Jul 9, 2009

I have font color white in blank cells in column E and I (from row 5 to row 245) so the visitors will not see the text. If any of these cells become yellow (color code is 6), the font color will become black so visitors can see the text alot far better than white. I've tried this code myself after this post but nothing happen

Worksheet Events: Use A Worksheet Event To Change The Background Of The Current Month Two Columns In The Range To Yellow Color

Jun 12, 2007

In cell A1, I have the month number (eg, 1, 2, 3,). The month number reflects current month and will automatically change with every month. For example, right now it’s 6, next month it will automatically change to 7. Each two columns in Range A10:X20 represents the data from January to December. I want to use a worksheet event to change the background of the current month two columns in the range to yellow color and the two columns in the range will be visible when I activate this sheet.

Conditional Formatting - Highlight Yellow If Cell Is Keyed In Instead Of Formula

Dec 17, 2012

I have a file where the cells are all formulas.

Employees are able to key in a number instead of using the number derived from the formula.

I want the cell to use conditional formatting without the use of macros, so it will highlight yellow if the cell is keyed in instead of a formula.

Is this possible? I have tried numerous things, but none seem to work.

Example:

Cell A6 has the number 24,248 derived from a formula.

Employee thinks the number should be 30,000 and keys that number in.

If it is 24,248, I want the number to have no fill, but if it is a keyed in number, I want it to be highlighted.

Copy & Append To Report, Rows From Multiple Sheets If Any Cell Meets Format Color

May 1, 2008

I've seen a few threads on here about this issue but none of them do quite what I am looking for. I'd like for a single page "report" to be created when a user presses a button (which runs a macro, of course) The macro should be able to run through certain named sheets (even if hidden) and if a cell in any row is red within a sheet then the entire row or rows that meet the criteria should be copied and pasted into the Report sheet.

On the report sheet, for each sheet that has had rows that were copied, I'd like to have the name of the sheet as the header above the pasted rows so that the user knows which sheet the data came from. Any sheet that doesn't have red cells would be excluded from the report. I've attached a sample file but had to limit the number of sheets because of Orgrid's file size limit. Hopefully, you'll see what I am getting at here.

Use Cell Value To Color Other Cell On Different Sheets

Feb 18, 2009

On sheet1 i've on each row a reference number; in the 5 consecutive cells a mesurement (numbers).
On Sheet2 i've a shematic representation of machines on a workfloor.

Each machine represents 1 cell. In each of these cells the reference number (same as in sheet1) is written.

I'd like a macro on sheet2 to match the reference number on sheet1 and read a specific cell with a mesurement on the wright row (corresponding the reference number). When this is done the cell on sheet2 is colored according 5 conditions (without erasing the ref.nbr).

Both sheets are dynamic... Machines can be added on sheet2 with corresponding data on sheet1.

Macro: Changing Cell Color Based On Date In Cell

Jan 12, 2009

I did a search on this site and found some code I was looking for (see link:

http://www.excelforum.com/excel-prog...e-in-cell.html - Leith Ross's response code).

The code works perfectly, however, if I save the workbook with a different spreadsheet on top than the spreadsheet referred to in this code, I get an error message: Method 'Range' of object '_Worksheet' failed.

I should state that I did change "Private Sub Workbook_Open()" to "Private Sub Auto_Open()".

I assume I need to modify the code but am unsure as to how.

Macro To Find Color Of A Cell

May 3, 2013

I have a worksheet called "Mgr Scorecard". Within this worksheet across the top in row 1 are the Manager names. In row 2 are all of the items for each manager that they are score them on. In column A is a list of our EE's. Based on how they score the cell gets filled in either red or green.

For my example below I am looking for a macro that I can tie back to a command button so that when the button is clicked the macro go out looks at a column "Item 1" for each Manager and for all those cells shaded "green" returns those rows. I know this can be done in conditional formatting but due to the large amount of data to sort a macro linked to a command button will be easier.

So on my example below the macro should return EE 2 & 4 since they are the only two shaded green. I wasn't able to get the shade colors on this after I posted so I just type in what color they would be, but on my actual sheet there is no words just colored cells.

Mgr Name

Item 1
Item 2
Item 3
Item 4
EE 1
Red

Macro That Calculates Sum Based On Cell Color?

The Excel file is in this link

If you look at the chart on the left, it breaks down how this whole thing works. It takes the sum of the numbers that fall within each line. I wrote it out on column M so that it's more clear. In column D-L, I filled in random numbers ranging from 4000-700. The numbers in those gray boxes are ignored. This Macro should only apply to Column M and beyond. Is it possible to write a macro that will be able to do this?

Macro To Format Half Of The Cell With A Different Color

Nov 28, 2008

I have a list of records that will eventually be used to create a pivot table. Sometimes an account number will be listed twice but instead of adding to the previous info, it needs to start a new record. I decided in these instances to mark the account number with a character (+). Even though the + will designate a separate record, I'd like it to be invisible.

Is there a way to automatically turn the font color white for only the +? Since I've automated the rest of the process using a macro, a VBA solution is fine.

If Blank Cells, Paint Yellow. If Cell To Left Is Less Than A Number, Don't Paint

Sep 8, 2009

I have a spreadsheet which contains 39 columns with a header row. The number of rows varies per spreadsheet. I'm running into a problem with highlighting(painting yellow) cells. Really the problem is selecting the cells to be highlighted. The macro is skipping some of my code completely and in other cases leaving some cells unhighlighted.

1. All blank cells in row AG should be painted yellow.

2. If column AF contains a cell with number 900 or greater, then the cell in AG (same row) should NOT be painted yellow.

3. All blank cells in rows AC and G should be painted yellow. Some spreadsheets may not contain blank cells.

Problem with the VB is not performing the code after the first command. It will highlight MOST of the cells in AG but for some reason it is leaving a few blank ones unhighlighted. The blank ones are usually at the bottom of the rows. I have no idea why it would miss these.

I believe the "ucase" tag is incorrect since its looking for a number but I am not sure what to put in its place and if I use something else should I dim it as ""?

I've attached an excel spreadsheet which contains a sample to this problem. I've also attached what it should look like if my code worked.

Conditional Formatting: If A Cell Value In Column X Contains The Word "open", Format Row Background To Yellow

May 7, 2009

I need to set up some conditional formatting on my spreadsheet, however I am having a little trouble with one of my conditions. The requirement is:

- if a cell value in column X contains the word "open", format row background to yellow.

- if a cell value in column X contains the word "resolved", format row background to green.

- if a cell value in column X contains the word "moved" OR "closed", format row background to blue.

Now I have manged the first two on my own, using the conditional formatting tool and using the formula "=SEARCH("open",INDIRECT("X"&ROW()))".

However I am stuck on the last one. I tried...

=OR(SEARCH("resolved",INDIRECT("X"&ROW())), SEARCH("closed",INDIRECT("X"&ROW())))

However this doesnt work. I tried looking at adding VB script in but to be honest I am not a VB programmer and cant really spend too much time on this. fix the final conditional format so it run if the cell contains either "resolved" or "closed"?

VBA Macro To Delete Entire Column When Background Cell Color Is Red

1). For each cell that in the range that has a Red background delete the entire column
I have attached a sample spreadsheet where I have tried to do this. It's not quite working. It does not seem to work when there are RED cells next to each other.

I know that I can do a simple thing like column("A:A"), but I'd rather have it in a loop as in the sample code, in case the columns change in the future.

2). The second task is to delete the rows in the spreadsheet where the first cell in the row is a blank.
