fName = Sheets("StartHere").Cells(3, 3)

queWhere = Sheets("StartHere").WhereCombo1.Value
Query1 = Sheets("StartHere").Cells(12, 3)

Select Multiple Sheets And If Value In Cell Is True Then Copy Values In All Sheets And Hardcode Data

Pass Parameter From Excel Through MS Query To MS Access Query

Nov 26, 2012

I have an MS Access query that contains a parameter. The parameter is a date field, and I have configured that in the Access query. If I run the query within the MS Access user interface, it prompts me for the paramater value as expected, and runs just fine. However, I want to connect to this query from within Excel as a data source.

I have created a connection to the Access file using ODBC from within Excel. In the MS Query window, I am merely selecting all of the fields resident in the MS Access query, and returning all values. In other words, there is no selection criteria in the MS Query. I have done this many times with Access queries that DO NOT contain a parameter, and everything works fine. However, in this instance, I need to pass a parameter through to MS Access in order for the query to run. At the moment, I get the "Too Few Paramaters...1 expected" error message. This makes sense, because I haven't figured out how to pass the paramater to MS Access.

Is there a way to structure this that does not involve VB code? If so, I'd love to know how. I have tried creating parameters in MS-Query with the same name, but although I get the prompt it doesn't connect with the Access query as the source for the parameter value.

If the solution requires using code, I'm good with VB Code in Excel...is there VB for Excel code that could make this happen?

Failing that, I guess there must be (I've seen a few in my search thus far) Access VB Code that can make this work. I'm very rusty using VB with Access, so this is my least favored solution. However, if this is the only option, keep in mind that I need to pass the paramater ultimately from a user who will initiate the process using Excel.

Query An Access Query With VBA Function

The query in Excel looks like:

I use the following VBA code in Excel to excecute the query:

With ThisWorkbook.Worksheets(cDataSheetName).QueryTables.Add(Connection:=strConnection, _
Destination:=ThisWorkbook.Worksheets(cDataSheetName).Range("A1"), Sql:=strQuery)
.RowNumbers = True
.Refresh BackgroundQuery:=False
iResultRowCount = .ResultRange.Rows.Count
End With
When I execute this code I get the error message 'SQL Syntax Error' (Error 1004). When I remove the VBA function from the query in Access, it all works fine.

Vba To Copy Sheets And Name Them

Sep 16, 2009

I'm very new to vba and I'm trying to copy a sheet called "Data" several times and I want each new copy to take it's name from a list of names which I have in a sheet called "Names". The code below seems to work fine, but the problem that I’m facing is that if I run the macro again and a sheet name already exists then I get an error massage. So I want to modify the code below, so that before creating each new copy, it checks for the name to be given to that new copy, and if the sheet exists then skip creating that copy and goes to the next one.

(The "Names" sheet contains the list of names, with the first name is in cell A1, second name in A2, A3,....)

Copy Between Sheets

Oct 26, 2009

I have data in Sheet1 of the Excel sheet. I want to copy the content of Column C & D of Sheet1 into Sheet2 using a macro.

I am able to do using below logic (But i think there is a simple logic):
Get the Last record count of Col C
For i=1 to Last
sheet2.columns(r,c)=sheet1.columns(i,3)
Next i

Since I am using for loop, it takes long time if the data is huge.
Could you please let me know whether my approach is good or there exists a simpler method.

Copy Each Row Associated With Name To New Sheets

Columns A & B describes the ID number of the task, Column C describes the Task itself, Columns D to J are hidden, Column K describes the author of the task. Column L is the one that have the name (or names) of the person who is in charge of doing that task. What I need to do is to create a macro that searches the name of that person in Column L and once it finds it it will create another sheet with the name of that person. And add to that sheet the entire row of his task.

How To Copy And Paste Whole Sheets

I've got a file with 75 sheets. Each sheet consists of a fairly elaborate header (logo, other design elements, etc.) and columns of data. I'd like to remove each sheet from this "master" file and copy it to its own file. But when I do this, the formatting is all screwed up- the logo and designs are distorted. I tried to adjust the row width and column height to fix it, but it doesn't come out the same (plus it takes forever). Is there a fast and easy way to copy each sheet onto its own file sheet?
