UserForm-trying To Open With A Button Click
Nov 8, 2002I have a User Form that I am trying to open with a button click. I made a copy of one workbook with a new name. The Buttons and Macros were all copied as well. I modified the old Userform so that I can release Version 2 of the Userform, and now when I click on the button in Excel, I get the following error : Object doesn't support this property or method. Run-Time error '438'.
The code assigned to that button is as follows:

What am I doing wrong? HELP! Once you have the Userform populated with ComboBoxes,Textboxes, etc., is there now way of making changes to that Userform? If you make changes and rearrange the locations of the buttons and boxes and labels... does that mess up the button in Excel that opens the form to begin with?

What I would like to do is have a MsgBox open up that states this file is confidential and you click 'I Agree' button, or a cancel "I Decline"
I do not want the spreadsheet to be visible until they click on 'I Agree' button, and then if they click cancel, the Excel closes.
This is not a huge security issue, just a reminder for the Top Brass not to email out the file. This is for looks and show only
Click The Master Button, That Would Click Another Button On A Different Worksheet

I have a master "update" commandbutton on sheet 1. I have two sub "update" buttons on sheet 2 and 3 respectively.
What I would like to do is have the user click the master button, that would "click" the two sub buttons so they run their respective macros on their respective worksheets (within the same worksheet.
I have tried pasting the macro code in the master button, telling it to select the sub worksheet and then run the macro, but the marco runs itself on the master worksheet instead.

I need two different kind of buttons. I have a button that does this-

However, when I try and create these codes using a Command button (I need it for the color), I get the error
"unable to get the buttons property of the Worksheet class"
P.S one other thing, say the button is in row 3, and Cells A1 and A2 are merged, when you click the button in row 3, it should extend the merge to A3.

May 5, 2006I have done a search in the forum, and there are many results on browsing directory and opening files, but they are not what I have in mind.
What I have is different folders for different months (e.g. “January”, “February’, “March” and so on), and in each folder I have the same file names (e.g., in “January” folder, I have files called A, B, C. In “February”, I also have files A, B, C but these are different from the files in other folders)
Basically I need a macro which can open a specific list of files.
So first step, the user should be able to browse the directory, then select a folder (no need to open, not sure if it makes any difference though). I need the user to be able to select different folders because the macro should work for the different months in different years.
For this, I have found this

Aug 29, 2007I have numerous sub directories, C:/Jobs/12500 – 12599, C:/Jobs/12600 – 12699 etc, within these directories exist spreadsheets with file names like 12675.xls (in this case it’s in the “12600 – 12699” directory). In my open spreadsheet, in cell A1, there is a job number, say 12675. I want to find and open the existing 12675.xls spreadsheet. If the spreadsheet does not exist, a template (Costing.xlt), in a fixed directory, is opened and then saved, in the correct sub directory i.e. C:/Jobs/12600 – 12699/12675.xls. I am now using the following code, but the directory is fixed. How can it be modified to work with variable directories?

Mar 11, 2014I have a Workbook "forecast.xlsx" and several Workbooks which have a individual Number in the Filename (E.g. "3960........xls", "3961.......xls etc.) in the same directory as "forecast.xlsx" + projects"
Now, I would like to browse through "forecast.xlsx" in column H, searching for hyperlinks. In Column H are these Projectnumbers located which are used in the filenames above. Whenever the Cell cointains a hyperlink, following should happen (that far i managed it by myself):
- Store the Cellvalue in a String Variable
- Go to the Directory this.workbook + projects
- browse this folder, searching for a File which contains the stored string in its filename
- open the file
- copy a range
- close file
- This.workbook.Activate
- follow the Hyperlink which has been stored as String before
- paste selection
- continue browsing through column H, looking for the next hyperlink.
I have a VBA which runs bugless, but it copies the wrong range, but to the correct destination.

I want to create a msgbox that warns me when I click in a toolbar's button to call a macro that not runs in the activesheet. Something like: "This code (or macro) doesn't match (or run) with the active sheet.

Unfortunately, the data it pulls is usually old. I've found the only solution is to open a browser manually and to click the Reload button on the web page then navigate back to my workbook and run it again. Then it will pull the most up to date info.
I've tried several ways of forcing a refresh of the data, but have not figured it out yet.
I have been trying the past couple of hours to use the send keys button to tab down to the button on the page I need and to hit enter, thus forcing a refresh, but I can't seem to get that to work either.
Button With Macro Do Nothing When Click On It
Nov 4, 2009On a spreadsheet I have a button which has a macro assigned to it, for some reason when I protect the worksheet then then click the button, nothing happens (or though I do get egg timer for a second). but when I unprotect the shet its fine.
ive used this type of method many tiems, and cant see what the problem is, have tried all combination of locking and unlocking cells in and around etc, but nothign changes it.

Ive been using the code from Daves Download Page to log users of the spreadsheet, however im now want to log which button is being clicked the most. Is this possible? Ive tried to do it myself, by adding a hidden sheet, and adding code to each button to add a line to the new sheet each time the button was clicked etc, but faield miserably.

May 12, 2009I seem to have broken something!. Whenever I double-click to open an Excel file (.xls files are associated correctly), Excel opens, but nothing happens. That status bar says "Ready," but my workbook never appears.
If I do a File-> Open within Excel, then I am able to open the workbook. I have no idea what is going on. This occurs for all Excel files whether they contain macros or not.

What I need to be done is this :- the workbook which has the button is open. The code should click the button on a specific sheet. On this action, the macro assigned to the button should get called.
I could just call the macro which is assigned to the button in this code. But the requirement is that the button click operation should call the macro.

Mar 16, 2012I have a User form which had a button which redirects me to a certain sheet, e.g. If I wanted to go to stock sheet I would click cmdViewStock and it would open the stock worksheet meaning it works, but the userform still stays open. Is there a way in which once I click the cmdViewStock it opens the Stock worksheet but closes the userform automatically straight after?

The users enter the appropriate data, and with the clicking of a command button, the data is entered into the worksheet. When that is complete, the idea is to return the user to same form, in a default value so they can enter in new data for submission. This will continue until the user selects the Exit button onthe userform.

I'm not sure about the appropriateness here of the 'Application.Enableevents=False" here. Since the fields of the userform have change events associated with them, I need to disable that what the userform activation code defaults them.
