1) I need to add an edit check
2) have a copy of Active Workbook Path stamped onto spreadsheet with date and time to create a visual record of where the file has been saved (described after the code below).
1) I need to verify that two cells (S7 and S9) are not blank before running my code below (=IF(OR(S7<>"",S9<>""),RUN CODE,"You must select your Provider or Division before you can save this document")).
- If both of these cells are blank a message box should notify the user that they must select the provider and/or division before they can continue with the save.
- If one or more of these cells are not blank the code below should run.

I can’t get Excel 2002 to resolve an external reference to a value in another workbook.
If I have the following literal expression in a cell in my active worksheet, it works:
='C:Documents and SettingsMy DocumentsHCSSAC123.xls'!NumSAC
In this case, the contents of the variable NumSAC is copied into the active workbook from another workbook named SAC123. This works fine without the SAC123.xls workbook being active.
But what I really need to do is have Excel reference an expression that I form by concatenating together strings and a cell value (from the active worksheet).
The following expression evaluates to be exactly the literal expression above (which worked), but it doesn’t act as a valid reference.
=”'C:Documents and SettingsMy DocumentsHCS" & $B12 & ".xls'!NumSAC"
The result displayed in that cell is
'C:Documents and SettingsMy DocumentsHCSSAC123.xls'!NumSAC
and not what I want.
If I try to use the INDIRECT function with the above character string, like this,
=INDIRECT(”'C:Documents and SettingsMy DocumentsHCS" & $B12 & ".xls'!NumSAC")
then I get
#REF!
However, if I open the SAC123 workbook (so that it is in the ring of active workbooks), then I get the correct value put into the cell.
The INDIRECT function only works if the referenced workbook is active.
Is there a way of having Excel evaluate a character string as a valid reference without having to have the referenced workbook(s) active?
In my case, I want to have a master active workbook that references over 200 other workbooks.

I would like to save a copy of the workbook that I am working on from time to time with the date and time added i.e. Budget 2009_YYYMMDDhhmmss but I need the original document Budget 2009 to continue to be active and displayed not the date/time stamped backup copy.

I'm creating an Excel template to reduce data entry errors on a file various departments submit with data, and have the VBA code associated with the spreadsheet close to done with one exception - restricting the active worksheet rows to just those with data to avoid having a number of rows with just comma separators. I can find the VALUE of the last active row (see code below,) but I'm trying to find the address of that last active cell, so I can plug that into my ActiveSheet.Range statement. Here's my code. As you'll see, I have the ActiveSheet.Range statement with hard-coded cell addresses. The A8 is the first row following spreadsheet headers, etc, but I'd like to be able to substitute a variable for the ending cell.

Want to Copy a Module(s) to another workbook in a different path and also password protect it at the same time using VBA.
I need to copy some Module(s) from One WorkBook to another using VBA..
I have used the following code to good effect, however my TargetWb is not at the same path, so I need some modification in this code if that's possible and also this VBA Module which is Copied and Pasted in the Target WOrkbook needs to be Password Protected so that it cannot be tampered.

I'm trying to save a copy an excel file in the same directory of the original file. The code is pretty standard but it does not work if the file is stored in C: (only c: ) Is that a bug or am I doing something wrong? Anyways here is the code in case someone is interested in trying it out:

1.How can I save the daily created workbooks (Assume 15 files a day) in order to contain the current date (and time if possible) linked with certain cell(s) I have at my workbook forming the file name? (XYZ 2-4-2014) and/or (ABC 2-4-2014 23:11) and so on …
2.I’ve been through some other posts and I found VB code which saves the active file into specific path, but it is only useful for single workbook because multiple files are getting overwritten automatically. Is there a code which allows multiple/different files saving & creates daily folders?

I run a model in Excel that automatically saves my file every xx iterations. After saving the file I want to make a backup of the file. Tried

I don't want to use .SaveAs as it is a huge file that takes a while to save and SaveAs has a tendency to break links that should not be broken..

I have some vba that opens a closed workbook, copies data from a named range and then pastes it to the active workbook.
However, what is happening is that the closed workbook is opened and only part of the data is pasted. What I would prefer to happen is this:
Open the closed workbook-->copy the named range-->paste(append) to next empty cell in column B.
Heres the code that I have got.

