I receive everyday 100 excel sheets contaning data out of which i have to copy only 4 cells- amount, name, invoice number, vendor name into the master excel sheet. So i every time one all the excel sheet one by one and copy particular cells- e3, h45, l9,x0 and paste them one by one in the master file which i had mainted to treack the invoices issued.
Is there any shortcut where as i can minimize my copy paste work and click a button after opening each file- which i think i have to do as there can be no shortcut to it, and the 4 cells can be copied to my master file.
I'm looking at [URL] which gives a lot of keyboard shortcuts, but not specifically what I'm looking for.
It's a basic function, I'm surprised it's not listed. I just want to copy the value of a selected cell via keyboard shortcut (for copy and paste purposes). I don't want the formula, just the value. If it were just text I would typically do CTRL-C and CTRL-V to paste like everyone does 1000 times a day, but in this case it's copying between two otherwise totally unrelated spreadsheets, so having the formula is irrelevant and produces undesired results. I just need the value of the formula.
Sub test Sheets("Sheet1").Image1.Picture = LoadPicture("") Sheets("Sheet1").Image1.Picture = LoadPicture(CFPicPath + CFPic) Range("A1:G37").CopyPicture Appearance:=xlScreen, Format:=xlPicture Sheets("Sheet2").Select Range("A1").Select ActiveSheet.Paste end sub
I need to link an image to a cell value and display the selected image in a new sheet of the same excel. I am attaching samplefile for easy reference. The requirement is, from the workout sheet when I select from drop down list, then the corresponding cell value appears in Parameter sheet in C9 cell.
There are four images copied in Parameter excel. The given image has to be selected and linked to the C9 cell value. Based on the selection that particular image should be shown on Sample Picture sheet. Here based on the selection only the image should reflect here.
I need to find an easy way to locate an image on my server and upon selection rather than inserting the actual image I need to insert the image path. e.g. "s:imageshighresgreen1234.jpg"
I have a conversion chart of decimals to fractions I made in Excel. I want to copy and paste as an image so I can shrink it to fit at the top with the frozen headings.
I tried to take a picture of it on the monitor, but the photo captures the screen fuzzy pixels.
I tried to copy and paste but could not find where I could paste as a special attribute. Or a picture on the internet with the decimal first and the fraction second in 1/16ths
My workbook simply has multiple columns of data which will be summarized visually in a tag cloud (I have the tag cloud part taken care of already creating either a jpg or png, I simply have to change the extension within a batch file to change between picture formats)
I need to have the tag cloud image display and update depending on which column the user would like to summarize (for now I have simplified the issue by only having one of the data columns in my workbook, and will worry about the user selection of the data column to be summarized later).
My Main Question:
Focusing on the image display and updating now, whether it be an ActiveX Image Control or any other way. I've been playing around manually before I try and code it and I can not get either a jpg or png file to attach to the ActiveX control (both of which cause an Invalid Picture Message).
The file name can stay the same if need be and for now I think/assume that'd be easiest (I have my Tag cloud generator just replacing the previously existing image file of the same name).
Would ActiveX control be the way to go for this dynamically changing image?
I am looking for a way to take the picture name associated with an image ie: (picture 571) and place that picture name in the cell next to the image.
I can see the picture name - it registers in the top left box that usually indicates the cell the cursor is on... and I could manually type that name next to each image.
However my spreadsheet has several thousand rows- each with several columns of information and an image..
I am looking for a way "formula?" to automatically read the image in cell J4 and populate cell K4 with the image name... and so on.
The reason for my request... is I am importing products into a web based shopping cart... to do so I have to export the products to a csv and import that csv into the shopping cart. The process of exporting to a csv- strips away all the images and leaves just data.
I found that I can save the document as an html and that process creates a folder with all the images- saved as (picture 571.jpg) if the resulting csv had the image name... the shopping cart would then look for that image name in my image file and it would populate into the shopping cart appropriately.
This seemed on it's face like a really simple thing to do, I have plenty experience with excel & I thought I'd be able to make cell k4= j4 and tada it would glean the image name & I could simply copy that formula all the way down the sheet & it would be done... but I just cant find the magic button that freely gives up the image name...
I have a number of image controls on a user form, each being loaded with an image from file.
Image1 being loaded with a picture of a bus image2 being loaded with a picture of a school
And so on
Now what I am trying to do is when that image is clicked the name of that image is passed to a textbox
So the action would be
1 image of bus loaded into image control1 , the name of that image being bus.jpg 2 image is clicked 3 the name bus.jpg appears in a text box
Here is what I have so far
Code:
Private Sub Image1_Click() DataInput.TextBoxItem.Value = bus.jpg
DataInput.TextBoxItem.Value= Image1.Name - this does not work
End Sub
Which works but as you can see this is static, as I have supplied the value , were as I would like the clicking action to pick up the name of the jpeg being displayed
So expanding upon this if say image1 is loaded with say a picture of a car instead of a bus
LValue4 = "E:Car.jpg"
Image1.Picture = LoadPicture(LValue4)
Now when it is clicked the name of the image being displayed in image control1 would be Car.jpg
And it is this value I wish to transfer to a text box for now will do more with it later
In addition to this I am not sure if the best idea is to have a number of image controls and load each with an individual picture or have one image control and swap the picture by clicking a command button
Is there a way to have image box display an image with a name matching data from a cell? example: if I type "hello" in cell a1, Image box will load image named "hello". And display new images by changing the name in cell a1. Note: the images will be located in a permanent folder.
