I want to count the number of unique companies that joined in different months. I have two columns to work with - date [in time stamp/data format] and company name.
DATE
COMPANY NAME
10:42 02/01/14
A
11:33 02/01/14
B
16:14 07/01/14
The results should equal -
Jan 14 - 2
Feb 14 - 2
Mar 14 - 1
The closest I have gotten it to remove duplicates =SUMPRODUCT((B1:B15<>"")/COUNTIF(B1:B15,B1:B15&"")) and to count the months =COUNTIF(A1:A15,"*01/14") but I cant seem to link the two.
I have three companies in column A, In Column B I have a date of when an item was sent to them, in Column C I have the amount of days this item has been out with that company. Is there a formula that will count the number of days an item has been out with one of the companies per month, and find an average if more than 1 item has been sent per month. Two items have been sent to company A in Sep 09, one item has been there 10 days the other 20 days, the answer I would be looking for is 15.
I've got a set of data that I update once a month and the number of team members per team changes all the time. I'm trying to write a formula that basically says, if the date matches AND the manager name matches, count the number of team members.
In the attached sample if A2 and B4 are found in the data set, count the number of SalesReps they have. So I'm looking at Sarah for February 2013, she has two sales reps that sold something, but Katherine appears twice, so I'm not looking for a result of 3, the correct answer is 2. How do I write the formula?
A2 will look to the data range of A14:A23 and SarahK will look to I14:I23, but I want to count H14:23.
I have a signup record that expected to grow up to row 400. On the top, there's a monthly tally for reports. Column B to count the number of boxes taken and Column C for the users picked up the boxes.
Users should be accounted as one appearence in a month, regardless re-appearance in the same month or different month.
I haven't found the generic formula to uniquely count the number of users regardless their frequency in a month.
NOTE: Timings, box numbering format and usenames are randomly generated. Any similarities with real subjects will be coincidence only.
I have a spreadsheet which is to record quality checks on work carried out by staff. The spreadsheet has a customer reference number in column B and a Staff reference number in column C.
I can carry out a number of checks on a member of staff on one transaction, so for instance, I could carry 3 checks on one customer number, which would result in the staff ref number being enetered 3 times (there is 1 check per row).
I need a formula to count the number of checks I carry out on each member of staff. My problem is that although 3 checks could be completed on someone, if it is on the same customer NO, it only counts as 1 check. In effect, I need a formula to count the number of staff ref numbers which have a unique customer number eneterd in the adjacent column.
All the cust numbers are unique so would I be able to use a wildcard?
I'm having a problem with a spreadsheet in Excel. I have in column terras, codti problem and several cells that are repeated. I'm stating that terra appear only once, the information in column each issue should appear in different columns with the sum of how often they appear and codti according to terra.
In excel is best illustrated what I mean!
In total, 5267 lines and need to do this with all. You can do this in excel?
I want to count the number of unique, or distinct, company names in column [C7], subject to two conditions that will exclude certain unique company names from the count.
I should also point out that most company names appear multiple times in column [C7].
a) Count the unique company names in column [C7]...
b) ...including only those companies who have at least one "Yes" in column [C8] somewhere among their records
c) ...and who also have at least one value equal or greater than "1" in column [C15] somewhere among their records
Note that that there is no requirement that the "Yes" and the "1" ever appear in the same record.
I am trying to find a formula that will count the number of unique entries there. I have tried the solutions posted on various websites to no avail (most recently:
I have a list of ID# (Col A) and dates (Col B). The ID # of reference is Col (F) and today's date (Col G). I need to count how many future dates there are in the list (Col B) that are unique and in the future from today's date.
I'm still fairly new to all these formulas and functions which is why I'm not attempting this in VBA.
I've attached an example work book and I would like the result in H2.
If I have multiple entries with different but repeatable text values in one column - how do I count all unique ones ? Is there a function or does it have to be a pivot table of sth ?
I have a spreadsheet with two worksheets, sheet 1 and sheet 2
Sheet one has the company 1 and company 2 with various networks address and that need to be deleted based on overlaps.
