Range("A" & i).Select
I have a 1000x1000 cell grid on one of the worksheets in my workbook where each cell contains one of the following four possibilities:
1) Blank 2) A string that is not defined in a lookup table (*lookup table = a named range on a different sheet) 3) A string that exactly matches an item in the lookup table 4) A long string that contains an item in the lookup table (which can be found with a FIND function, for example)
I would like to apply conditional formatting to my 1000x1000 grid, to color each cell according to the lookup table, where the last column has the name of a color that I can match with my conditional formatting setup.
I have solved everything except for No. 4).
2) is taken care of by using "Format only cells that contain" with "No Blanks"
My solution for 3) - using "Use a Formula to Determine Which Cells to Format" - uses =VLOOKUP(A1,lookup_table,2,FALSE)="fill color name" So, for every different color I want to use, I have a different Formatting Rule in the Conditional Formatting dialog.
But 4) is tricky, because VLOOKUP can only return the result for a specific cell value. If my cell contains France;Germany;Italy, I'd like the color to be according to what I set for "France" in my lookup table. Or, if my cell contains Germany;France;Italy, I'd like it to be set based on what I decided Germany is in the lookup table (i.e. "blue").
You can notice that one thing that is consistent is that I separate my "sub-strings" that are contained in the lookup table with a semi-colon.
So, one way might be to see if FIND finds a semi-colon, and then grab the string that goes before that character position.
I'm creating a spreadsheet to keep track of my costs of production in an online game. Within the game there are a range of spawned resources that appear for only a short time before being unobtainable these resources have specific types that is shared between multiple spawns of the resource but each resource spawn has a unique name.
My first worksheet lists all the resources and their various qualities and the later worksheets are meant to allow me to choose from a list resources matching the requirements of the item I'm looking to craft. The example i have shown in the second picture requires Tatooinian Fiberplast and Lokian Wild Wheat to craft so in the Chosen Resource column I would like to have a drop down list allowing me to select the named resource type i would like to use - for Tatooinian Fiberplast the only thing on the list should be Omnitwixi and for the Wild Wheat it should show Fizi and Krad

I am aware there are people with more pressing problems than computer games and as such
I've seen a few examples of macros to delete the row if the first letter is something, but not if the first 2 is equal to something.
I'm looking to go thru every row that contains data and look in Column B to see if it starts with P4 or P5. If that's true, then delete the entire row.
I'm trying to create macro that will clear the contents of the cells in the 4 columns to the left of a cell that = 0 %, as well as the cell that = 0%. For example, if cell F13 = 0 % then the contents of B13:F13 would need to be cleared. The range in which data is being pasted into is B13:F27.
Is there a way to create a drop down list from a comma delimited list in a single cell? For example, col A is Name & Col B is the delimited list - Blue,Red,Green (list can be different for each name). Would like a drop down list in col C that allows you to pick one of the values from Col B.
