Formula Displays FALSE - Need To Display Zero

If D9 is blank this formula displays FALSE, I need it be o or - instead of FALSE.

Nested Ifs- To Display FALSE
May 30, 2007I need to display FALSE in cell A5 where cell A1 displays the words "completed", "cancelled", "Rejected" or "Resolved" AND do not have a corresponding date in cell A2. If there is a date in A2 - I want to display true.
However, if A1 displays the words "Approved", "Submitted for Approval" "In Development" or "App for IA" I want A5 to display True where there is a date in A2 and a False where there is no date in A2.
How Do I Get Concatenate To Display Blank Instead Of False?
Dec 9, 2008I am using concatenate to create a list of bottles based on other data, so that each cell contains a different combination of bottles.
The problem is that the list appears but there is also FALSE for every bottle that doesn't relate to that cell.
Is there a way to create a formula such that nothing appears if it is not true?
And is there a shorter way of writing what I am after, I can't quite finish the formula becaise it is so long.

Formula Displays Instead Of Value!!
Jul 8, 2006I have tried a simple =CONCATENATE(A1+B1) in a cell and it shows the formula not the value. I have tried
1. Formatting cell to various formats other than text
2. Deleting the Row/Column and adding a new one and trying the same formula
3. Ctrl + ` to show/hide formulas
I dont know why it keeps displaying the formula. Anyone know of a way to fix this?

K18 contains the number 54.00, and on Sheet117 cell K18 contains the number 404.00.
Cell A1 displays the formula rather than the result, which should be 458.00.
Other similar formulas I have in this workbook return a result of 0 when I know there should be a significantly higher number. Then, the same formula used to refer to different cells will return what appears to be a proper result.
VLOOKUP Displays The Formula Instead Of The Result
May 5, 2004My VLOOKUP formula is displaying in the cell instead of the result. The formula is VLOOKUP(A1, income_codes, 2, FALSE) and in the formula editor the result (00017) is calculated correctly.
However the cell displays =VLOOKUP(A1, income_codes, 2, FALSE) instead of the answer 00017.
My view options are not set to display formulas. The codes are formatted as text in the range income_codes as they start with zeros.

Jan 18, 2006I have a simple formula subtracting one cell from another using =SUM(XX,-XX). When I click on fx and bring up the function arguments box, the formula result is displayed correctly in that box. However, the cell containing the formula will only display a zero. I have tried reformatting the cells to no avail. I have also tried getting a result using =XX-XX and that does not work either.

Excel only displays the formula in the cell such like = if(B2>2;2;0), and not the result.
Formula is correct, so I don't know why it happens. Most often this occurs when the formula is between worksheets or different excel files on the corporate server.

Nov 30, 2009The first being that when the first if condition is not met, it is displaying false. The formula should be set up with multiple if statements and then display 0 if all conditions are false. What am I missing? Why won't it work for all the conditions or display a 0?
Second problem is that when I try to add the last if formula to accommodate the drop down option of 60 months (5) excel is giving me an error in the formula. It doesn't matter if I type in the if statement or cut and paste. Why won't it work for this option. A sample spreadsheet is attached. The formula is cell F6 highlighted in yellow.

May 30, 2014I am facing an issue related to IF formula. It does show the correct result in one and another cell, but in a few others - doesn't.
This is strange since all variables are correct, and parameters are the same for every cell. And, in theory every cell should show the right answer.
In addition, the result doesn't change even when changing variables in cells that are dependants to cell where IF is located.
Concerning the formula itself. Variables are as such:
- different container types (20, 40, 40rf, 45cs, 45rf, 45)
- different weight limitations per container type (e.g. 20 container max weight 26t)
- using IF(OR(AND(....
- if any of the conditions met (e.g. 20 container < 26t ) then VLOOKUP for the rate from data based on the place name.
- if non of conditions met, then show "Overweight cargo"

Insert Formula In Cell From VBA With False
May 25, 2006I want to make changes to a cell's formula when a combobox option is clicked,
I can make the changes using sheet1.cells(x,y) = "=WHATEVER(bla,bla,false)"
The problem is that when I run the program and make a change in the combobox, false is written as 'false' in the cells formula, which drives it into not working and displays ####### as the cells result.

Here is an example of what I am trying to do
cell a2 is Nitrogen
cell b2 is (Known gas%) 2.4800%
cell c2 is (unknown gas%) 2.4963%
cell d2 is =b2-c2 and I get the answer no trouble there. what I need is to take the answer in cell d2 and set a plus/minus 2% tolerance in cell f2 and get a true/false comparison.

I'm writing a macro to update 10,000 sheets. Each sheet has a column that I'm updating with a new formula. Some of these formulas have been previously overwritten with a random number that would delete the formula from the cell. I have to leave the overwritten values where there is no formula, and replace the values of the formulas where they are still intact. I assume that if I can identify whether there is a formula in the cell or not, I can choose that cell to skip or update.

Sep 25, 2009I have number data in columns F through AK. In column AL I want a formula that will look in columns F through AK from the left to right. Once it identifies a positive value I want the formula to identify if after that positive number there are any occurances where there are 6 0's in a row (anywhere up until column AK). The formula can return a True or False. I want to drag the formula down across many rows of data. If the entire row contains 0's, I do not want it identified as a TRUE

Mar 26, 2014 I'm trying to create a rec report, ideally on one page, for multiple criteria. The situation is we get a report on our trade positions (investment stuff) from an outside service we use. We also have a report internally from what we've booked. We're looking to tie out are basic things like price, original par, revised par, trade date, counter-party banks, etc. I've consolidated data from both sources on one page (DATA) where all data points are lined up (say EXTERNAL is from rows 1-500, and INTERNAL is 510-1010). Now I need to create a front page showing the result of each tie-out. The lookup value will be a combination of the fund name + trade ticket number which would almost guarantee a unique ID (fund name XYZ, ticket number 12345 = XYZ12345)
Current tabs on spreadsheet: DATA, EXTERNAL, INTERNAL. I need to add a REC page
Question: What formula can I use to check on each and return TRUE/FALSE? The goal is to have about 8 columns on the REC, each for one of the tie-outs (let's use price as an example.). I know the basic VLOOKUP to return one value, but it appears in this case I will need VLOOKUP to check two matching values based on unique ID XZY12345, compare the price, and return TRUE if they match, FALSE if they don't
Here's something I saw from one of our spreadsheets that I think does the same to confirm counter-party, though I have no idea how to read this lengthy formula.

Calculation Result Is Displays As 0.0%
May 15, 2009I am having a difficult time with a calculation. I took over someone else's duty who is no longer with the company. The calculation used did not account for entire columns & the data I need to pull fromhas grown larger than the calculation. When I hit "F2" to manually change the data array, everything works fine until I hit enter and then the result displays as 0.0%. When I hit the insert function button, the result shows as the correct number. I tried copying the format only from an adjacent cell, but this did not work. When I tried to undo my changes, the cell still displays as 0.0%
The original calc is:
