How can I modify the code so it excludes Saturday and Sunday.
Can weeknum work with the week starting on saturday instead of sunday or monday?
if not, what are my options?
I am making process TAT(Turn Around Time) which required following information. In Excel 2007.
1-Count number of days between two dates where working days are (Sun to Thursday). So required to exclude (Friday,Sat + Holidays)
A1-Start Date Mar/01/2014
B1-End Date Mar/31/2014
C1-No Of Days 22
D1-Days between two dates 21
E1 To E10-Holidays
2-Count number of days between two dates where working days are (Sat to Thursday). So required to exclude (Friday + Holidays)
A1-Start Date Mar/01/2014
B1-End Date Mar/31/2014
C1-No Of Days 27
D1-Days between two dates 26
E1 To E10-Holidays
Note : Any weekend (off days) dates listed in holidays should not effect the query.
how to count days excluding only sundays in a calender period.
"weekdays" excludes both saturdays and sundays.
In B13 I have the start date: 12/1/2008
In C13 I have the end date: 1/5/2009
In cell D13 I want a formula that counts the number of days between the two dates that are not Sunday. The start and end dates are included in the count.
I have created this formula using Ctrl + Shift + Enter:
{=SUM(IF(WEEKDAY(ROW(INDIRECT(B13&":"&C13)),2)7,1,0))}
I have also created this formula using Ctrl + Shift + Enter:
{=SUM(IF(TEXT(ROW(INDIRECT(B13&":"&C13)),"ddd")"Sun",1,0))}
They both seem to work. I get a result of 31.
Is there a formula that is better than this, more efficient than this, or "less expensive"?
I have an excel sheet that uses date formulas in order to provide data regarding the date that it brings up. My problem is that the formulas do not bring up dates unless the dates are on a weekday. Ex. I would like to look back 3 months in the past, and I do so using the formula =today()-90 (90 for 90 days, about 3 months). I would then like to input this date formula into another function (potentially an if function) so that if today-90 is a saturday or a sunday, the function will automatically bring up the date for the friday preceding it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to format a row (B) if B8 = Saturday or Sunday.
The value in B8 is derived from a formula.
I have tried the following but it only works if cell is typed manually.
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
On Error GoTo stoppit
Application.EnableEvents = False
With Me.Range("B8")
If .Value = "Saturday" Or .Value = "Sunday" Then
Me.Range("B8:J8").Font.ColorIndex = 2
End If
End With
stoppit:
Application.EnableEvents = True
End
End Sub
I also want to change format back if cell changes to M-F.
Excel 97
I have three columns named "name","start_date" and "end_date"
ex:
Name start_date end_date
AB 9/11/13 10:19 AM ??
CD 9/12/13 11:45 AM ??
All i need to find is,
If Name = AB, i want put start_date+3 days in the end_date column,
similarly for name = CD , start_date+7 days.
But the calculation should exculde weekends(sat and sun).
ex: For AB, start_date = 10/3/13 (3rd oct , thrusday), end_date should be start_date+3 ,so end_date = 10/6/13 but 6th october is sunday so the formula should give end_date as 10/7/13.
I'm wondering if there is a way to highlight Saturday and Sunday on my graph: [URL] ......
Here, I have it done with a shape formatted with the transparent light red fill.
I am trying to automatically get the following series filled in but have failed thus far:
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,21,22,23....... (after 7, it skips 3 digits)
Similarly,
Excel has the "Fill Weekdays" option. However, how do I also remove Friday along with Saturday and Sunday from the dates of a year?
I am looking for Macro code preferably to get list of dates with Saturday / Sunday in a separate columns which falls Saturday and Sunday on imputing the year.

I start everyday at different times it varies the end of shift as well. We have day shift, night, saturday, sunday payrates.
I have done an excel sheet I was trying for a couple of days reading forums and watching videos but just I couldn't.
Example if I start Friday at 18:00 and finisth Saturday at 04:00. I have in total 10 hours.
Day shift: 1 hour
Night shift: 5 hour
Saturday: 4 hour
So in one shift I get 3 different payrate. In one shift if I work more than 6 hours it must be deducted 00:45 minutes.
Day shift: 07:00-19:00 - £10.7
Night shift: 19:00-07:00 - £11.7
Saturday - £12.7
Sunday - £14.7

I am looking for a formula that looks at a date and could add business days to it.
for example:
If the date in a field is Monday, 15-dec-08 and my formula is to add 5 Business days (mon-fri) to it not including that date. The desired result would be Monday, 22-dec-08 but my formula gives me 20-dec-08