I am attempting to navigate to a webpage using IE. I have been successful at getting to the appropriate webpage.
However, I would like to open a link within the webpage in the browser in another window(Which is an image). Copy the image then paste it back into excel. I have been successful at opening the webpage using a Userform.
Code: Sub Anthro() Application.ScreenUpdating = False Set ie = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application") With ie .Visible = True
[Code] .......
The user input number for example:
If the user inputs the number 25423310 into the txtbox then it navigates to a certain webpage.
On this webpage and all other webpages where different #'s are used are very similar. The number (25423310) is always used to identify an image. However it has more characters. For example the image is always on line 30 of the HTML code. On this example the HTML code lists the image as:
The number used in the txtbox to naviagete to the URL Ex: 25423310) is always within line 30 of code in HTML. Is it possible to run a query or parse this line of code and direct ie to open this image in a new window then copy and paste it based on the criteria of the user input? Ex. 25423310?
Code: Sub PropInfo() Dim appIE As SHDocVw.InternetExplorer Set appIE = New SHDocVw.InternetExplorer Dim varTables, varTable
I am trying to display an image ("image") on an image control ("Image1") placed in a worksheet ("Sheet1"). The problem is that I want this action to take place when I press a button in a user form. I am trying to use the following code, but it seems that VBA does not recognize the image control ("Image1") in the worksheet.
Private Sub cmdDisplayImage_Click() Dim image As Variant image = ThisWorkbook.Path & "sun.jpg" Sheets("Sheet1").Activate Image1.Picture = LoadPicture(image) End Sub
I have written a code for reading the excel and capturing the content as an image but now i want to paste the captured content into another sheet of the same excel and want to add new column in the same captured image?
Is it possible to add a column in the captured image?
With this msg i am attaching one excel. I have the data on the basis of "image wise files data", but where how to get "record wise image numbers", i am unknown on this.
When i have an excel sheet opened and hit ctrl +f the find replace window displays. I want to add a button on spreadsheet that when i click on it, the find and replace window appears, I can not figure out how to do this. I tried using .onkey
i have tried using the letter M as a shortcut key (because it is to activate a "Move" function) but unfortunately it doesn't work. I gather from this that not all of the keys are available as shortcut keys presumably because they already have function.
Is there a way around this? and/or is there a list somewhere of the available shortcut keys?
Need way to list the active shortcut keys? I know there are manyy lists of the desfault shortcuts, buit I'm trying to generate a list of the curreently active shortcut keys & what macros they tie to. I have a vague recollection that someone had a VBA means of doing this, but I cannot find it in the forums I've searched.
Is it possible to launch a program through desktop shortcut with VBA? I have the following code and it is giving me an 'Invalid procedure call or argument' error Edit: Typing the string into the Run command works fine.
Dim objWsh As Object, _ strDesktop As String
Set objWsh = CreateObject("WScript.Shell") strDesktop = objWsh.SpecialFolders("Desktop") & "Wildfire 3.0.lnk"
I have an Excel add-in that makes use of an Application-level event handler to detect when workbooks are activated / deactivated, and adjusts the command bars / ribbon accordingly. The add-in also includes a developer mode, so I have a shortcut key to stop the add-in while running, set the .IsAddIn property =False, and then change whatever settings I feel that I need to.
Problem is, when I run the shortcut to stop the add-in, and then run my shortcut to restart it, my event handling no longer works. I've done some MsgBox testing, and verified that the class module's "Initialize" event gets called, but subsequent events (i.e. WorkbookActivate) go unnoticed.
I'm wondering if Excel will allow me to start an Application event handler using WithEvents, stop it (by setting the class module variable = Nothing), and then re-start the event handling.
The one thing that has always bugged me about Excel is that in order to modify an existing cell, I need to click on the cell and then click in the formula box above. If I want to overwrite the contents of the cell, I can just start typing, but if I want to edit it, I need to use the mouse. It really seems like like Alt-D should move up to this window like it does in Internet Explorer. I can move around Most Windows applications without need of a mouse save for this one area.
i need to create a shortcut (ideally ctrl-z) that will allow me to search column D which has a tonne of street names in it. i need to do a "custom" search and enter "contains" and then have the field on the right be left empty for me to enter what i need to enter.
I want to hit ctrl-z (or a b c d e f g h etc...) and have that blank field brought up for my to enter something to search for and have all those criteria met "custom-contain-?whatitype?"
I've tried using the record new macro function but it won't let me leave the dialogue box open for me to enter my street name.
i hope i explained that well enough....
basically i want to hit ctrl-z and have that custom-contains for column d open and ready for me to search.
autofilter is on. and i am referring to the drop down menu that lists "top 10" "all" and "custom" i want to chose custom and then chose "contains" from the first drop down menu in the dialog box that pops up.
I am looking for a shortcut key or some fast way of getting to the last line of information on a excel spreadsheet.
I currently have order spreadsheets with over 10000 lines used and everyday I need to add more lines and if I have used the Shift+F to locate an old order then I can be say sat on line 40 but my last inputted text could be on line 7000 and I would like to know how I can get to that line without knowing the line number.
The shortcut must take me to the last text entered cell not the last cell on the worksheet.
