Copy 2 Linked Sheets Without Links To Original Sheets
Sep 5, 2007
I have copied and then pasted & linked numerous cells from one sheet to another within the same workbook. When I copy the 2 sheets (Edit>Move or Copy Sheet>Create Copy) the linked cells on the duplicates remain linked to the original sheet. How can I copy the 2 sheets and have the cells on the copied sheet be linked to the copied sheets and not the original?
I have links between Excel files and Word files. I use these files for multiple projects. When I copy them and paste them to a new folder the new files would be linked together. For some reason this has stopped. Now when I copy, the Word file has links to the original document, not to the copied document.
I would like to use VBA to search a folder and copy data from tabs within the excel files there. The data will be pasted to a tab of same name in the the main file. All the files are in the same format.
So far I have only managed to list the files in the folder using code I found on your site!
I have a workbook that updates from external source and creates sheets depending on a cell range.
I have put tab 1 and tab 0 on either end of where the new sheets will be inputted, will never know how many sheets
What i need to happen is if someone fills in "complete" in A7 in my "summary" sheet then the values in row 6 in all the other sheets get hardcoded. This needs to happen from A7 down to A26, so A8 = complete then copy row 7 etc This is what i have so far
I get compile error here ........Sheets(ArrSh(1)).Activate
Also need it to work for all the other rows.
Sub hardcode() ' 'Sheets("Summary"). Select If Range("a7") = "complete" Then ' Sheets(Array("1", "0")).Select Sheets(ArrSh(1)).Activate
how to setup the original RAG shapes in order to replicate the feature in other s'sheets.
If you drag away from one of the RAG shapes, it takes a copy of the shape but leaves the original shape intact. It seems to be locked in place, but there are no macros or VBA code doing it.
I have a workbook with 26 sheets, labelled A to Z. Column A in all the sheets have names from rows A6:A35.
I need a macro or a code to extract all the names from each of the 26 sheets and paste it to a new sheet 'Names' under column A, such that names starting with 'B' paste under all the names 'A' and so forth till 'Z'.
I created 14 spreadsheets for each of my call center agents to monitor their metrics. I password protected all then placed the originals on the network. The 14 sheets have 1 cell within them that are linked up to their relevant agent cell in a separate spreadsheet. This spreadsheet is located on the network and automatically updates every hour.
I have monitored the the spreadsheets and updates etc for a while now and everything seemed to be working perfect. So I decided to slowly roll it out by placing a shortcut on 3 agents desktops. I quickly discovered that they were not seeing any updates as I had seen prior to the roll out. I go to the folder within the network and check all spreadsheets and I see all spreadsheets working and updating successfully.
So I thought maybe it was because they were password protected. I removed the protection and the 3 agents saw their spreadsheets update successfully on their computers, the next hour as I had hoped BUT the hour following however they did not see a further update again.
I work for a production hombuilder and I am developing a schedule to track community development. We have over 20 communities that we will need to use the sheet that I have devised to track progress. Is there a way that I can somehow create a link to an individual sheet within the workbook for easy navigation?
The alternative I believe would be to just have all of the communities on one sheet but have to scroll down a number of rows to display the timelines.
I have workbook #1 sheet1 that is linked to a master workbook sheet1. The master workbook has a bunch of sheets. I need to make copy of my sheet1 in workbook #1 and change the links from a sheet1 in my master workbook.
So for example, if my worksheet in workbook#1 is linked to master workbook in worksheet1 tab1, i want to make a copy of my sheet in workbook#1 but now have it linked to tab2 in the master workbook.
I know i can just highlight and do a find replace right? Is there a faster way to do this because i have a bunch of sheets.
sheet 1 have simple values, for example cell A1:5 Cell A3: 10 Cell A5:15 Cell A7:20 Cell A9:25 Cell A11:30 Cell A13:35 Cell A15:40
In sheet 2 i have the following formulas: Sheet 2 Cell A1: =Sheet1!A1+Sheet1!A3 Sheet 2 Cell A2: =Sheet1!A5+Sheet1!A7
I need to respect this sequence when copying these 2 formulas in the same sheet 2 cell A3, however when I do that I get the following formula: =Sheet1!A3+Sheet1!A5. While i need it to sum up A9 and A11. i.e respect the order of the first 2 formulas.
I'm creating an excel sheet that is linked to several others. Basically my salesmen will enter their new prospects into their own sales sheets and that will transfer via a link to my main one. The problem I'm having is mainly with my sort.
When the information is transferred, I need the sheet to auto sort the Company names alphabetically and move any blank cells to the bottom.
I'm using links to pull our sales prospects from our salesmen's individual sheets into one master sheet for reference. Once the prospect information arrives in the sheet, I need it to sort alphabetically by customer name so that we can see which customers have been visited and don't visit the same customer twice.
So far in VB, I've been working on this
Private Sub Worksheet_SelectionChange(ByVal Target As Range) Range("A5:L" & Cells(Rows.Count, "L").End(x1Down).Row).Sort Key1:=Range("B6"), Order1:=xlAscending, Header:= _ xlGuess, OrderCustom:=1, MatchCase:=False, Orientation:=xlTopToBottom, _ DataOption1:=xlSortNormal End Sub
But it's not sorting the way that I need to. All I really need is for the sheet to sort automatically by Company Name and for all of the 0's to go to the bottom. They are 'blank' data that will eventually be imported from the salesmen's individual sheets as they encounter new customers.
I have multiple sheets on which users enter data in Cells B3 to B21 on each sheet.
