In Excel 2003, I built a small form with only a text box in the form that says "Thinking...Please wait! When I call it from code using:

the form displays, and my code continues, but the text box on the form is not displayed.
I have a sub that is called when the user clicks a button on the form.
The sub takes a few seconds to run, so I have created a userform which contains a single label, which simply says "working ... please wait" in large letters.
A code example is as follows:

Seems simple enough, but what actually happens is that the PleaseWait userform is displayed, but contains nothing (i.e. blank white - the contents is not being rendered). I'm guessing that I need to call something on the userform to force it to render its contents after the modeless call to show it. How can I do that?
I have an application where by the user only sees userforms which then writes the data to the back end worksheets. So the Menu or front useform I have set at vbModeless, which also means that the user can now open up or use an already opened spreadsheet. I believe I am correct in saying you can't do this if the userform is modal. Anyway this is what the user wants, i.e to be able work on multiple spreadsheets, whilst my app is open. The problem is when they click on one of the other open spreadsheets and then click one of the buttons on my application, you get an error.
I believe is because I use code such as
frmMetrics.Show
Where I haven't specified the actual workbook, so excel doesn't know where to go to find the userform. So how do I specify the workbook, without constantly having to change the line, when version numbers changes ?

Background: I currently have an some VBA code that will kick off a series of calculations on a remote server (7 calcs). I am showing a modeless form, to allow the user to continue to work in Excel while the external calculation is taking place. The code checks every few seconds (using .OnTime) to check the status of the calcs, and as one finishes, it starts the next calc, and updates the form (ie - "Running Calc #3 of 7", etc).

Problem: when I change the label on the form, it gives the form focus. So, if the user is in the middle of doing something, they are suddenly stopped, and have to click back on the spreadsheet to continue.
Questions: Is there a way to update content (label) on a form, without that form getting focus? If not, is there another way to provide updated feedback without disrupting what the user is doing? My fallback is to simply not update the form with progress reports, but since the calcs can take 5min or so, it would be good if they knew things were progressing.
I am using a technique to display a modeless userform to display to the user that the cell data validation has failed (or not) after checking cell data entry (with checks coded as required).
I am using this method for a number of reasons -
- enables more flexibility and more characters over that of in cell data validation error messages
- to reduce repeat of validation data (to reduce file size) as worksheet has large qty of rows with large qty of columns with variation of validation requirements for each column.
But in the event that data is invalid (fails validation), once the modeless userform is displayed, i want the focus to be on the current cell, not the userform, otherwise the user will always have to click the worksheet to to get focus to enable entry to cell of corrected data.
On opening of my WorkBook I refresh my PivotTable and that takes a while so while its refreshing. So I want to launch a UserForm that basically have a loop showing progress bar similar than the Windows loading bar (i.e. a set of green vertical green bars moving in a black rectangle).

I call a userform (modeless), and then i'm trying to set the focus back on the range that was selected when i showed the userform. you would think i could just define the range and then use rnge.select like this....

but it doesn't take the focus off the userform....

The problem is when excution the code step by step (F8) works fine, but when excution the code by F5 the cursor moves to the Range("A65536").End(xlUp) and doesnot then move to the required column.

I have a spreadsheet full of site codes which should be the format:
AA1111
or
A1111
Where A = any alpha character & 1 = any numeric character
unfortunately the staff entering the code nearly always miss leading zeros off the numeric part of the site code.
At the moment I manually correct this. Is there a better way to do this?
I've written a very simple script to replace carriage return characters with <br> tags (so I can use the output in html pages) - however for some reason when I loop the script down the cells, it ignores certain cells and works perfectly on the rest.
The only 'variable' I can spot is that the ones it misses tend to be longer cells with more text (the one's that failed were 938 characters and 910 I think).
Can anyone tell me if there is a limit on how big a cell VBA can process and if so, how I can work around this? Is it possible to load and parse each character one by one in VBA or something?

I have two columns which i want to compare, they contain text data such as A123.
what I'd like is if its in column A and not in Column B then add to bottom of column A.
Once its in column A i can do the vlookup's to draw the other data, costs etc, over but don't know how to identify, and add, the missing codes to the list.
I have an Excel workbook with around 100 worksheets. All of them have similar columns, but the values are stored as text. The length of columns and missingness is different in different worksheets. I will be grateful if any of you could suggest a VBA that could convert the numbers stored as text back to numbers. I have been looking for an answer for a while, but cant seem to find one that automatically looks at every worksheet and converts text into number.

Text Wrap in TextBox within an Excel form. I can’t get text to wrap within a textbox even though the “Wrap” option is selected for “True” in the textbox properties. The textbox value is from a cell that has text within it. The textbox code is: Me.txtC1 = Format(Worksheets("Data").Range("T46"), "0")

I am wondering if one can force a Modal UserForm to become Modeless after loading the UserForm.
Load the Userform as Modal => Click on a CommandButton on the Userform => The Userform now becomes Modeless.
I have created a form to be filled out with different locations such as shipping address, scope of work, start date, completed date, etc. I was wondering if there was a way I can lock the format of the form, but still allow people to enter text into it? 1. I have text message on Excel Sheet 1. I have designed a form that has Multiple Check Boxes. Primary, CO-applicant and Co-signer vertically placed. And I have 3 Check Boxes that have been placed Horizontally Alerts, Public records and Mismatch Information.

I recently created a userform. I want the data to be placed into the leftheader, centerheader, and rightheader of the document after the user fills in the required fields. I have made the userform, and I can make the code for it to place one item on my userform in the left, center, or right headers. However, when I try to place more than one item in any of the headers excel deletes the first item and overwrites it with the item that is listed last in the VBA code for that respective header. I am new to VBA (this is actually my first program) so I do not know how to make the first value stay there and simply have the next value placed on the line below it.

I would like to create a spreadsheet that when a selected number of cells are set to "yes" then a lookup to a small table should then copy 3 columns of text at the side of that table, if the criteria is met with a "1". If either f2, f3 or F4 = "Yes" then look up A9:c16 and if there is a "1" in respective column then copy all text to the right in columns D, E & F to "result" work sheet. I am trying to create auto copy of selected data without the use of a filter, by pressing a cell / button.

When the user clicks "OK" the form closes and changes the cell based on the user's input (i.e. Red, "N/A"). I want only the double cliked cell to change color and text.
Problem: My code runs fine, but I cannot find a way to let the form change the text of the cell. Only the color is changing. I have tried calling the cell out in the code, but I get an error. I cannot find a way to change the text in the cell.

Rather than have 40 of these blocks of code (one for each text box), is it possible to somehow group them so that a block of code is applicable to all of them?
For the sake of arguement, the textboxes are called data1 up to data40
