Dec 23, 2009I'm verrry new to editing VBA code and I've been trying to figure out how to send a column of data ("Min Data" AB3:AB21 from "Sheet1") to a worksheet ("F4" - Min) and sending another column of data ("Max Data" AC3:AC21 from "Sheet1") to a different worksheet ("F4" - Max) by using only the one button ("Record Data" from "Sheet1"
I've been trying to figure out ways to edit the VBA in "Module 1" to make this work
Can anyone help me out here? If what i'm asking for isn't clear enough, just let me know and i'll try to explain in more detail.
How To Assign Macros On All Files In Sub Folders
Apr 13, 2014I have my main directory C:Perinatal Within that directory I have folders that contain results for each medical conditions (see attachments)
Within each subdirectory are 6 workbooks with (untidy) data results, all the same format just different numbers for each analysis. I want my MAIN_MACRO to loop through every single .xls file in the C:Perinatal, cleaning up the data of all files, and then saving.
I can use the following code to cycle through each folder one at a time, however, I'd like to loop through every subdirectory of
C:Perinatal instead to speed up the process, rather than having to change the path for each subfolder (e.g. C:PerinatalCANCERALL). Is this possible?
If this isn't possible how can I create a 'MyPaths' list and loop through all those directories.

Excel 2010 :: How To Assign RELATIVE Macros To Custom Ribbon
Aug 19, 2014I currently have an excel workbook (2010) in which I created a custom ribbon and assigned several different macros to the buttons.
Long story short, I will be saving several variations of this workbook every so often when I get new data.
The problem is that if I change the name of the file (Save as or Rename), the custom ribbon buttons no longer work. When I assigned the macros to the ribbon buttons, the macros were absolutely assigned.
Is it possible to assign relative macros to custom ribbons?
From research I have done, it appears that custom ribbons cannot be created using VBA. Is this still true?

Nov 22, 2005I have to modify 2000 files so I've written a master file that loops through a list, importing modules and forms into the 2000 files it opens and closes. On each file when open it draws a button on worksheet. I then want to assign a macro to the button called "ModifyMenu" . The code for 'Modifymenu' is imported into file_01.xls and is a unique name. It does not exist is master.xls, so no confusion.
The code for assigning the code is as follows :

(This links to master. MAster is the active code even though 'file_01.xls' is the active worksheet)
Variations on the above seem to result in the same 1004 error or linking back to master regardless of the fact I'm trying to link to file_01.xls.

This works fine, my only problem is if the button that is created is actually named Button2 or 3, etc. Is there a way to assign the new button to a variable, or would it be an object? this way it wouldn't matter what it was named.

Feb 13, 2014Sheet 2 contains a drop down list containing names, would like to assign a Macro to a button on same sheet that would refer to sheet 3 based on certain criteria.
Sheet 3 contains columns A - K of data. 2 criteria, data in column D and column K. Column D would be the same as names in the drop down list, whereas column K refers to a constant, either y or n.
Example: If D contains "Cheddar" and K contains "Y", copy and paste A:K to Sheet1, preferably starting at row 7.

However, when I go to Tools->Macros->Macros, none of my macros (whether coded in VB or recorded) have the "Options..." button enabled, so I can't assign the macro. This happens whether I use Excel 2003 or Excel 2007. The file is not readonly and I have tried the various levels of macro security. I have VBA installed.

Also, I don't think someone would identify the document by the name of the macro because I have a foul way of naming my mac's. Putting Enable Macros Button Into Userform Type Display

In this workbook I have successfully made it act like a userform calculator, the user does not ever see the actual sheets in the workbook, their only interface is the Userform calculator I created.
This is exactly how I want it, they do not need to see the sheets, nor do I want them to.
This leads me only to my next problem... Some of the users obviously wont have Macros automatically enabled, what I am wondering is, is there a way to put the normal "Enable Macros" button which appears along the top of a macro containing workbook when opened, I want to put this button into a userform like display without showing the workbook at all.
So here the process I envision:
1. User double clicks the file
2. It opens and automatically goes invisable (like it does already)
3. If the user does not have macro enabled, a userform like box appears and says "Please enable Marcros to user" with a button below for "Enable" and "Exit"
4. If exit is pressed excel closes
5. If enabled is pressed Macros are enabled and then they will automatically see my calculator userform like normal.
As you see, at no point do I want them to see excel or a workbook, just userforms so its not like they are using excel at all.
I have searched around the net and found a few ideas to tackle this, mainly one that has a "Prompt" workbook that shows when macros are disabled, but that is not ideal for me. However perhaps I could just edit this "prompt" code thing for my situation?

Jul 28, 2008I have a user that keeps a maintenance log in an Excel worksheet and sends an updated copy once a week to a board member. Two weeks ago, the board member started complaining that he was prompted to enable/disable macros on opening and became worried when my user stated that no macros were used in the book. He is now concerned that we have sent him a virus.
I know the file is clean because I've scanned it, and when I look at the file in VB, there are no modules or classes present just the Sheets 1-3 and the ThisWorkbook file. None of these objects have any code in them. My user does have some macros in PERSONAL.XLS but they are not used in the workbook in question.
No one else gets the prompt for enabling/disabling macros. Even if I set my security to prompt for any macros, I get no message. I'm convinced that there must be some setting in his Excel that is causing this individual to get this message. Is there anything else other than a macro that would cause this?