I have a master sheet where the information entered on individual sheets is copied by links. On the master sheet the information is displayed in Rows. Thus data on Sheet1 B5:B25 is displayed in Row 6 cells H6:Z6 of Master Sheet, data on Sheet2 is displayed in Row 7 cells H7:Z7 etc. The formula in H6 of the Master Sheet is =Sheet1!B5, in H7 it is =Sheet2!B5 etc. It is of course not possible to use Autofill to copy formulas across on the Master sheet. It can be done manually but there are hundreds of cells to fill.
Is there an elegant way to copy the formulae on individual sheets onto the Master Sheet.
I want to be able to repeat the procedure later if additional sheets need to be added.
I have a workbook with about 200 sheets. Each sheet contains lots of links to the other sheets, so the user can clink the link and then go to the new sheet.
But, how do I make a "return-function"? That can return the user to the sheet that was active before the link was followed? If possible I would like this do be doable for 5-10 sheets back.
This "return-function" is gonna be used by clicking a button on a floating toolbar I have connected to the sheet.
The situation is that I have created a workbook in a network folder: xprojectsexcelclientAApril umbers
The workbook links to a few other workbooks on the same network, but in the parent folder: xprojectsexcelclientAApril
The problem occurs when my colleagues have to updates the links in the main workbook, because they have not mapped the network drive in the same way as I have. The problem is NOT the prefix, but the fact that they have a more direct link to the network folder. My collages have mapped the folder like: xclientAApril Is there a way where I can make the links in the workbook, so they don't depend on the entire string, but only on the fact that it is in the parent folder?
The sheet is actually being added to the workbook, seemingly before the error. I resume the code, and a new sheet is placed in the workbook and it errors again. The Debugger stops and highlights on the code above. The sheet count number was 10895 at the error, just as an indicator of how many times the simulation has performed successfully. I am hoping this is something I can fix without having to start over...
I have 25 sheets in the workbook and a combobox on the main page, The combobox references a range of 1-25 that represents the 25 hidden pages. right now i can get the sheets to unhide one at a time based on the selection e.g. combobox option 1 will unhide sheet 1 but the sheet are representing sites in a design so i need to have the option to select multiple sites in the combobox option so for example if i select 5 then sheets 1-5 should unhide. I hope I've explained that clearly.
The other question or option would be to just duplicate sheet 1 based on the combobox selection e.g. selection 5 duplicates sheet 1 5 times.
I have received following macro from someone to delete series but the problem is that it gives error when some sheets are protected, and I want those sheets to protected. When run it will ignore/leave protected sheets but delete series only from unprotected sheets
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click() Dim Rng As Range, i As Long, r As Range, lVal, uVal Dim DeleteCount As Double Dim lRow As Long Dim dr As Long Dim dc As Long dc = Sheets("Deleted Numbers").UsedRange.Columns.Count - 1 dr = Cells(Rows.Count, Sheets("Deleted Numbers").UsedRange.Columns.Count - 1).End(xlUp).Row + 1 If dr = 60001 Then ................
on sheet1 I have a button I need to do the following when clicked: (1) name the next 30 sheets based on cell values in sheet1 (2) for those 30 sheets, hide some of them based on a y/n input in sheet 1
To clarify: the worksheets do not need to be created, they already exist. They just need to be renamed and hidden based on that y/n criteria. see attachment with just 1 worksheet for clarification. So - The next 30 sheets are to be named by the following ranges (B7:B16), (B21:B30) and (B35:B44). For every product with a "n" in column C of sheet1, the worksheet for that product needs to be hidden.
I have merged 336 individual spreadsheets into one book, now I want to merge the data in all the sheets into 1 individual sheet. All the sheets have the same size and range, I need to copy a constant range(row, column) from all the different sheets into one.
i wanna copy C and D columns in Sheet1 and insert these 2 columns (copy + insert copy cells function, not copy + paste) to all other sheets except Infopage sheet
I want to create a hyperlink to a sheet named "adsf"
I am currently in a worksheet named: "62b Arcus"
I want the hyperlink to be set by grabbing the name from another cell.
For example, In cell h7, I have the text: adsf
In cell g7, I want to place a formula such as: =HYPERLINK("adsf!")
Except, instead of this, I want: =HYPERLINK("h7!")
In this way, i want it to hyperlink to a sheet name based on the text that is in h7.
But neither of these formulas work. Both say the following: "Cannot Open the Specified File"
After reading up on this I have discovered that I must save the file and include the file name inside the formula.
My file name is: [Maintenance Color Codes of Houses - colour coded2.xlsm] =HYPERLINK("[Maintenance Color Codes of Houses - colour coded2.xlsm]adsf!A1","LINK")
This hyperlink actually works. Yet I have a problem. What if I rename the file. For this reason, I want it to grab the current file name using "filename". I have tried this by the following:
I know that I have probably created a ridiculous formula for what I am after. I'm almost there but not quite. You may know something far, far more simple.
I run into is that many of our staff don't know there are tabs at the bottom of the page that show different worksheets. writing some VBA code that would grab the names of all the sheets and create a single sheet with the tabs listed as buttons that would hyperlink to each sheet of it's given name. Kind iof an index for the sheets.
Also bonus if 3 rows could be insterted on each of those pages with a button that links back to the index page.
I'm editing some else's workbook. He has a button on sheet 1 that creates sheets 2 ad 3. I can see and edit his old code. I need to add a differet button to these sheets and 3. I can easily do this once those pages are created, but I need those buttons to come up as the sheets are created from the button on sheet 1. T
