I have seen one of your posts in which you make a graph update based on dynamic named ranges. Here is my problem, I already defined the name of my ranges as:
ChurnDiario =OFFSET(Clientes!$E$25,0,0,1, COUNTA(Clientes!$E$25:$AH$25))
Ejex =OFFSET(Clientes!$E$8,0,0,1,COUNTA(Clientes!$E$8:$AH$8))
The issue is that when I tried to enter the values and category (x) axis with:
Values: =offset(ChurnDiario,0,0)
Category (X) axis labels: = offset(Ejex,0,0)
On both, excel replies “That function is not valid”. I’ve tried, but still can’t make it work.
I recorded a macro where a xyscatter graph is produced with markers connected by lines.
Is there a way to change to to force the graph to be a xyscatter graph without lines?
I have an issue with pivot charts that I can't figure out and I can't find anyone with the same problems either. I have several big reports that use data from 2005 onwards that need to be represented on graphs separated by the city the data belongs to and different ranges of the results. This data is being sourced from inside each workbook on another tab and turned into a series of pivot tables (for each city) which provides the source for the charts. I did it like this because if I use pivot graphs I don't have to go through and individually change the data source range in the charts every time - because there are so many.
My problem is that when I refresh the pivot tables (to bring in the new data) the pivot charts 'chart type' resets. They should be represented in a Line - Column on 2 Axes chart and I have set this as the defult type but after refreshing it reverts to a basic column graph and I have to go through and change them all back manually. I made a macro that acts on a currently selected chart to change the format to make this process a bit faster:
I am trying to figure out a way in excel to graph some data I have in a new, sophisticated type of chart. My data is new square foot sales divided by new square feet (for a retail store). It is a dollar amount. I also have this data as a percentage change year over year. If I want to compare two stores with different data -- what would be the best way to present it on a chart. Is there a way to show this on a 3-D plane so that both companies have the data in the same chart up against each other?

Column A: Time in seconds (1,2,3,4,5.... so on) continuously in equal intervals.
Column B: Values Generated by my machine at each second (random values)
Column C: Values generated based on column B using a formula (Let formula be denoted by " F ").
Column D: Highest possible value of calculation on column B (With +ve error consideration in formula "F")
Column E: Least possible value of calculation on column B (With -ve error consideration in formula "F")
Two graphs need to be generated as follows:
Graph 1:
X Axis: time values ( From Column A )
Y Axis: Corresponding machine generated values from Column B
Graph 2: Envelope
X Axis: time values ( From Column A )
Y Axis: Both value of column D & E ( Time value 1 sec has two corresponding values, one from Column D and one from Column E)
Both values of Column D and E be plotted and the area between two lines generated by upper limit and lower limit (Column D and E respectively)
So for both, what chart types should I select, and how do I assign that particular column to that particular axis only.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have made a simple procedure (which will extend to make something that I have to make but for time being) it asks user to select a chart type in a userform using option buttons and then the chosen chart type is taken as the chart type and makes the chart.
problem is that the typechart - variable to identify the chosen chart type - is not being recognised. Here's the coding, the variable is not passed (in yellow bolded) from one procedure to another?

I'm using a stacked bar chart (in Excel 2010, running on Windows 7) to create a simple Gantt-type chart - with just four or five bars. I've got my chart looking most of the way I want it to, but one thing still eludes me: I'd like to set up the major axis ticks to be quarters of the year (from 1/1/2011 to 4/1/2013). Since quarters are not regular intervals (they are not exactly every 90 days), I can't do this using Excel's standard functionality for choosing axis tick marks.

I'm trying to write a function that I can pass an array along with the data I want added to that array. The function will resize the array, put the data into it and return the new array. Example:

As 2 dimensional arrays are Base 1, the challenge I have is getting it to resize (redim preserve) the array when it has to add the first record. I thought I could just use an IsArray function to test if there had been any data added. If not, then it would run the following...........

I am trying to write a function that grabs the value of some cells in a column and returns a String array with those values. I am getting a compiler error on the line where I assign a value to an array element. It appears to be assuming that rather than an array reference, I am trying to do a recursive call to the function. The error is "Function call on left-hand side of the assignment must return Object or Variant." I would have done this with by assigning the range directly to the array but the data is in a column rather than a row; don't know of a more elegant way to do it.

In 2006 posting, this code was presented to the Forum. It works perfectly for a one dimension Crosstab. I have 4 dimensions that I need copied to the output.
I have attempted to modify the code, but nothing appears to adjust the pull of more than the first column of dimension data.

Is there any way to do this part of code without calling out each element individually?:

how to incorporate another category and value axis to my existing chart.
1. I need to add a rank axis derived from my data column (C6-C15). This column should rank from highest to lowest and create a tie if any number is repeated. I have arranged the rank column in cells B38:L38 as they would appear. I would like this to appear on the top or bottom of the bar graphs.
2. Second I need to add the frequency of hits which = 3 derived from cell J1 This should appear on the chart were it is currently titled. This should create another bar graph colored green and labeled 3.
3. Lastly the numbers axis can remain the same as it appears on the chart or if it would be better to align as shown in cells B43:L43.

I created an add-in for Excel 2003 by following your site's instructions, substituting my own subroutine's name for "MyGreatMacro" (for the purposes on testing all it does is spit out a MsgBox). I then put the resulting xla file on a network drive and went through the standard process for installing an Addin :
Tools -> Addins -> Browse for the file and hit ok, check it off, etc
This works perfectly fine when i try to install on my own machine, but when I try on other user's machines I get an error message stating that the xla file is not a valid Addin. Excel's error message in this case is about as unhelpful as they come.
I have list of various web site and i want to keep only valid site . How it is possible ?

i have a customer (im a computer tech, but excel is not my specialty) that has a weird problem with her most important file. She meant well, but tried to back up a 2.6 MB file to a floppy disk, and after it told her the disk was full, she was unable to open the file again in excel. (File Format Is Not Valid) It will, however, open in word, with the data there. Its in an unusable format, as there were 12 different worksheets (one for every month), all on the one page of MS Word. Better than nothing, but still will take weeks to reenter properly. I searched for a repair utility and had one that seemed to work, but only put a "0" in column A row 8. A far cry from what we are looking for. Ive also run a disk recovery program in the hopes of finding an older version of the file, but came up empty.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a textbox (on a userform) that populates into a spreadsheet. the way I have it set up the user enters a time, but omits the semicolon, and a macro adjusts the time to show the semi colon in the spreadsheet, that is working great. But what I would like to do is to use a textbox change event to force the user to enter a valid time using a 24 hour clock. I have the textbox set to accept numbers from 0 to 2400, using the textbox change event but this allows the user to enter an invalid time such as "1575" basically anthing above 59 for the last 2 digits would be invalid.