View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to have a formula in a spreadsheet of personal bills that counts down the number of days until each one is due each month.
In one column, I have a digit in each cell to represent the day of the month each month that the bill is due. Someone helped me with a formula that can count down days to a date that is a higher number than the present day of the month, but can I get a formula to count the days from, say, December (or any month) 28th to a due date of the 6th (of the next month)?
Another thread that wanted to count "weekends" got me to thinking about this one:
Count the full weeks (from Monday thru Sunday) between 2 dates.
For example...
Data Range
A
B
C
D
E
F
1
Date
Weekday
------
Start
End
Weeks
2
8/1/2013
Thu
8/1/2013
8/15/2013
1
3
8/2/2013
Fri
[Code] .........
Full Monday thru Sunday weeks = 1
This array formula** entered in F2:
=(MAX(IF(WEEKDAY(ROW(INDIRECT(D2&":"&E2)),2)=7,ROW(INDIRECT(D2&":"&E2))))-MIN(IF(WEEKDAY(ROW(INDIRECT(D2&":"&E2)),2)=1,ROW(INDIRECT(D2&":"&E2))))+1)/7
** array formulas need to be entered using the key combination of CTRL,SHIFT,ENTER (not just ENTER).
Hold down both the CTRL key and the SHIFT key then hit ENTER.
The logic of the formula is:
The max Sunday date within the date range minus the min Monday date within the date range +1 = total days divided by 7 (days in a full week) = full weeks
I am trying to create a formula that will count days since an incident. Column A will have each day of the year in it Column 2, I would like to have 0 in it for each day In the event of an incident, I will replace the 0 with a 1 - but this should only happen on the date, rather than be maintained daily, if you take my point. I would like it to return a value based on todays date, counting the days in between today, and the last 1 entered. It is to cover the whole year.

The data that i was using has been changed and they have decided to change the format of the dates and dropped the year reference no all i have to work with is dates like 27-07 this represents 27th July i can format this date to work fine unless the date falls before 1 jan this year all i get is lots of numbers and it stuffs up the whole calculation.
The formula i am using to compare the dates is
=DATEDIF(N31,$D$1,"d")
I have a large spreadsheet which holds lots of data with date ranges that i need to performs different actions to. Any way to identify the number of days, per calender month, that falls in a date range.

As you can see this also laps into a new year, which poses my next problem, ill probably just add more columns on to the end of the table for that though...
I will later apply different calculations to these cells but in short need to get a calculation for the number of days per month first.
(in short spreading the new value out accross the year then multiplying it by the days... i also need to apply a further daily volume cal to it).
There are dates in column C and I need to count how many days are coming due within 90 days of each date based on the today() function but do not exceed the 90 days.
Countif Today()+90
I need a formula to count how many days hours & mins between 2 dates but included in the formula need to ensure it only counts business days.
Column A 02/09/2011 13:00
Column AO 02/09/2011 13:02
I need in Column AP to show 0 00:02
The formula I have tried using is - =IF(AO3="","",AO3-A3) which doesnt work as instead of showing 0 00:02 it shows 1 00:02. I dont want it to count as 1 day just 2 mins.
Once that has been worked out I need to include WORKDAYS formula to only count working days. I have created the list on 'Controls' Tab Column A10:A47.
merge these together to create the one formula?
I want to put a date in one cell then in the next cell i want it to add 60 days automatically, so to give the new date.

Does anyone have a formula for calculating the amount of money used for a 45 day period.
e.g
01/02/07 $13.00
05/02/07 $22.00
10/03/08 $6.00
etc etc
each amount for a given date added to give a total for 45 days only.
I have a worksheet where in column B I have a vendor name, column E I have a date value and in column AF I need to calculate a due date based on 7 working days for vendor A and 14 days (not working days) for vendor B. I've tried to write an IF statement but can't do it. Can anyone suggest the right combination of IF/AND statements that would do this? I attach the workbook should my useless attempt at explaining my problem be unclear...
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have a client that has to total the number of days that people received medical care (for insurance purposes). BUT...they can't count duplicate days. Some of the dates show a range of days, others only one day. They've asked for my help. (We're actually a computer services firm, but I'm pretty good with Excel...until now!)
In column C I have placed the correct totals for the date ranges, according to the payment policies. But I can't figure out how to write the formula that accommodates all the variables (mostly since all the unique dates aren't entered--only ranges).
Each line is a different medical charge, so line 1 might be 22 days of hospital stay. Line 2 is for a different charge, but covers the same dates, so it can't count. Lines 3, 4, and 5 all occur within the previously calculated range, so they don't count. The date range in line 6 is six days but 4 of them have been counted already, only 2 days fall outside an already calculated range.
It would be easy enough to do this manually for a small list, but this patient has 1367 entries in 4 months of care! And there are others that are much larger.
Fortunately, all the dates are in calendar order. Also, fortunately, they don't need line-by-line totals, just the grand total at the end of all the unique days in the range. So if I can figure out how many unique days are in the columns ....