I am trying to mark on sheet 2 or even better sheet 3 on what can be deleted since both companies cant have same network IP addresses.
I have started it, but its to manual and will take some time to complete.
On Sheet 2 I have IP addresses that coincide with networks that overlap
So Sheet 2 needs to reference Sheet 1 based on what can be marked as deleted if they overlap
Sheet 1 contents;

I have table with companies across in columns, months down the side in rows, and 6 parts to the data in addition to company and month. I have quotes from 3 different sources, and won deals from those 3 different sources. How do I create a pivot table/chart to analyze the data quickly, or find out Top 10 companies quoting with value and top 10 companies with won deals?
I have attached an example, taking out the company names with A, B, C, and source with A, B, C. The cells do have an array formula which picks data from another spreadsheet. Which, by the way, is really slowing my machine down each time I type something into the spreadsheet.
Basically I have 2 sheets. The first an orders sheet which shows all orders from companies with the date of the order, whether it is a repeat order, and whether it has been delivered. The second sheet a customer account sheet which shows the order history by customer. I have used the following formula :
To extract the companies from the orders sheet however if a company has had no previous order (i.e. a new customer) and has not recieved a delivery yet I do not want him added to the sheet.
I have tried amending my formula in different ways but always encounter problems.
I've got data in two columns (J and G). Column J contains product manufactured by companies in column G. Some products in column J are manufactured by more than one company in column G. I'm trying to create a conditional format to highlight products made by multiple companies.
My thought is that I need a formula that asks if the product is duplicated, AND the company is different, but I'm not sure how to do that.
I have a large amount of data and I'm trying to count how many unique values I have in one column. I also want to know how many times each duplicate appears. I tried using a pivot table but it's not working for me.
I also tried the following formula: =SUM(IF(FREQUENCY(H:H,H:H)>0,1)) but it's not quite working.
I have this formula that works perfectly fine for what I am trying to do (from another post) but I am wanting to transfer this into VBA. It is an array formula so I'm not sure if this can be done.
How can I convert this, into R1C1 code or any way possible. I would put it within a WITH RANGE statement.
Need to do this using formulas and without needing to add any new columns.
Need a formula to lookup the details sheet (for easyness i just added it as a new tab here) and count the unique names in a dept and display that in the summary sheet/tab.
Want the formula to be applied to the summary to go and lookup/count from the other sheet.
Have shown the expected results in the col "total unique heads".
Col A Col B 163401 1 163401 1 163401 0 163402 1 163402 0 163402 0
GOAL -I want to be able to count Col B only once for the same set of records in COL A.
Based on Distinct criteria on COL A, I need to be able to count COL B. The count should be 1 for 163401 and not 2. Similarly for 163402 the count should be 1
I'm working with a data set (attached) that tracks financials at both the job and item level (in my customer's data - a unique job can be made up of a single or multiple items).
I've successfully built a formula (in column C of the attached) that counts the total number of items and their associated $ values that were invoiced in a given month based on my customer's requested item-type categorizations (i.e. "Exact Match", "Similar", "Inferred", "Cost-Plus").
The problem I'm running into is building a formula that counts the first unique instance of the Job ID associated with those items. For example - in cell C33 on the attached - The total number of items invoiced in June that were "Exact Match" was 10. These items were spread across 9 unique jobs - and that's where I'm struggling - to build a formula that only counts the first unique instance of the corresponding Job ID in Column C.
The formula I'm having trouble with is located in Cell D12 on the "Dashboard" tab of the attached.
The formula as I have it is returning a result of 8 - because it's summing the "1"'s in Column I on my "Invoice Data" tab - however it should read 9 (Filter Column Q on the "Invoice Data" tab to "June", Filter Column AQ on the "Invoice Data" tab to "Exact Match", and then sum the unique job IDs in Column C).
I want to have a unique count field in my pivot table. I already read (via forum search) that this can only be achieved by adding an extra column to the database.
The problem is: I have no clue which formula to use for this column. Please have a look at the attached picture. Can someone provide me with a formula for this example?
