I have several thousand values to compare, using = Exact(A2, B2) to find exact matches and return TRUE/FALSE. I've gotten a bunch of incorrect results especially where both values equal zero.

I have a workbook that contains 3 sheets. What i am looking to do is:
1. Use the names in Sheet 1 (Column A) and find the names on Sheet 2(Column E).
2. If there is a match, put the whole row that contains the match on Sheet 3
Here's my formula:
=AND([@[Tenure (Yrs)]]>=5,[@[2016 Sales]]>=150000)
(Where should I enter high and low? Do I need an if formula nested into it?)
I'm trying to get it to read if the customer reads both criteria which is they've been there 5 years and over 150000 sales =
High if not Low.
I have a large dataset (24000 rows) that requires me to multiply two different columns of integers. In some cases, the two integers are both negative and multiplying them results in a product that is positive. I actually need that product to be negative rather than positive. I can't quite seem to figure out the best way to accomplish this.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been able to format single cells to display negative percents (Budget to Actual hours), but I cannot copy the formatting to cells with positive percents without eliminating the format style I want. [I need to display, with the parenthesis, (13.6%)for negative results, but say, 18.6% for positive results.] When I copy the correctly formatted cell (13.6%) to another cell with a positive result, it sets the display to general formating.
As I have over 25 rows of data to compare against 62 projects and 12 programs, with each value potentially changing from one analysis to the other, I am looking for a method to automatically change the "look" of the results. I have looked at conditional formatting, but have had no indication this will do what I am looking for.
Two columns contain data (cash amount) which should be the same. If there is a difference, I need to show a minus value in a different cell and a plus value in another cell.

What I want to do is, if the cell has a value to remove the formula and paste the results. If the filed is blank (no results from the formula) to leave the formula in place.

I am trying to create formula that will show overtime worked in a given day. The code I am using is a simple one ([ cell - 8], for hours worked). The problem is when the time cells are blank/not used it shows a -8 in the cell. what I need to do to create a code that will eliminate the -8 from showing. The cell its self is taking the result from another cell with a formula and then subtracting 8 from the result of the formula in the other cell.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe first being that when the first if condition is not met, it is displaying false. The formula should be set up with multiple if statements and then display 0 if all conditions are false. What am I missing? Why won't it work for all the conditions or display a 0?
Second problem is that when I try to add the last if formula to accommodate the drop down option of 60 months (5) excel is giving me an error in the formula. It doesn't matter if I type in the if statement or cut and paste. Why won't it work for this option. A sample spreadsheet is attached. The formula is cell F6 highlighted in yellow.
I have a table arranged by columns into SETS of results. I am looking for a way to mark all the columns of a set as false if any one column of the set is false.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am facing an issue related to IF formula. It does show the correct result in one and another cell, but in a few others - doesn't.
This is strange since all variables are correct, and parameters are the same for every cell. And, in theory every cell should show the right answer.
In addition, the result doesn't change even when changing variables in cells that are dependants to cell where IF is located.
Concerning the formula itself. Variables are as such:
- different container types (20, 40, 40rf, 45cs, 45rf, 45)
- different weight limitations per container type (e.g. 20 container max weight 26t)
- using IF(OR(AND(....
- if any of the conditions met (e.g. 20 container < 26t ) then VLOOKUP for the rate from data based on the place name.
- if non of conditions met, then show "Overweight cargo"

Why do I get a FALSE statement with this formula when T50=1, i want it to be blank.
I want to make changes to a cell's formula when a combobox option is clicked,
I can make the changes using sheet1.cells(x,y) = "=WHATEVER(bla,bla,false)"
The problem is that when I run the program and make a change in the combobox, false is written as 'false' in the cells formula, which drives it into not working and displays ####### as the cells result.
I need to be able to get a true/false from a tolerance percent.
Here is an example of what I am trying to do
cell a2 is Nitrogen
cell b2 is (Known gas%) 2.4800%
cell c2 is (unknown gas%) 2.4963%
cell d2 is =b2-c2 and I get the answer no trouble there. what I need is to take the answer in cell d2 and set a plus/minus 2% tolerance in cell f2 and get a true/false comparison.
Is there a formula or VB code like the =TYPE() function that will return whether a cell contains a FORMULA? Here's the issue:
I'm writing a macro to update 10,000 sheets. Each sheet has a column that I'm updating with a new formula. Some of these formulas have been previously overwritten with a random number that would delete the formula from the cell. I have to leave the overwritten values where there is no formula, and replace the values of the formulas where they are still intact. I assume that if I can identify whether there is a formula in the cell or not, I can choose that cell to skip or update.
In E5, put "INSERT". In G5, put the formula

I have number data in columns F through AK. In column AL I want a formula that will look in columns F through AK from the left to right. Once it identifies a positive value I want the formula to identify if after that positive number there are any occurances where there are 6 0's in a row (anywhere up until column AK). The formula can return a True or False. I want to drag the formula down across many rows of data. If the entire row contains 0's, I do not want it identified as a TRUE

I am doing everything in Military time. This is the finial peice of the puzzle.
Our shift begins at 18:00 and ends up until 7:00 (am) or so depending onwork
A1 I have a time (Projected-Estimate of when all work should be done)
A2 I have a time (Actual- Time the work was actually complete.)
A3 Will be show the difference in either a Negative or Positive time.
Three Examples: (The first two work as is and are perfect) ....

G9 and G10 can be positive or negative. If G9 or G10 is a negative number,
I want the greater of the two to be used and then to be added to E10. But
right now, Excel is saying -20 (which is G10) is greater than zero. I'm
getting a VALUE error.
Possibly to combine If statement and lookup stmt. I have a spreadsheet that calculates principle, interest, and combined pmt amount based on certain amortization and payment frequency. In one cell I would like the expiry date to pull in (the expiry date would be the date that the fund balance would be at zero ie. all payments have been made and principle is nil). I am trying to make a formula that will search down the payment column and when it sees a negative number or zero, it will fill in the expiry date (which is in a second column) that is attached to that figure.
This may be more of a math question rather than an Excel one.
If I have a spreadsheet with a cell that produces different negative number each time it is used, is there a way i can add a formula to make it a positive number.
So if Cell A1 showed -£244.22, I want to add an equation that changes if to £244.22
Cell A1 changes so it would need to do the same for any negative number within that cell.
