Tried to place 50 in a cell and then add the 2 cells but got the same result -- #
Can I use the margin row number to add to -- this would work well as I'd get the Row number which would also be the date.

I need to add up hours worked of last 3 days including current day. The date column does not contain everyday's date. How do I formulate a cell for date entry and another cell will show the sum of last 3 days including date not shown and date entered? E.g. If I enter date 4/6/09, result should be 17:10 hrs; 4/11/09, result should be 7:00.

Nov 22, 2013I want to calculate the end date of my German courses. This is how it works:
A course consists of 60 LU*. The course can occur i. e. three times a week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday. In each day the course lasts 2 LU, which means 6 LU each week. There is no course on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and on holidays. Therefore this type of course that begins on 18-Nov-2013 will end on 03-Feb-2014.
Another course which occurs Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, and respectively has 2 LU on Tuesday, 2 LU on Thursday and 3 LU on Saturday and starts on 03-Dec-2013 will end on 06-Feb-2014.
Therefore I want to create a worksheet where I set the start date, choose the days and respectively the LU amount on those days. The end date shall be calculated according to these criteria.
The workday function on excel cannot do this and I do not have any programming skills to work with VBA.

*LU = lesson units; 1 LU is 45 minutes

Run Macro Daily To Add Days To Date
May 22, 2007I currently have an excel file that has two column and multiple rows - one of the column has a date - what I need to have happen is for possible a macro or something of the sort to check this excel file every day and take the date that is in the Date column B and add 60 days to it and put it in column C. It would also be nice if it could then put a reminder in outlook on that date that is in column C with the subject of what is in column A.

Holidays to be Excluded based on Country. Say I have 2 countries India and America, where America has holiday on 12/24/2012 but India does not have holiday on that Day. Hence while calculating Tgt date, India should be calculated normally, for America holiday date need to excluded(There will be a Holiday table based on the countries, not limited to 2 countries).
ex: 1) A ticket opened at 12/26/2012 8:56 AM; Target date will be 12/26/2012 19:00, in this case its 1 day 10:04 hours added to the Opened Time.
2) A ticket opened at 12/26/2012 16:56 PM; Target date will be 12/29/2012 19:00, in this case ticket opened after threshold time of 16:30, Technically ticket should start from next day i.e 12/28/2012 8:00 AM and 1 day 11 hours added to this date.
3) A ticket opened at 12/26/2012 7:56 AM(Before the begin of Working hours); Target date will be 12/26/2012 19:00, in this case its 1 day 11:00 hours added to the Opened Time.
4) A ticket opened at 12/21/2012 17:56 PM(After Threshold time); Target date will be 12/24/2012 19:00, in this case its 1 day 11:00 hours added to the Opened Time. If the above ticket belonged to America, then holiday dates(both 24 & 25) need to be skipped and Tgt date will be 12/27/2012 19:00.

How To Auto-Populate Date Range (working Days Only) From Start Date And End Date
May 25, 2014I am now trying to create a excel macro to auto populate all the dates with reference to a start date and end date. The catch is that only working days are required in the range. My reference cells (start and end date) are in Sheet 1 while the destination cell range are in Sheet 2. The reason for creating a macro instead of a function is that the intervals between the start date and end date changes frequently (annual, semi-annual and quarterly) Best case scenario would be a button which I can just press after i input the dates to generate the range of dates in another sheet.

Adding Unique Days In A Range
Aug 4, 2008We have a client that has to total the number of days that people received medical care (for insurance purposes). BUT...they can't count duplicate days. Some of the dates show a range of days, others only one day. They've asked for my help. (We're actually a computer services firm, but I'm pretty good with Excel...until now!)
In column C I have placed the correct totals for the date ranges, according to the payment policies. But I can't figure out how to write the formula that accommodates all the variables (mostly since all the unique dates aren't entered--only ranges).
Each line is a different medical charge, so line 1 might be 22 days of hospital stay. Line 2 is for a different charge, but covers the same dates, so it can't count. Lines 3, 4, and 5 all occur within the previously calculated range, so they don't count. The date range in line 6 is six days but 4 of them have been counted already, only 2 days fall outside an already calculated range.
It would be easy enough to do this manually for a small list, but this patient has 1367 entries in 4 months of care! And there are others that are much larger.
Fortunately, all the dates are in calendar order. Also, fortunately, they don't need line-by-line totals, just the grand total at the end of all the unique days in the range. So if I can figure out how many unique days are in the columns ....

Sep 16, 2006I'm working on a complex A/R aging summary. So Ill have couple of question, but right now I'm trying to have excel automatically keep track of the A/R process. For instance every business day I would like the number of days the Invoice is outstanding to go up by 1. So when I get to work on monday the invoices that have been due for 20 days will now show 21 without me touching it.

The problem comes in when I have yet to populate the future dates. I am getting -39991 (numeric value between today and jan 01 01) and because I am also using conditional formatting this is even more of a problem. Is there a way get excel to display nothing if it is a negative number? or to give a specified resut if the number becomes negative such as Expired or something of that nature?
