Removing Trailing Spaces From Cells In Entire Spreadsheets?

I have an Excel file with several worksheets and each of those worksheets has over 600 rows (a list of employees) and above or under 30 columns. Most of cells have trailing spaces in them and they vary in length. For example:
B5: "Jacobson "
C5: "jacobson@jacobson.org "
(Seems like it's not allowing me to post long gaps between the last letters and the "
I'm aware of the TRIM function and know that I could at least get a column or a few copied with the spaces removed. However, it would just take so much time. What would be the most efficient way of getting rid of all the trailing spaces in all the cells in all the columns in all the worksheets?

I have come up with this to Trim all of the data from rows 2:30 removing any trailing spaces after the last word in each cell. The macro takes a couple of minutes to run have I got something wrong that is making it run slowly or does the Trim process just take longer?

how to remove multiple leading and trailing spaces while leave spaces in the middle of the string in place? I have tried text to columns but this does not remove the multiple spaces.

While entering data space is given in the first and last of each cell content. For example
if there is a word Alex Patrix in a cell, space is given before A of alex and after x of Patrix. This is done fo many cells. I want to remove only initial and last space which is un-necessary.
The space caused problem to compare cell so i've to remove space.
I've around 2500 cells with this problem.

I'm compiling several old worksheets into a single database for a research study. The worksheets contain patient data. Some of the worksheets have the patient's last name, first name, and middle initial entered all in one cell like this: Smith,John R. Compounding the problem is the fact that sometimes the name is entered with a space between the comma and the first name, sometimes not.
I have formulas to break the name out into three separate columns "lName, "fName", "midInit". However, if the name in the original cell has a space between the coma and the first name, then the “fname” column will contain a blank space in front of the name. This is problem because patients names can appear in the database more than once. Some patients are in the database several times.
If patient “John R. Smith”, for example, is entered in the database as”
“Smith” “John” “R “
and also as
“Smith” “<space>John” “R”
then the database won’t recognize them as the same name when I search for John Smith’s data. Right?
If so, then I need a way to eliminate the empty spaces in front of the first names. Like I said, some have empty spaces and some don’t. I could do this by hand, but there are over 1000 entries in these worksheets.

I have a column of data in which each cell contains a line of text. Each line of text has spaces after the letters end and there doesn't seem to be a consistent number of trailing spaces.
I can clean up the data using the TRIM function but is it possible to use the TEXT TO COLUMNS functionality?

I have an excel file with two sheets . One containing the updated prices with its code ( Sheet1) and the other containing the old prices with the same codes (sheet2). Now after several trials to copy the new prices from sheet 1 to sheet 2 with check if the code is same . ( I couldn't )
So how to get rid of the 20 spaces from Sheet1 column A.

I have written a function which works in the same way as the concatenate formula but where required it uses an underscore to make up the length (14 Characters) of the result. I seem however to have hit a minor snag when users input trailing spaces. I thought I could use trim to eliminate them but it doesnt seem to be working

Any easy way to remove all spaces from a cell, both leading and trailing? I find it hard to believe that Excel doesn't have this functionality. I don't particulary want to write a VBA script since I have never done it but if that's the only way, I'd love to know how to write it. I have looked everywhere but obviously not in the right places.

I am using the following code to import an excel file into an existing sheet. The problem I am having is the way some of the cells are being imported. Some of the cells have spaces before and after the number.
I need to delete the leading and trailing spaces for each cell affected. Is there a code I can incorporate to do this? BTW…the columns effected are columns F & G.

Is there a fomula that can add trailing spaces. For example....I need a certain feild to be 11 Characters in length. So lets say in Column A, I have a bunch of different words:
House
Bird
Up
Down
Yes
No
I would like to put a formula in column B that takes my original text and adds blank spaces to the end of it until it's 11 Characters. So "House" in Column A would be "House " in column B.

to trim leading and trailing spaces from values I'm getting from a For Next routine. I'm using c as my variable and Trim(c.value) as the operation.
There are other routines that search for the explicit string that's the result of the trimmed value and some can't be found because the trim as I'm using it isn't trimming.

