Populated Cell Does Not Copy Font Style (italics / Bold)
Jan 22, 2014
I have a cell (lets say F4) with the formula "=A3" in it. In cell A3 is text that is partially italicized. I need a way for F4 to populate not only the text that is in A3 but also the font style.
Not sure if this can be done, but is there a way I can write a sumif formula to add up all amounts which are in Italics? I dont want to use VBA, just a simple excel formula. Is this possible?
I am using this formula (Below) and it is working great. Only problem is that I want the client name to be be bold and font size 12, then I want it to highlight in Red. I also want the rows in colunm L to highlight in bright green.
Sub InputData() Dim varUserInput As Variant Dim LastRow As Integer
I'm trying to have a macro run to search a specific column (S) for a particular text value "y" and if true it will change the font to bold and the color to red for the entire row of the cell that contains the "y". the column is part of a data table that is constantly refreshed not sure if that makes a difference or not.
how to create an if statement based on font properties.
I did a couple searches on "conditional formatting" but didn't find anything, and it seems like the only way would be through a macro, am i correct? I'd much rather be able to do this on a formula sheet if possible.
I need to create a macro that will examine a range of cells, for example D12:T12, find the cell with the largest number value in that range then set the font for that cell to bold (or red, or change the cell background color).
I am trying to write some code to choose the last "comments" entered in column 13 and then copy the data to B17 on the specified sheet below.
I get an Excel Error Excel cannot complete this task with available resources. Choose less data or close other application THEN a VB error Method'open' of object 'Workbooks' failed
Code: Dim MyMgr As String Dim whichsheet as string
I created a style for a row that has titles in the first column, and numbers in all of the columns (in the same row) However, when I copy the style to another row it applies the style from the first cell. Is it possible for the style to copy the row style, cell by cell? (like pasta formatting?)
the first time font.bold is set to true, it completes w/o error. The bolded line returns 'application defined or object defined error 1004'. Ive tried activating the new sheet immediately before setting bold (like the first time it gets set) but it still errors.
I am merging columns. Col B has all text in bold. Col C has all text in regular font. When I use ASAP to merge, the merged column comes out all bold. When I use a formula to merge the merged column comes out all regular. What I want is for the merged column to contain the bold text from Col B in bold, and the regular text from Col C in regular.
What I want is...
This is for service plan B: Take all data and transer to new server.
What I am getting is...
This is for service plan B:Take all data and transer to new server.
OR
This is for service plan B:Take all data and transer to new server.
I am trying to create a macro that if a value in a cell in column A is bold, then the value in the same row in column H is bold, then loop it to run on the rest of the worksheet.
Is there any way to modify the 1st style under the Light category? I like it because it's the most simple but it won't allow me to Modify or Duplicate. Is there a work around to duplicating/copying it? I've tried manually creating a new style but I can't get it to get the lines fills correctly.
I am wondering if using an "if" statement or a case statement would be good ways to check two worksheets in two different workbooks to see if their names match? I could use some help correcting my syntax too:
For 1 to ws.count If Worksheet("one").Name = Worksheet("two").Name Worksheet("one").Range("A1:G84").Copy Worksheet("two").Range("A1:G84").Paste Endif Next ws.Count
I have a spreadsheet with a pivot table in it. Column "G" has all of the data in it I need to abbreviate, problem is, I only want the values in BOLD face, and there are 3-5 rows seperating each boldfaced item. I would have to manually copy-paste each bold value into a new, 'clean' column ( column "I", or in a new sheet/workbook, it doesn't matter), and lather-rinse-repeat for the next 700+ rows. It sucks. No, it really does. I stumbled upon this website which is seemingly the utopia for excel macro and programming problems, so is there anyone out there that might take the time to walk me through it...?
I am using the below code to pull information from multiple sheets into one master sheet. Currently, it is funcitoning fine with one slight problem. In each of the sheets I have formulas copied down until row 500. However, some of the sheets may only have formulas populated up until row 50 for example. edit the below macro to where I am only pulling in the rows that have populated formulas?
Code: Sub Consolidate() 'Author: Jerry Beaucaire' 'Date: 9/15/2009 (2007 compatible) (updated 4/29/2011)
I have multiple excel sheets wherein the content has bold, italic, underlined, normal text. I want to replace such texts with relevant html tags.Example is below
Identify the adjective in the following sentence. Can you please pass me the black pepper?
should change to
Identify the <b>adjective</b> in the following sentence. <i>Can you please pass me the black pepper?</i>
I'm working on a Excel template where 6 cells are filled with text. Now I want to put all the text in those cells into one 'result cell'. I already know how to put the cell values into strings and paste them beneath each other.
My problem is that I don't only want to copy the cell values but also the formatting, because all of the separate cells have a bold title. If I only copy the values the formatting isn't copied with it, so my question is:
How do I copy the cell formatting (bold titles) with it or how can I make a string bold?? Beneath is my code:
I have designed a simple user form to populate a finding tracker spreadsheet. Updating the tracker works fine.
Although I only need to update certain textboxes in the user form, I find myself having to enter the same data in every textbox so that the next row of the spreadsheet is filled. In all cases, if a textbox is not updated for the next row, then the data should copy the data from the previous row.
For example, last data Transferred from the user form are as follows:
[Heading] Col A - Col B - Col C [Row 1] Apple - Red - 10
Assuming I would only update the textbox for Col C in the user form, the next row in my spreadsheet would look like this:
[Heading] Col A - Col B - Col C [Row 1} Apple - Red - 10 [Row 2] (empty) - (empty) - 20
As such, I would like to add a code that allows the data (Apple and Red in Col A and Col B) from the previous row to be copied automatically and only updates Col C with the new value 20.
Oh, I should add that I have mostly Textbox values (about 20 columns) in the spreadsheet with the exception of three columns with CheckBox values although I can always repeat the checkbox fields.
I want text that's in bold in column B in sheet 1 of my spreadsheet to copy over into column A in sheet 2 of my spreadsheet - is there a quick way of doing this using code or a formula?
Is it possible to modify the attached code so that it will copy bold text and border as shown in attachment sample1 and paste in sheet Shop. Currently the code just copy's and pastes without bold text and borders.
excel automatically applies the Hyperlink style formatting to the cell. is there a way to avoid this, other than using: [HTML]Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) ActiveSheet.Hyperlinks.Delete End Sub[/HTML]
I'm putting together a calendar that will have show when people are off on holiday, training, out of the office or ill. But as it will identify people by name I have changed to cell style to reflect just what activity they are doing. As such I want to be able to count over a year just who has done what.
Is there a piece of code that can count based on the text inside a cell and it's style e.g. "20% - Accent1"