My team and I are attempting to track how much time we are spending in each Excel workbook we create (all workbooks are created from a single template). The problem is that we are often jumping back and forth between different workbooks throughout the day so manual entry methods are neither accurate or practical. Is there a way, with macros or formulas, to embed a time tracker in the template workbook that would only record active (when workbook is selected) time in the workbook?

I am trying to code a Macro so that i can take all the worsheets and save them as individual Workbooks. I wrote a macro that appeared to work, but, after it saves the first sheet as a workbook, i get a debug error.

I am trying to create a macro that will copy any folders that exist in any of the paths listed in the first column. The folders should be copied to the path of the open workbook containing the macro. I am successfully opening a .csv file using a variable value stored in a named range in my Main file (the variable includes the directory and path).
I copy data from the .csv file to the Main file then I need to close the .csv file without saving but I want to do that by using the
Windows("xxxx").Activate
command where "xxxx" is the namedrange in my Main file which stores the .csv filename (without the directory and path prefix).
I can use the
ActiveWindow.ActivatePrevious
command but if I have another workbook open, this one closes instead of the .csv file I opened from the macro.
I realise this is probably very basic and I've searched the forums but can't find any identical postings.

I have a column A with some dates at this format "dd-mm-yyyy hh-mm".
In this list, some hours are missing, and I don't know which ones.
In order to find the missing hours, I created an additional column B, displaying all the hours, this way:
B1=01-01-2006 00:00:00
o
B1=A1
And then : B2=B1+"01:00:00"
Then, in column C, I compare both columns A and B:
C1=IF(Value(B1)=Value(B2),ok,missing)
As a result, I first get some "ok", and then more and more "missing" statements, even though the dates look the same.
I checked the numerical values of my dates. At the first "missing" statement, I saw that there is a slight difference in the numerical values, at small decimals...
Can you tell me how to define my date /time in a good way, in order to avoid this kind of problems, please?
(I could take the int part of the numbers, but this could lead to further errors, so I prefer to define my dates in the right way, from the beginning).

I have a number of files in a directory, with data in columns A:E, and variable rows deep (200-300) that I’d like to copy to the active workbook. I’d like to have a file window open to the same set directory (ie. “CArchives” and be able to select any file in that directory to copy.
Note:
There are 2 separate ranges to copy, which must be done separately because the headings are to be moved 2 columns over - also, there is data in beteen the headings and main data in the active workbook.
Range 1: Two headings cells in A1:B1 get transposed to C1:D1.
Range 2: the files’ data starts at A4 but gets inserted starting at cell A6 of the active workbook.

I have a workbook with macro button to run some vba, if i want the button to disable when the user make copies of the workbook (date created is later than original wb saved time) what codes to add in the VBA?
what i assume is to add the time to a cell when the wb is saved, when the wb opens, it check for that cell if the same with the date created, if different, then disable the macro button.

The following macro does what it is designed to do and needs to be run from a control sheet called "Guide". When I run it from this Guide sheet it stops at around row 53 (out of 1400 rows) on each of the specified sheets in the macro. I have struggled with this problem and have now discovered that the macro will run correctly when run from one of the worksheets specified in the array, e.g. sheet "200 and 100".

I want to create a standard macro that will copy values from a Master workbook to the current, active workbook I have open. The problem I have run into is when I record a macro it also records the name of the active workbook I'm copying data into and I would like it so when I bring up a workbook I just run the macro and it copies the values in. I'll be doing 8 different macros that each copy different values from the Master spreadsheet

I have 400 source files containing (among others) 8 sheets with daily results: "Fri 23", "Mon 26", "Tue 27", "Wed 28", "Thu 29", "Fri 30", "Sat 31 (if applicable)", "Mon 2".
Each sheet contains also:
State - D1
Role - D2
Staff ID - D3
Date - D4
Activity group name in column A (starting from row 8)
Activity type in column B (merged with C and D) (starting from row 8)
Activity time in columns E:GV (starting from row 8). Usually, there is none or only one value in whole range (e.g. E8:GV8). But sometimes there are two values.
Customer ID in row 6 (value appears only if time was reported in E:GV range)
CC Number in row 7 (value appears only if time was reported in E:GV range)
It's all about transferring values from all daily sheets in all files (.xls) sitting in folder C:WADFinal to one simple table (WAD_Consolidation_file.xls, sheet "Consolidated") consisted of 9 columns: Staff ID, Role, State, Date, Activity Group, Activity Type, Minutes, Customer ID, CC Number.