I wrote a tool that people at work use. They initially need to paste in a bunch of customer locations with Address, City, State, Zip, etc. Sometimes the Users have "bad input" data that has non-breaking spaces, multiple space between words, or leading and trailing spaces and nonbreaking spaces. I have code to get rid of all of those problems. However, the Users often use their data for other important functions at work. So I want to give them a message to let them know that their Original Data is "bad".
So instead of just "Fix" . . . I want to "Report the problem", then "Fix". I need to identify exactly what problem was found - not just tell the User that their data is bad.
I wrote a simple Search routine with error handling that identifies 2 of the 4 cases and notifies the User:
Case 1) ASCII 160 (non-breaking space, HTML  
Case 2) multiple spaces (2 or more consecutive spaces)
Case 3) Leading or Trailing Spaces (ASCII 032)
Case 4 Leading or Trailing non-breaking spaces (ASCII 160, which is HTML  )
I cannot quite figure out how to find the 3rd and 4th Cases. If anyone can help me with Case 4 especially, then I can probably do the same thing for Case 3.
I think it will work to somehow use this idea - the code is not even real code but it is just conceptual:
RIGHT(CellReference, 1) = Char(160) or Char(032)
LEFT(CellReference, 1) = Char(160) or Char(032)
Anyway, here is what I have so far . . .

I am trying to create a CSV file to import all of our workers into a payroll software. Unfortunately the list of workers that I have been given to work with has a first and a last name together in one cell. I need to split them into separate cells so the data ends up in the right field in our software. By importing external data and separating the names with the comma as a delimiter, I have ended up with the first name in one cell and the second in another, which is exactly what I need. However, this process also ends up putting a quotation mark in front of the first names in the cells in column A, and a quotation mark after the second name in the cells in column B.
I remember to removing trailing spaces with a macro once, and I am hoping the same theory can be applied to make two macros - one to remove preceding quotation marks, and one to remove trailing quotation marks. The only trouble is, I know no VBA whatsoever, and don't even know how to make a macro unfortunately. Would someone mind letting me know if what I need is possible, and then - literally step by basic step - explain how to make a macro and provide the code to paste into it?

I need to do a lookup on these cells but for some reason they all appear to have some kind of space characters in each cell which you can see if you double click on them. I have tried trims, text to columns, find replaces and none of these seem to work
I have a huge list of these numbers / codes and they all have the weird space kind of characters at the end
Can anyone give me a solution on how to remove them so my lookup will work?

I have a file with thousands of records and on the name field, I have case like this:

I have cells in a sheet containing varying numbers of items separated by semicolons. I want to convert these to columns using text to columns. The trouble is there are spaces after each semicolon, and I don't know how to get rid of them. I believe this may be compounded by the fact that the cells containing varying numbers of items. When I convert to columns I don't want each cell in the new columns to start with spaces. I'm attaching an example of what I mean (sanitized with fast food joint names).

Spaces after entries keep messing up my VLOOKUPS. I get a lot of data from other people and when they have entered the information in some of the entries have a space after the word which mess up the results of my vlookups. Is there an easy way of going through and removing spaces after a word? Not all the words have spaces after them.

In my spreadsheet, column A, I have a list is part #'s. I have found at the end of my part #'s there are several spaces in each cell. I have a column with 11 digit numbers formatted as text (Column C) and it seems like there's three spaces after the number (In Sheet A). I am trying to do a vlookup comparing Sheet A to Sheet B. It's not working and not sure if it's the extra spacing in the cell of Sheet A that's causing the Vlookup not to work.
I would like to compare both lists to see what UPC's are on both sheets. Any ideas how I can do this?

I'm in need of some VBA code (to be included in a Macro) that will automatically use the TRIM function for all cells in a whole column and that will then replace the values in that column with the resulting TRIM values. I have a LOT of individual files with varying #'s of records in them, so a way that will address all of them (all the cells in the specified column due to varying #'s of records) would be best.
